I am a retired flight attendant. I flew for Northwest (Orient) Airlines for 38 years and did many, many, many of these extended duty flights on the 747-200 and 747-400. This video brought back so many memories. Especially the big galley in the back of the plane, sandpaper inside my eyelids and extreme dryness. Actually, I think we crew members have it easier as we can be up and moving around and staying busy. Time goes faster that way.You passengers always had my sympathy, stuck in a window or middle seat and getting all cramped.
Also on the long extended duty flights (11 hours or more on NWA) the crew got rest breaks for a couple hours of sleep too. The aircraft have private bunk rooms for the crew. I don't know what Delta allows on their flights now. We had flights non stop from JFK, DTW, MSP, ORD that were the extended duty flights. Most ended in NRT but some went to Osaka, some to Seoul.
I am extremely grateful for the life I had in my career. I wouldn't change a thing.
9/11 changed everything though.
So it's been 8 years since, and still, no trip report come close to yours, damn, we, aviation fans, miss you brother !

Believe it or not your videos really helped me with flight anxiety the trips I take are usually 2 days long and for the week I would watch this video over and over so I mentally prepare myself, thanks so much it gets better everytime
I am watching for the same reason! I am taking my first long haul flight from Seattle to Tokyo in September and videos like these really help with my flight anxiety!

Longest I ever flew was 2 days, but I didn't get any sleep for 72 hours. Even as a pilot myself at the end of the trip I couldn't stand the look of another plane or jet engine, that only lasted for 24 hours. Sorry to here about your mother and father, you seem like a strong person, you have grace. Something to envy.... Just keep flying friend. Keep flying...
I have watched this video literally so many times and STILL love it. I just love the whole flying experience, the Dubai Airport is an absolutely gorgeous Airport, and i LOVE the AirbusA380. I'm actually located in Florida, and will be flying to Sydney Australia hopefully in a few months, and will be flying Qantas, and will be almost a full day of flying give or take. So i love these kind of videos. I seriously hope i can see more content like this from you later down the road. Loved it.

Hi, just letting you know that I live in Sydney and Qantas is really good, I fly the. A lot. If you are going to sydney the main thing you should do is catch a ferry ride to manly it's epic. Also swing by to Luna park a fun theme park.

I would say that this is my 13th time watching this video. I don't exactly enjoy life, I feel cooped up, I hate school and all of that kind off stuff but watching your videos makes me feel better. Whenever I have a bad day I just come home and watch your video. I really hope you keep making videos and I can't wait for flight of honour. Thanks for providing hours of true entertainment. Hi! I worked as a plumber at Kansas State University in Manhattan, KS for 27 years. I just wanted to say that the people I met at the college who were from India were the nicest friendliest people I ever met. Were always kind and had a smile for you. And I saw a lot of them as the college had over 20,000 students and many more faculty/staff. I just wanted to say this.

This is still my favorite video, have you flown the 787-8 yet? Both your long trip videos are my favorite videos of all time! I wish I could fly, the only time I did I actually recalled the Airline, Aircraft type, airport, and destination I went! I remembered my first flight on a Delta 737 to ATL then a Delta 757 to SAL.

I enjoy watching your videos, even the old ones because they remind me of travelling back home. I also love flying and hope to be a pilot one day. Just wanted to share that i love all ur videos. Infact both my kids aged 3yr and 5yr love them. I used show ur videos to them and it really helped me when i took them on a holiday and it was their first flight ever. They were educated enough n were so calm during then flight. We enjoyed it very much. Thank u for making such great videos. Plz do more of these.
