I added 3 more rows to mine. 5 double crochet in each space, 6 double crochet and 6 double crochet. It gave it a scalloped kind of edge. I used Peaches and Cream cotton yarn and a size 6 crochet hook. I love how these turn out. Thank you so much. Most of what I crochet I learned from Fiber Flux! I still can’t read a pattern! I am determined to learn to read patterns by printing out yours and follow the pattern with your amazing tutorials!
Just made this placemat. Used the same yarn but switched out the white for the yellow. Loved this quick and easy project. Highly recommend this project for everyone no matter what your skill level.
I used your wonderful pattern and a J hook and made it in Christmas colors and it is absolutely beautiful. Thanks for the great job of showing us how to do it.
Thank you Jennifer I made them larger For a theme party And I encounter a problem in Some of them because they got tight and it started invaginating lake I was making a hat...I wish to post a picture of mine 😃. Thank you for your class; you're awesome teaching I never did crochet in my life and wanted this so bad for my party; I am very happy thanks to your class I did it🥰
I love this pattern. I admit I am tweaking the last few rounds to make it a little different, but I have a question for round 3. If you are doing a DC, ch 1 all the way around, shouldn't the initial chain be chain 4 to count as a DC, ch 1? I know one chain isn't going to make that much difference. Just wondering.
Once I got the hang of the pattern, easy peasy! Lovely placemat! If I wanted to make this much bigger with additional rows, how would I do the increase? I noticed the last increase was at R9/10 w/4 dc into each ch 1 sp; how would I continue the increase for additional rows? Again, very pretty pattern!
Hi it's really beautiful. The colour combination is awesome. Before doing the edging if I like to increase my circle to a bigger circle then what would be the steps. Please tell me as I want a big circular doily. Thanks
I love this tutorial but I would like to know what I would do to keep it going so I could make it a rug for floor...I love this pattern and want to do it as a rug.... could you please let me know.....tysm Your a great teacher
If I wanted to use this pattern for a blanket , could I just continue to do the shells around ? If so how would I increase or dose it continue to increase as you keep adding rows of shells? I enjoy your videos , they are very easy to follow. Thank you .
Wow yet again an amazing video!! Gave it a try and it worked out beautifully!! You are a great instructor. Thanks once again and 🙏 from India.Would you be Abel to tell me the procedure to make it as big as I want? Your colour choices are always a treat to the eyes!
Hi there. May i just continue doing 3 DC + C1 until it gets to the size i like? Then do the edges as you have indicated? Or will it bulk up if i continue to enlarge the project? Thank you in advance!
Beautiful! I'm going to give this a try. Looks very easy. I love videos that takes you from start to finish every step of the way. ❤ By the way, what yarn brand/name did you use and is it regular acrylic worsted weight or cotton?
Am still looking for a placemat tutorial of yours, I saw the picture on Pinterest, but I can find the tutorial yet, its made with teal green color, and then you added 4 petals on it as well, if any one can help, I will also appreciate
LOL, R3 is confusing. You say we're not going to work in the ch 1 space, but if we don't, we end up with a "bowl" at the end of the row; I did anyway; don't know about anyone else. I frogged that row and did the dc+ch1 in both the ch 1 sp and in between the 2 dc's and the row came out flat like it's supposed to. The angle at which you're working for the camera also doesn't really show that you are indeed working a dc into the ch 1 sp. Onto the rest of the video/pattern...!
I am making a set of these in similar colors. They are turning out very beautiful. I went looking for more of this Bernat Home Maker Dec yarn at the big JoAnns in the city but they are not carrying it so I went to Hobby Lobby....they carry mostly their own brand and not this.....so I went to Michaels and found it....in the clearance section. While I loved the price I am wondering if Bernat is discontinuing this line of yarn. Anyone else having a hard time finding it?
You are a wonderful teacher, however, once in a while, I think it would be useful if you would just mention the count, I.e., how many double crochets there should be in a given round (sometimes I need that extra security)……many thanks !
I think it will work if you see the rounds. As you did previously, 1 DC in each stitch for 1 round, 2 DC in each space for 2 rounds, 3 DC in each space for 4 rounds. Then it can be said that 4 DC in each space for 8 rounds can make it bigger. And it will also keep the pattern constant. I think this will work. But if you found another way of making it bigger, then feel free to do it. I just shared my idea.
Amanda d my stitches are usually on the tight side so I usually use a bigger size hook -- one or two sizes up. Also, count your stitches and make sure you are increasing the correct amount of times per round. Hope that helped
Thanks for your question! I used yarn leftovers from the Boardwalk Breeze Blanket. At the beginning of the video I have almost 3 full skeins leftover. Towards the end of the video after making the placemat I still have quite a bit left. I am confident you could get at least three, but most likely four placemats from three full skeins. I hope that helps!
In round 3 she is doing double crochet chain 1 in each space. She is not explaining correctly in the beginning of the round. That is why it is bunching for us.
can someone help me figure out how to keep the pattern from cupping at the 3rd row. I've changed my tension multiple times it still cups (folds up, doesn't stay flat). Thank you!
Hi, I am currently doing this project but as I approach row 8, my circle started to curl, I can increase the space stitch to 2 chains? is that a good idea? please reply
same here while using worsted weight with a size J hook. I better try it again with the yarn and hook size she is using after all. I left that type in my van and my daughter is using the van right now. grrr haha that's ok though I'll do it tonight. Yet, I'm still concerned if it will curl up as when making hats. Any suggestions to making it flat?
Hi there! You could try using a slightly larger hook to loosen it up a bit. Sometimes too when crocheting motifs, when they get a bit larger, they'll naturally lay flatter and more and more weight is applied to the edges as you work each round. Hope that helps! :)

