Dji done did it again! Finally the drone I’ll be buying for it’s easy lightweight / usability and can’t wait to see some footage with ND filters to keep the shutter speed perfect! But it still looks incredible on a higher shutter speed
Wow great video quality, am impressed. I ordered mine last night. I feel really sorry for the original Mini owners, no way was I ever going to buy one of those, they are such toys and lacking everything one would want. Mini 2 is IMPRESSIVE in every way. If they do a software upgrade so we can use it with our Smart Controllers, it would be HEAVEN.

Makes sense to be able to fly the whole DJI con and prosumer fleet with the SC."
I think I've hit my limit with DJI. I own four of their drones, love them all, but at this point, the "want" no longer justifies the "need", if that makes sense. I'm much more inclined to look at an alternative like Skydio, which does sacrifice some of the quality but provides an added layer of convenience and autonomy.

Just got one. I have the original mini. Love it, too. Also have the Mavic 1 Pro, Spark, and the Phantom 3 pro. Love them all. Haven’t flown the Mini 2, yet, but looking forward to it.

I run a photo and video business with my partner, she's the ground photographer and also our photo and video editor, I do the video on the ground as well as the aerial video and photography. I fly a Mavic 2 pro and love the footage, but have been wanting a mini 2 for some urban jobs and also thinking of it got flying inside, we do a lot of real estate work, and although I do sometimes fly the mp2 inside big properties of a smaller option would be great. I'll get these files to her to show her what the mini 2 can do in Prem Pro, and fingers crossed shell agree, she is the boss after all lol, 😅
I got my Mini 2 and it was amazing to see a footage. I caught a small smoking lake during filming around as well as I saw some fogs in different areas in the morning. Cool. Lol The only problem is too much glaring from the rising sun. I think I better get some ND filters to block the glare. I tested a low light video at dark night and it was just wow, very clear unlike MA2 I saw on RUclips. It is closer to M2P which I have with me.
Thank you, thank you. Excellent review. You have helped to shore up my decision. For my very first drone purchase. As I've been weighing the differences between the MAVIC Mini-2 and the MAVIC Air-2. Which would require that FAA certificate. Which, frankly. I'm not interested in bothering with, currently. So the MAVIC Mini-2 with the Fly More combo pack. Looks like a good first drone choice for me. Though I'm more intrigued with what the Air-2's extended capabilities can offer. I'm just not interested in dealing with that FAA Part 107 certificate requirement. I'm just a retired person. It's a hobby. Like anything else. And if I can fly the little one without the stupid certificate. I still might opt for that Air-2. For the better camera features and extended capabilities. I just want it for my photography/videography/cinematography pursuit of happiness and pleasure. And beautiful flying shots that will take your breath away. That would otherwise require a 5-$10 million helicopter. And a, $250,000 stabilization system. Not including camera and lenses. I mean come on now! This is outta sight! I could get by with the MAVIC Mini-2 for starters. Where later perhaps it will become the B roll drone camera? If I should get an Air-2. Once I discover how fabulously mind-boggling this is to enjoy using and to do. It's what I've always dreamed of. What I've always wanted. 20 years ago I got close. I built what we called a Camera Jib/Crane. Like I used to use it NBC-TV. The one they had cost over $10,000. The one I built up from scratch cost me about $1100. They are virtually identical. I like to design and build things for broadcast and the recording arts and sciences, i.e. live hit rock 'n' roll records. And I haven't done so badly with that over my 50 year career. Time to kick back see the country. And take pictures of it from perspectives I could only have dreamed of before and did. Yeah baby! And these are not allowed in national parks? I'm going to find out for myself. I'm a fast woman. I don't loiter. I go in. Get my shot. Get out. Quickly. And then I have fabulous video I can enjoy. When I become older and infirm and immobilized. Because I won't be having many years left. And I shan't be cheated out of my personal enjoyment during my retirement. All dependent upon the quad copter drone size I purchase??? FUCK that. I just bought this drone and after looking up regulations (I'm in the US), it seems as though every person getting this kind of footage is not following any of the regulations. Is there something I'm missing?

Great info there billy im thinking on selling my phantom 4 which doesn't get used much nowdays ,and replacing it with the mavic air 2 which would be a much easier package to use and get more use .
Thinking the same... looks like they have packed almost everything Phantom 4 has into 249grams, thats impressive. Waiting for the legit wind test and I am completely for it. But the main thing is the size, especially when it comes to traveling around the area in a 2 seat car with my wife driving, and me with a phantom 4 box between the legs all day long... Thats pain.
Hello Billy. I'm consider Mini 2 and Mavic Air 2. I know that Air 2 have more features , but did it really a big difference at video/photo quality between Mini 2 and Air 2 ? I'm totally noob in drones and my target is to make videos and photos of landscapes. Can u please give me a recommendation?
does it have continuous file numbering or now like the Mavic Air 2 starts from 0 after each format of the SD card? This is a deal breaker for me you unfortunately did not mention in your MA 2 video.
Seems like the added features of the air 2 would make it much better for a filmmaker. Spotlight, tracking, ect would speedup the workflow and its still small. Of course its way more expensive. This isnt a $449 drone. With the added goodies and insurance its over $700.

Mavic 2 Pro without a doubt, but that is a drone that costs $1,000 more. The dynamic range is far superior in the higher end drones, but looking at what you get for the price in the Mini 2 is undeniably great

Any chance of covering setting up cinematic mode yaw and tilt speeds. Nobody has covered it. My mini 1 would fly at walking speed in cinematic mode my mini 2 just flys away and its hard to get that slow shot indoors . I fly inside churches but have had to stop using my mini 2 as gtp too fast for indoors. HELP nobody has covered this. Would make a great video
I need help because i have the mini 2 and i have flown far less than a mile and my signal is terrible and honestly I'm not going to lie I'm extremely disappointed and starting to question whether I wasted my money I love the Drone but the fact that the signal is dropping when I am far less than a mile away that is a problem and I just need to know do you have any tips or suggestions please
On a 1-10 scale...how much would you trust this MINI 2 to cover a wedding? I have the 1st Mavic Mini and so far, this one can do it. My downfall is that I need to learn to edit...FCP just sits in my computer. It will become a winter project to learn it.
Did you test the flight time? Because in the first video you almost run out of battery in like 10 minutes? Lol. That is less than half of what dji say... Thanks.

Which drones do you have now? Getting a skydio also seems "want" at that point lol. That being said I'm looking at a new mavic air 2...
The computer vision based obstacle avoidance has too much limitations, you need more time to achieve some sort of perfection.
Same with me. Really just waiting for the Mavic 3 series.
The battery in mini 2 has a slightly more voltage 7,7V instead of 7,2V in mini. Therefore, if you calculate power in Wh it will be +- the same.
