    As always a brilliant vlog! I am so glad u posted this as I was wondering how you were getting along with the machine! You are doing a spectacular job! I am so glad you are enjoying this as if I remember right these little doodads can be a bit pricey!

    • @feltsbyphilippa
      @feltsbyphilippa  Год назад

      Yes, they are so expensive and even second hand I had to really think about it. As I felt a lot it's great for me but there are lots of greater art batt sellers out there which is a better option for most. Thanks for watching ❣️ xx

    So, I don't know anyone who has a drum carder and couldn't find a second hand one, thus I treated myself to the same model as you have 🙀 x first thing I managed to mess up was the packer brush, I've mangled it cos I forgot to put it in place when it needed to be! managed to straighten the bristles a bit and I don't think I've damaged the teeth! Note to self 'pay attention' and don't run before you can walk xxxx😸

    • @feltsbyphilippa
      @feltsbyphilippa  Год назад

      Oh my goodness, that is a nice present! I really like it because of its size, I hope you enjoy it. I think the packer brush is cheapish to replace with a small dog brush if needed, exciting new toy! X

  • @mijntuintje

    Thanks for sharing your experiences with the carding drum. Can you make carded bats of short fiber merino from long fiber merino top by cutting it and carding it so it's easier for needle felting?

    • @feltsbyphilippa
      @feltsbyphilippa  5 месяцев назад

      I haven't tried that, I would test it first as some Merino's can get bobbly, but if I get a chance I might give that a go. I think it would work fine just carding the merino as is but that is a fun experiment you have given me 😊xx
