I stopped using pencils and crayons bec my lashes began breaking and my pores clogged from the wax used to give the product staying power. I use either a tapered tip brush with smudge resistant liquid liner or a paddle tip liner pen. I too avoid black....too harsh for my super pale, pink face. Darkest I go is deep brown. Mascara is Rimmel in black I apply lightly, like a tint--then brush through.
I have eyes that are sensitive, too and I cannot for the life of me force my eyes to stay open! I have to shut them and angle the pencil up. You did such a great job and it just really makes your eyes pop!!! Have a good week and stay safe! xox
Have you tried the elf waterproof gel eyeliner pencil? Although I don’t tightline very often because my eyes are very sensitive and they argue with me when I’m not super careful, the elf eyeliner goes on so smoothly and so quickly that I’m finished before my eyes even know what I’m doing.
Hi Cathy you did great with the tightlining it can be trying sometimes. I have used MILK gel eyeliner for years and it is the best it is smooth and does not transfer I too use navy or brown, it's one of the best around in my opinion. I don't wear contact lens anymore so my eyes are not as sensitive as they use to be but I do get the old watery eye just when I put it on and keep a q-tip close by😂 Thanks for sharing, love all your videos your a wealth of information on products that I appreciate you trying them out for all your fans. I like seeing your face close up when you did that tightlining stuff. I'd like to see you do that when you put on your full face of makeup you have such a beautiful complexion and I like how when you put your makeup on it's closer to a natural radiant dewy look but I think I'd like to watch you do it close up like this. Thanks for showing us exactly how to do it close up.
Very helpful Cathy, thanks! It took me a long time to master applying & wearing mascara and I’ve been struggling with eyeliner. I will try your technique. Agreed - taking it all the way across the lower lid makes eyes look smaller. I’m glad I stumbled upon your Instagram and that led me here 😊
I have no issue tightlining but I love CT’s Kohl pencil. Makeup By Mario’s pencils are great for tight lining too, soft and creamy but dries down and doesn’t smear. Plus stays soft the for whole pencil!
Thanks Cathy, the eyeliner tips were great. I have dry eyes as well so I only do the tight line now and then. Your eyelashes look lovely with the mascara. You don’t look like you have short eyelashes. I also like the navy instead of black so I’ll check out the CT pencil.
Very helpful video! I have watery eyes so this is very challenging for me. I have found if I move my mirror to the coffee bar the height is comfortable and it is easier for me to apply, lol. I may need to splurge and try the CT pencil. ~ xo

Cathy, I also have very sparse and light colored lashes. I just love the IT Cosmetics Lash Blowout mascara. It never smudges or flakes, even if I take an afternoon nap! It’s amazing and easy to remove at night. I just use a little micellar water on a cotton pad. Thanks for this very helpful video. I love your channel!
Hi Cathy, You did a great job explaining how you tightline. It really emphasizes the eyes but I can't do it. I have chronic dry eye and blepharitis; it's been bothering me a lot this summer. I would like to try those CT pencils above the lash line when my eyes are better. I was in Nordstrom the other day with my grandson for back-to-school shopping. Took a few minutes to stop at the Charlotte Tillbury section to get the Pillow Talk Intense lipstick and a bottle of the Hollywood Flawless Filter. Love both. Have a great week ahead! Carol

Not sure why?Many of them are coming off in like minutes ! The ones i have tried are not really high end ones so maybe it's the formula that is not holding up. Thank u!

Another tip I learned, tightline as the last step. Even applying mascara can make my eyes water, so I do it 5 minutes after mascara and it seems to be working 👀

Thanks for these tips. I’ve just started wearing makeup again after 20 yrs & have sensitive eyes. Is the CT eyeliner pencil you use waterproof & non-transferable? I tried tightlining today for the first time & found using a different brand that it ended up transferring to the lower line & my eyes were watering. I’m also wondering whether you have suggestions for eye primer/eyeshadow brands that is best for me as I’m getting a scaly dryness/dermatitis on my top eyelid since I started wearing makeup again.
Hi Trina, yes the eyeliner is waterproof. I haven't had any issues with it transferring, but if I rub my eyes vigorously then yes it will rub off. I have tried so many eye liners and this one is the best that I have come across. I'm not really sure about an eye primer for dermatitis but I have used the Wet & Wild one from the drugstore which was good, but currently I am loving the Hourglass Veil Eye Primer; it's expensive but a tiny bit goes a long way and it grips my eye shadow. The Superhero mascara really does a great job lifting my lashes and making them look much thicker. :)

I have not had any issues with smudging, but of course if I rub my eye and forget that I'm wearing it, it will smudge.

I never put eyeliner on the waterline, my eyes tear up too much but I like the fact the eyeliner goes on easy, I will have to check that out.

Yes, I wear contacts and it hasn't been an issue.
Why do you apply to the waterline if it irritates your eyes, just do it on top and under the eye and then stop irritating your eyes 😳😳
It isn't the eyeliner irritating my eye, it makes my contact lens feel like it's going to pop off.
