Also if your daily driver isnt windows but rather hyprland or some other wayland based compositor, you wont even necessarily be able to use 2 screens as tiling window managers often struggle with that. Last point is, the game not implementing a map is on purpose, maps are very distinct and easily recognisable. If you cant understand where the shturmans camp is on woods, where the big red, dorms or construction site is on customs, what store is where in interchange or how to get to the pier from the destroyed town in shoreline, you either havent played the game long enough or your memory is lacking.

    I've played Tarkov since Alpha haven't been super into the last few wipes but my go to tip for new players is pick a map I usually recommend customs and only scav there and memorize where caches are and just run from cache to cache on scav & PMC. This makes you good money but also helps you learn at least 1 route across the map. You can then expand by hitting a cache and exploring the area around it. If you do this for every map over time you'll learn conflict areas and how to navigate maps.

      Open the map with spawns before the game and try to have in mind what your first 5-10 minutes will look like depending on where you spawn. What's your route to objective, what are the closest spawns to you and their likely direction from the start. Example: you spawn in Concordia and immediately you need to be wary of the spawns across the park from Crash Site extract. Or you spawn in the museum close to Kamchatskaya scav extract or next to it - you need to immediately go and cross the street because of the spawns in the Expo that have the clean line of sight on the entire street. If you spawn and immediately go where you're safe and have control over the situation instead of wander around for 5 minutes and trying to pull up map and figure out where you are, the game will become much safer and easier for you. Getting good in Tarkov is way easier if you do your homework, but it's a fun and rewarding kind of homework.
      Often if you just want to extract or do a certain quest, the safest (but not necessarily the most fun) strategy is to stay put in safe place, and wait for lobby to get emptier. If you stay till the last 10 minutes on Streets, there will usually only be a few player scavs with you on the entire map.

    I just started Tarkov a few days ago just before the wipe. I'm lucky to have decent aim, a lot of IRL gun knowledge and a lot of CQB knowledge. What I was not prepared for with Tarkov was how much headshots matter and I had zero knowledge of extraction locations. So for the first few days I was buying AKs and body armor for dirt cheap with my buddy, slaughtering SCAVs and mag dumping players on Factory, and running around like a headless chicken for a seeming fairy tale of this so called extraction. I had some amazing adrenaline moments where hordes of enemies would approach me while I genuinely shook in fear and excitement at the possibility of another firefight, when all i wanted to do was find out how to get out. I NEVER figured it out on my own, always running out of time or dying with no idea where to go. I used to study game wikis and optimize the fun away. I tried to change that and stopped doing so much research a few years ago and really enjoyed figuring things out on my own. After the wipe everything was expensive and I couldn't afford to not extract and adrenaline excitement turned into frustration. I tried Shoreline with my friend and we could only figure out the Tunnel exit and the pier. Unfortunately, enemies were camping the dock so I went across the map to try path to lighthouse as my buddy tried directing me in the dark. I walked through a road flanked by minefields to what I thought was the exit and was very suspiciously sniped. I finally gave up and researched and discovered invisible snipers kill you when you exit the in play zone. Finally i had to research extractions.

    Quick tip for anyone new starting the game. people will tell you lots of Different "starter" kits and things like that. But for me I always will suggest the PPSH as a classic starter. while you can't mod out your gun it has one of the best features in the game. no matter the durability it does not jam. means you can beat the hell out of it if you manage to survive long enough and that way you aren't constantly worried about your gun jamming on you mid combat. its a great beginner gun. Low recoil and fast fire rate. 35 round mags and the pervious no jamming^ yes against a chad it won't likely kill them, but going for the legs (the classic tarky leg meta) or letting them by you to wait for easier prey are both great options to using it. best of luck!

    Very cool to watch your Tarkov journey, lil tip try to use the Free look so you can raise your field awarenesses.
    Also another great tip, don't hesitate to insure your gear (with prapor) you'll save lots of money and get your stuff back in a good rate, trust me. This will also allow you to dump your gear (say swap some headsets for example) and not get so much encumbered and overloaded.

    that bunker you walked into to check if it was an extract is zb-011. you have to turn power on, and if the light is on above the inside door than you can take it. hit or miss extract tho just like old gas

    • @yogato1070
      @yogato1070 5 месяцев назад +1

      nope, no power for that one, its hit or miss like you said, same as old gas, smugglers cabin, etc. The power turns on the ZB extract under fortress, which you still need a key that costs a couple hundred thousand roubles on the flea and a somewhat recent catch made it 20 uses. Same key you can unlock the building in front of new gas station with, its actually called “factory exit key” and is probably always expensive bc it gives you 2 extra exfils on factory.
      Anyway that other zb extract is just past the fence very close to the one thats always open. People with high enough strength used to use it as a ramp to jump the fence and not have to walk around to the main path.
