The scene with Goblin and J.J. is amazing. In one quick moment, it forever cements J.J. as likable because he has actual integrity. He defends his employees, regardless of how seemingly low on the ladder they are, at risk of his own life.
This was my introduction to him, so I was surprised by how he is usually portrayed in the media.

Yes, J. Jonah Jameson has his moments. There is a scene in the 90s Spiderman cartoon where Jonah saves spiderman by pushing scorpion thus releasing spiderman.
