I don't like any two handed weapon because a heavy strike takes so long. Unless you snuck up on someone, they'll be in the next town looting a mosin before you finish your animation

Sledgehammer has been my go-to melee for a long time. My crew and I were actually known on a couple servers for being experts with it and it was kind of one of our schticks. However, with recent updates and additions, I would say the fire-axe is my favorite with the field shovel coming in second in terms of early game stopping power. Field shovel, machete, and knuckles are my favorite in regard to functionality and inventory space when I'm off the coast.
The Sniff part killed me off.😂😂😂
How to win DayZ: F11
One of my biggest fears is cooking solo in some random town full geared and having a freshie hit me on the head with a sledgehammer while Im loading meat in the oven or something and tieing me up and sniffing my pants. Hasnt happened... Yet. But lately Ive been sneaking into slightly larger towns that have apartments because you cant see the smoke or fire nearly as well in those apartments. That I was slick making a fire in an construction site building but when I left I swear you could see the glow of the fire across the whole damn map.
Sledge is cool early game. Late game machete or combat knife for the stamina. A baseball bat is always serviceable and Ill settle for it. So long as your stamina is at half you can use two big swings and a couple small ones before the zombie can do anything. Baseball bat with barbed wire is better. Also sickles are pretty decent because maybe its just me but you seem to find pristine ones a lot and its a decent melee and a knife that will last a long time if you do find a pristine one. Also field shovel. Small and compact, sharp, lot of utility in terms of base building and burying loot.

Hmm fav melee? Probably the machete. Although, early game I run around with the sledge if I find one, when Stamina isn't an issue. Thanks for another great video guys 😊

I like the hatchet. One heavy and one light to head for most zombies, can do basic knife stuff with it and it acts as a hammer for building. Also only 2x3 in inventory. The GOLDEN melee imo

I remember being fully geared with an M4 and I was prone in grass in Solnichny waiting to ambush someone and then a coastie came up behind me with a sledge and killed me and took my gear.

Combat knife is my go to. 1 heavy hit and one regular hit kills most zombies

I haven't used a meele weapon in a long time. I carry a knife and my primary weapons. I like to clear villages from a distance or stealth kill if necessary. I use the pick ax to build ovens. That's it.

I got 1 hit KO’d the other day by brass knuckles, never before in my 10K hours have I seen that happen, no broken leg prior, no shock damage prior, just 1 to the head and I was out
Although a great weapon, it is limited to tier 2 zones and up. (Or in trains and other high tier events)

How does it compare to pickaxe? Its similar but you can fix it with a sharpener stone and it can dig or make gardening in the woods
