It seems like you picked a really perfect venue for a small sized class! I'd be over the moon if I attended a workshop and then next door could browse a local market! I really wish I was in the UK - I'd 100% go to one! I really love that you encouraged attendees to bring examples of previous work they'd done - what a great idea to give and get encouragement on past projects you've done. It looks like you did an amazing job and created such a cozy crafting environment.

Another great video thank you for sharing. I did my second needle felting workshop back in March it was just a two hour introduction to needle felting which went really well. I do have a background in corporate training but I learned some quite specific key things doing this type of workshop first and foremost as you pointed out the amount of preparation time is significant much more than for the other types of training. I also prepared different stages of the item we were making and was really glad I did and lastly there is quite a big initial outlay but as you said that works out as less of a cost the more you do. The one thing I would do differently, and I liked what you did with the clover pens, is because it was an introductory workshop my kit for the day included everything they would need to take home and practice including a foam mat, extra needles, wool, finger guards, needle holders etc and next time I think I would take a set with me for peoplebto use and return and spares as an option to purchase which would help to keep the price of booking down. The thing I would do again, especially as it was a beginner workshop is taken a Sharpies container as somewhere safe to store broken needles. Thanks again Pippa your videos are always amazing and so helpful x

Oh my goodness, I forgot to mention that too, someone broke a needle on my course and I had no where to put it! Lots of needles to replace it but had to bring a container down the next day, how funny we did the same.
There was a lot of prep but I feel it was because it was my first course and yes, luckily I can recoup some of the initial outlay back over the next few. Lovely to hear your experiences and thanks for watching xx

Super video! I did professional training programs (in the United States) for thirty years, and you hit all the key points. (I have never taught a craft workshop (and never will 🙂)) Your point on first aid was unexpected, but excellent. Wish I could take an in person class from you.

Sorry, this has led to a question. Not about workshops, but have you a video about felting over armature? I recently did my first project using armature, a ghekko. It obviously wasn’t chunky, so it took forever to felt because the wool was only just covering the frame on the legs in particular. My friend loved it, and I would like to do more, but it was such a faf and there must be a way of simplifying the process to make a nice firm leg over armature that is not chunky. In short, because I know you answer your posts - is there a video for this😂
