Similarly, I was introduced to Bryan Ferry by this beautiful new student to our high school, Vina. We were 18, she was my best friend and I fell instantly in love... we went to universities 25 miles apart, hung out all the time, I was with her when her baby sister died and her world fell apart - she went on to study medicine in Holland, and I moved back to the Caribbean - and even to this day, even though we drifted apart so very many years ago, hers is the only face I see when I play this song - she was my first true love.

Do you like Bryan Ferry? I've been a big Roxy Music fan ever since the release of their 1979 album, Manifesto. Before that, I really didn't understand any of their work. Too experimental, too avantgarde. It was on Manifesto that Bryan Ferry's presence became more apparent. I think Avalon was the group's undisputed masterpiece. It's an epic meditation on human relationships. At the same time, it deepens and enriches the meaning of the preceeding two albums. Listen to the brilliant ensemble playing of Ferry, Hubbard, Newmark and Spenner. You can pratically hear every nuance of every instrument. In terms of lyrical craftsmanship, the sheer songwriting, this album hits a new peak of professionalism. Take the lyrics to More Than This. In this song, Ferry opens up the doors to his soul and expresses his desire to capture a particular moment in time. There's a sense of beauty that is undeniable in the message. Jealous Guy is the most moving Pop song of the 1980's, about insecurity, regret and as the title indicates, jealousy. Ferry takes a third class song from the vastly overrated John Lennon and makes it his own, with a heartwarming performance. It's as if the song was written for him. Bryan Ferry's solo career seems to be more commercial and therefore more satisfying, in a narrower way. Especially songs like Let's Stick Together and Don't Stop The Dance. But I also think Bryan Ferry works best within the confines of the group, than as a solo artist, and I stress the word artist. This is Slave To Love, a great, great song, a personal favorite.
@@adrianmendezolmedo5191 Their early work was a little too new wave for my taste. But when Sports came out in '83, I think they really came into their own, commercially and artistically. The whole album has a clear, crisp sound, and a new sheen of consummate professionalism that really gives the songs a big boost. He's been compared to Elvis Costello, but I think Huey has a far more bitter, cynical sense of humor.
Amazing music and talented singer. Brian Ferry and Roxy music made a great mark on our teens and young adulthood, just like other bands in the 80s. Love that era of music and love everything about that decade in entertainment in general. Glad to have been part of it.
I am 54 now and I remember this song by Bryan Ferry came out in an episode of Miami Vice tv series back in the 1980s with Don Johnson and Phillip Michael Thomas produced by Michael Mann for NBC
Kocham❤️❤️
I remember seeing this video when I was very young.... Mr ferry stepping off the plane... Dressed immaculate... I was like yep I wouldn't mind that lifestyle... I'm still chasing it :)
+William Main When I was a kid in England in the 70's, it was often said that Bryan Ferry was the one British man, that all other British men wanted to be!
I'm happy to see that "Kingsman" brought this song and artist attention it richly deserves. A underrated performer, I think I have almost all of Bryan Ferry's albums. I'm probably dating myself if I say "CDs" but I still like having a physical format with liner notes I can read. As for the song, it's timeless. I hope it continues to be recognized by people and used in entertainment media throughout the years. Perhaps another movie will bring it to the fore again in a couple of years? I'd like to think that RUclips has instrumental in exposing younger generations to music past.
My goodness this song takes back to my youthful days. Loving and Loving it even today. Thanks Bryan for the beautiful music you gave us. With love from South Africa
I never listened to this group when I was young. My loss, the guy's a genious. The music stirs up deep emotions about he girl I loved so many ears ago. Now I'll have to watch a war movie to 'man up' again:)
Rich Smith You know that it's a refreshing change for a guy to be so open, trust me no manning up needed😊 ps I hope you find a queen to make you smile and heal your pain xx
This will always remind me of my very first love. It’s astonishing how a song can take you back to such a memories. Bryan Ferry truly knows how to get to your heart.
I was watching this video and suddenly realized that I'm what I'm as a man today because of this man. I saw that video for the first time in my life I was about 8 years old. I'm now with 45 but as a kid Bryan's personality in this video captivates me sow much, he's cold, doesn't like the holofotes, doesn't like attention, speaks very little, doesn't care about others, only he cares is his family.