Thanks for tutorial for the placemat. As a beginner I made two, one got a little smaller. I guess I had to much tension on the second one

Can I used this for red heart acrylic yarn to make this doilie???
Hello question please, if I wanted to do my circle bigger how would I go about that. Thank you in advance.
Increase the double crochet in the next round.
On round 3 you have to put a double crochet in between the two double crochets also ... If that makes sense

Can anyone please tell me how to make this bigger? Thx
May i know what brand of yarn are u using??
Why is mine bunching up and not lying flat? I'm new at this but seem to be following your step by step pattern ok
Mine is also not laying flat. Are my stitches too tight??
Ann Bush Johnston
did you get a response as to why it's bunching up? mine is doing the same
usually with projects like this it will lay flat the more rounds you work.
Amanda d my stitches are usually on the tight side so I usually use a bigger size hook -- one or two sizes up. Also, count your stitches and make sure you are increasing the correct amount of times per round. Hope that helped
+Nayda Badillo.
Superb 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
you are great...
Is the hook size H? what about the yarn, is it #4?
Where can I find the coastal coaster video?
where can I find a pattern for the coasters four this place mate
Hi how could you make this bigger please x
With the 3 skeins, how many placemats did you make? Thank you Jennifer!
Fiber Flux thank you!
In round 3 she is doing double crochet chain 1 in each space. She is not explaining correctly in the beginning of the round. That is why it is bunching for us.
I love ur project but u didnt give a count of how much we should have in each round so please do so i can do this without it rolling up
can you use cotton thread for this pattern
Lol m wondering the same ...
Can i use 100% cotton sugar and cream to make this . I want to make a set to give to my daughter for her new home.
I am using the yarn you mentioned so hopefully it works.
Can you not slip stitch and turn the project and start
you can make it bigger by adding more roll
What kind of yarn can i use red heart
can someone help me figure out how to keep the pattern from cupping at the 3rd row. I've changed my tension multiple times it still cups (folds up, doesn't stay flat). Thank you!
make two stiches instead of one stich between double crochet groups. This will flatten your work.
@@goodgame3167 thank you!
27:38 just leaving a timestamp to pick up where i left off
how would you make it bigger?
Please teach us how to crochet mandalas.
Nice
How big is this?
Approximately 16 inches across.

Hi, I am currently doing this project but as I approach row 8, my circle started to curl, I can increase the space stitch to 2 chains? is that a good idea? please reply
You don’t change colors right.
mine is curling up on round 3, what am I doing wrong? thank you!!

Thank you very much for replying. I want mine to look perfect like the video did. LOL Hers was laying flat even from the start. I shall try it again.

Hi, your video is one of the few with out the "CC" option. Will you please investigate why it isn't available on your video? Thanks! :)
