  • Another one where I shot myself in the foot. I have never owned a vehicle in my name that had working A/C until NOW. Been toughing out some hot, humid weather since I could drive. Feels amazing dude. Its not a big deal to those that are use to it but grateful. The A/C kit that I used was sold by Ebay. The brand was UAC. It worked great and replaces almost everything. THOUGHT the compressor started leaking because the A/C didn't work when I tried to use it this summer so I bought the new and improved design. Design is made by (Sanden) but multiple companies copy the design and manufacture there own. UAC makes a solid affordable version.
    Come to find out I didn't ground the wire that's supposed to be grounded for the A/C to work after I did the 0411PCM swap. Now it works great!!

      I found a 4 seasons for my Limited at the junk yard, about 8 years ago or so.. it looked brand new.. but the clutch had been failing for the past idk.. 5 years 😆 grinding on and off.. then now it grinds all the time.
      Guess ima see if the compressor is leaking or the clutch it gone.

      @@RCSmith90 I am curious Is this compressor very cold air at idle ? Inorganic does it require a driving rpm? Have you put a thermometer in it ?

    • @RCSmith90

      @@georgiabigfootso I haven’t put a thermometer in it yet. So far at idle it works great, but the fact that I have dual electric fans I think play a part in that. I was just using it today and it still works great. Feels unreal sometimes because this is the first vehicle I have ever owned with working AC

    I gave up trying to wrench off the joint between the drier/accumulator and the evaporator. Guess have to do the evap as well. Did your Sanden style require SP15 or was pag150 okay to keep using? I don't want to mix oil.

      I don’t think I saved it. I googled it. It was my friend Sam that mainly focused my attention on the relay and that it wasn’t clicking/activating. Then we checked to see what the relay wasn’t getting, ground or power. That’s how I figured out the problem.

    That startup was nice as hell, did you get it tuned after the 0411 swap? if so by who?

    • @RCSmith90
      @RCSmith90  11 месяцев назад

      I didn't have it tuned yet. That's coming soon though. Its still just the factory tune for the 2000 to and I believe 03 Express vans with 350 Vortecs. The exhaust I did helps the sound on start up. I'm working on a series showing how fast you can make these trucks with Just bolt on options while I map out the future motor for later. Tune is next.

    Will tall valve covers interfere with the ac compressor or bracket

    • @RCSmith90
      @RCSmith90  18 дней назад +1

      It absolutely does. That’s a side video I’m going to do. It will be short. The way around that it notching the AC bracket. Which is what I did. I’m definitely not the first to do it. I researched it and found a while ago that’s what people were doing. And going from 4 bolts to 3 is fine. No issues at all.

    what bolt size are you using on your volant hose by the throttle body? i have not seen anyone with this CAI besides myself where i live to ask. Thanks in advance.

    • @RCSmith90
      @RCSmith90  10 месяцев назад

      Are you talking about the hose clamp?
      The 3 bolts the kit comes with holds the hard plastic tube to the throttle body. Then a band clamp connects the coolers to the hard plastic tubes.

      @RCSmith90  10 месяцев назад

      @@motivationonpurposebrand2222 NOOOOOO!!!! That sucks!! I need to make another social media platform where I can talk to you guys better and send pictures. It’s not too difficult though. For starters finds a nut that fits on your throttle body bolts. The throttle body is bolted down by 3 bolts. They have extended tops. Once you figure out that thread size that is you have to get 1 inch extended nuts to screw on. Then get around 1 1/2 inch bolts the same thread size to go on top. 3 of each.
      Take one bolt out the throttle body. Take it to Lowe’s or a hardware store with a good selection of bolts and use there thread finder to screw the bolt into to tell you what thread it is. That’s all I have for now without actually taking stuff apart.
