- It dawned on me that I never showed you guys in detail what's under the hood. With school last year the cleanliness of my engine bay has went down hill. Figured I would suck it up and start the process of getting the engine bay back to looking good as best as I can. This hopefully will answer the questions some of yall had about odds and ends under the hood.

Still waiting on that intake swap when the times right for you. I picked one up for my 305 obs along with some turbo stuff. Hoperully that builds up next!
That is actually the next major thing after I get to the dyno and swap out this PCM. Which I’m trying to make happen this week.

This video is kinda your fault 😂. After talking to you I realized I didn’t do a tour of what under the hood. So I figured I would do a quick version while cleaning it. 2 birds with one stone. I put the catch can link in the description of the video.
@@RCSmith90 Try some Autosol metal polish on the valve covers it’ll work wonders without a lot of elbow grease! Use it on my sportbike wheels all the time. Also do you have a link for the valve covers?
@@bikelyfer.p Definitely going to look into the polish. And as far as the valve covers go, the Amazon Link I originally got mine from says they aren’t available at the moment. But I have the eBay link for the same ones. Only difference is mine has 1 hole in one cover and 2 in the other cover. This link only has the 1 hole per cover set. Which you can still use but you will have to fill oil on the opposite side. Because your pcv valve will take up the hole on the driver side.

You happen to have the part number for the pcm bracket? Just did the 411 swap, doesn’t move much, but it would be nice to have a bracket that can hold it down in place.
Appreciate the support man! I know EXACTLY what you mean 😂. The next generation doesn’t know the struggle of waiting for CD to come out. The factory brackets that comes on the OBS truck with Vortecs actually works. You just have to flip the PCM upside down and it drops in. So you could grab one out of the junk yard.
OOOOORRR you could get the one that ICT billet sells. Which I more or may not use once I delete my ABS. This is the ICT billet one that you can mount on the inner fender.

Wish I was to that point unfortunately I got a bent rod 😂😂 so a rebuild needs to happen smh good news is with no engine in there (if I ever make myself get that far haha) I can go all in on making the bay look good and clean while being able to work on getting some decent power back in there
Thinking about either carb swapping or going with a sniper efi and probably going with a 383 we'll see what the block looks like when i pull it out and tear down. I figure if I gotta do all that why put back that same crappy spider fuel inj garbage. Still unsure though
@@jjmccloud I was gonna go Sniper because they are simple, convenient, and can make power. But then I found an affordable marine intake. So that’s what I’m gonna install for now.

I pulled the fuse on the abs system. No issues anymore but i do plan on deleting the entire setup at some point.
I may have to give that a shot. I have all the parts and tools needed to delete it. Just have to set aside the time. I will absolutely make a video for it.
Any lights on the dash from pulling the fuse? thinking about doing this before switching to a proportion valve.
@bikelyfer.p yes, I just pulled the bulb(going to need to be done when the abs is removed anyways)

Yeah definitely annoying. I’m just glad it still goes away 😂. Definitely handling that when I go in the motor.
@RCSAutoworld- How many amps do each of your Brand x alternators put out? Do you know what the amp output is @ idle for each alternator? How many watts, is your Bass amp rated to do? What size, and how many subwoofers are in your truck? What Db can it do, and @ what freq.? I really love car audio, ive been going to car audio shows for 30+ years. Can't wait for your dyno run, to see what rpm your tq., and Hp, peak @. That data will help determine your optimal shift points, and what stall speed tq. Converter to get for quickest E.T.'s! Great video, my friend. P.s. Im a Big guy with sausages= size 18 ring finger, so i know what you mean about trying to get into small spaces!
😂😂 Thanks man! Yes sir. Big hands can be a struggle. I’ll be making a video of the whole music install. Starting from the interior being stripped to the sheet metal and sound deadened, to what it is now. I’ll put all of the info you were talking about in it. Not sure of the DB it will hit. It’s 2, 12s on a 7k Vital power amp. Alts are 250 amp each and do 200 at idle. Appreciate the support 🙏🏾

@@evilinside5984 funny you ask that because they were Skar VFX. Which I loved very much. I just upgraded them to the Avitars. Sold the Skars to a friend for cheap. I’m a sentimental seller so I was happy that he was extremely excited when he got them in his hands. The Skars were dual 4s. These Avitars are dual 1s.
@@RCSmith90- From everything I heard about those Skar VFX subwoofers, they are the best sounding, and play the lows the best, out of all the the subwoofers, in Skars whole lineup. In your video, about your audio system, please give your box specs: Net cu. Ft., port area/size opening, and tuning freq., of the enclosure, thanks.

How did you secure the lower portion of the dual fans?
The lower portion is secured with tabs that slide into the existing factory radiator support. So it’s just the top that’s bolted and the bottom slides in.