Oh Really !?? 🤨

Gracias
Amazing music and talented singer. Brian Ferry and Roxy music made a great mark on our teens and young adulthood, just like other bands in the 80s. Love that era of music and love everything about that decade in entertainment in general. Glad to have been part of it.
I am 54 now and I remember this song by Bryan Ferry came out in an episode of Miami Vice tv series back in the 1980s with Don Johnson and Phillip Michael Thomas produced by Michael Mann for NBC
This song was enchanting for 9 1/2 weeks - beautifully written and performed!
Kocham❤️❤️
Sometimes when you wake up in the morning, there's a song that won't get out of your head. Every time this happens to me, it's a song from the 80s!
Go for it bro.
+William Main niiiiiiiiice!
+William Main Now that's a style icon. He's 70 and still rocking it! I absolutely adore him

80 a gogo! Belle emozioni. É stato bello creare e crescere così. Senza telefonini e internet. Pure emozioni

the smoothest voice in modern music.
I will play this song on my wedding day ❤❤
Beautiful, timeless song...and no one could have sung it better than you Bryan. ❤
Bryan Ferry's voice is manific.I'm watching in 2024
Magnifique
Can't believe i only found this song in the last year. I'm in my 40s and don't recall hearing it prior to the last year or so. Pure perfection.
Better late than never ;-)
MARCOU UMA GERAÇÃO COM SUAS CANÇÕES,IMPOSSÍVEL DE NÃO SENTIR SAUDADES DESSA ÉPOCA ❤👏
Linda música
I'm happy to see that "Kingsman" brought this song and artist attention it richly deserves. A underrated performer, I think I have almost all of Bryan Ferry's albums.
I'm probably dating myself if I say "CDs" but I still like having a physical format with liner notes I can read. As for the song, it's timeless. I hope it continues to be recognized by people and used in entertainment media throughout the years.
Perhaps another movie will bring it to the fore again in a couple of years? I'd like to think that RUclips has instrumental in exposing younger generations to music past.
I’m a slave to ‘80’s music!

Another great song by the brilliant and ledgend Bryan ferry.
No one can beat this fantastic song.
anos 80 ♡♡♡♡.......
época que o mundo era maravilhoso!!!
verdade 😞
Concordo

concerteza eu mesma adorava
My goodness this song takes back to my youthful days. Loving and Loving it even today. Thanks Bryan for the beautiful music you gave us. With love from South Africa
Altijd mooi song al ben sad &happy .ja, en je man hebt, slave to love.
"Slave to love", realmente uma linda canção, toca no fundo do coração!
I never listened to this group when I was young. My loss, the guy's a genious. The music stirs up deep emotions about he girl I loved so many ears ago. Now I'll have to watch a war movie to 'man up' again:)
+rich smith Ah, cheer up. It'll get better. But I know exactly what you mean.
+rich smith ....dude, I feel your pain! That love never dies.
Rich Smith You know that it's a refreshing change for a guy to be so open, trust me no manning up needed😊 ps I hope you find a queen to make you smile and heal your pain xx

Temon
What can I state just an incredible SONG!
My husband introduced me to him. His song played when we left as man and wife at our wedding.
Love it. I introduced my wife to Brian too and we played this song and Avalon at our wedding.
Too cool to drool. Hope you two are still lovebirds.
Fantastic memory, how cool and soo romantic x
What a lovely memory ... I suspect you may have danced many times to the song.
This will always remind me of my very first love. It’s astonishing how a song can take you back to such a memories. Bryan Ferry truly knows how to get to your heart.
He got to more than the heart.
2023 eu ouvindo uma obra prima dessa ❤
