I love watching things like this. I live in Alaska. Some people forage wild rose petals, and make jelly out of them. Wild rose jelly is super delicate, but so delicious!
I just tried this and OMG it's dreamy! I feel like I had a part of a spa day...I'm going to spoil myself much more now. I can do spa days like my friends due to my nut allergy...but wowsers, who needs one when you can make better and healthier products yourself? I put my homemade face cream on(it's a private recipe from a friend that I can't share, sorry) after this face wash and going to see my family for the first time in months...what a blessing to find this.
I have rose bushes from the previous owners of our home. I transplanted them to a different place in the yard, as we needed something to keep the water away from the area they were originally planted in, and I thought they would die. Three years later, I have the rose bushes I moved, and they came back in their original location. So I am happy to find a good use and some good information on them.
I'm excited to try this. I have 2 questions: 1.how do I know if it's gone bad? 2. What do you do with the hips? Do you make the rose hip seed oil or purchase it?
I have my own honey and roses, I went and got rose hip seed oil and organic rolled oats today and can't wait for the petals to dry in the oven so I can put this together and use it! Thanks!
Thank you for this lovely recipe 🌹I sure will try it since I have such a great smelling sort of rose and now I now what I can do with it 👌🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼❤️❤️❤️
Thanks for the recipe. I have 'maturing skin' and am interested in trying this. I am putting out feelers for old fashioned roses and Rose Mountain Herbs had their rose hip oil on sale.
A wonderful tutorial as always. I so enjoy watching all your videos. So uplifting. I was wondering what other non-gluten grain I could use instead of oats or wheat (I have celiac disease and can’t use gluten grains, also sensitive to wheat in general)
That's nice! Thank You! I once had homemade rose petal jam. I love the flavor! But that recipe had corn syrup in it. And I have not seen or tried any recipe since without that ingredient.
Amazing video!!!! By the way, my Damask rose petals feel soft after drying for 2-3 days in room temperature. I used a fan to dry them but still they are soft and not crispy. I am so tired of trying more. Please give me some thoughts. I would really appreciate it.
My mom used to make a delicious homemade rose petal jam. I've never eaten a jam so rich, subtly aromatic and tasty as the one she made. Sadly I don't have a recipe. Have you ever tried to make one? I remember she used in her recipe the petals of red roses, not other color.
Thank you for such a great tutorial. Do you have tutorial on msking devil's club salve ? This is a great pain reliever, but so expensive to purchase. Thanks and keep up the great videos 👍
Thank you for showing us a Natural alternative. Sometimes people spend so much money on products that are not even good for their skin. Do you have recipes for Natural makeup ? 💕
I made the rose face wash but have a couple of questions. Do you wet your face before you apply it? It is very thick and difficult to apply, do I need to warm it a little or maybe add a little more honey to the mixture, or maybe a little less of the oats and rose petals? Thanks for any advise you can give me. It was really easy to make and I am looking forward to making it part of my daily routine.
@@VanessaBarg Thank you for the suggestion. I ended up using just ground up oats for my daily face wash and then twice a week I use straight honey as a face wash, it leaves your skin so soft it is amazing.
I love antique roses. I try my best to only grow antique and heirloom roses. Hybrid roses won’t grow in my yard.😁 (not from lack of trying, they just don’t)
Great recipe! I make a rosewater toner as well. I cringed when you were cleaning out the grinder. lol I always unplug it before cleaning, as I'm afraid I might hit the on button and butcher my fingers. Haha!
Hi Carolyn! Or anyone else who may know… I have looked high and low for an organic apothecary rose or organic damask and have yet to find one in stock. Does anyone have a good resource? Thank you!
Love this! Thank you! I'm wondering if your roses have been sprayed or whatever, if after a few seasons of not being treated at all, or treated organically, if the chemicals would have cycled out. I don't know if my roses were originally treated, but I never use any chemicals.
Am I wasting my time & resources using roses that don’t have a strong smell? I have double knockout roses. They’re beautiful but not a strong rose smell. 😢
I've made homemade rose water and added it to aloe vera gel and use it for makeup remover and a facial toner. I love it!
Ooohhhh recipe please ❤️
I have tried similar method, however, Aloe vera gel gets dark and bad. Please let me know how to do that to keep it fresh.
I used rose water and it turned am ugly green color and it molded

Can I use older dead rose parts to make this lotion?

sounds like a wee bit more oil would do the trick, or thinner honey yours may be very thick

Re-watching! I have my rose petals drying now 😊

I've wondered about this! So I assume knock out roses wouldn't be best....I'll have to get an older variety

I have a rose bush and it has small Rose's smell strong but gets little bugs on it
Where are your adorable little jars from ?

Can you use peony petals for this wash

How would I preserve it for a longer period please
You can store it in the refrigerator. Mountain Rose Herbs states to store rosehip seed oil in the refrigerator because it goes rancid easily.
“Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise.”

Is TEA ROSES 🌹 good!
How long is the "wash" shelf stable once the honey and oil is in?
she says 1-2 months as long as you dont get any water in it
Looks like I'm buying a Damascus rose this spring
BLESSINGS
When I dry my rose petals on my table the smell goes away. Is that normal?
👍👍👍👌♥️
