Welcome back to Car Wash Chronicles and today Edwin joins me in a day at my car wash. Im heading there not knowing what to expect whether there be a bunch of trash, someone may have broken in or damaged equipment or something may not be working. So come along and let's find out together.
After working for my Uncle for 2 years at he's car washes I really wanted my own and I came across this car wash. It was completely shutdown for many years so I approached the owner of the land and made a deal with him.
It took me 6 weeks to bring it back to life and open it and now the customers are starting to pour in. Not to mention I opened it during winter so I am yet. to see its full potential but here's a small taste of how its going so far!

A great investment is a leaf blower. Easy to clean the grim off the entire lot and it really does make the wash look better. Especially were the vacuums are located. People don't want to track crud back into their freshly vacuumed car. I almost never use a broom now.

The best way to dry wet quarters is to spread them out on a towel on a warm surface. They'll dry in about 15 minutes. They get wet because the top of the column is usually open and the rain runs down inside and into the vault.

I would use a leaf blower to blow all the trash against the wall then blow it down the wall towards the trash and sweep the pile up right by the trash.

my dad used to run a laundry machine business - about 400 washers/dryers within the apartment complexes that he also owned, and all of his machines ran on quarters only (business sold right before credit card or e-paying became popular) - and he would count all of his quarters with a similar machine but it was mechanical and much older (only did one size at a time). he had such a good ear that he would be able hear the silver quarters hit the metal tray in the machine, so he would stop the machine and pick out each silver quarter and would sell them at the coin exchange place once a month. he must have found 30-40 silver quarters each time he collected from the machines. so my question is - do you look or listen for silver quarters? theyre worth over 4 bucks a piece these days. it was worth it for me to help him count because i got to keep as many silver quarters as i found when i was younger

Just discovered your channel yesterday and I've already watched 5-6 of your videos. Just wanted to let you know that any quarter that is dated 1964 and earlier has 90% silver and is actually worth around $4 today, so keep an eye out and an ear as well as those coins have a different/distinct sound to them when they make contact with other coins/surfaces. Also, keep an eye out for certain types of bills such as silver certificates and red seal notes; collectors buy these for many times more than face value. Unique serial numbers and 'star notes' can also be worth several times the face value of the bill, although looking for these could be time consuming in your case since you handle over 1,000 bills at a time.
I enjoy your content and good luck to you; I'd like to have my own car wash(es) as well, but I don't have the $$$ or a business partner to pursue it.

In Finland the car wash i go to i have to bring my own soap and brush(they have buckets and a pressure washer pretty much) and seeing how higher quality the DIY car wash places in USA are is incredible to me. It usually costs me around 8-10 dollars if i did the math right from Euros to US dollars. Also its required to clean the car wash after ur done washing ur car otherwise they can fine you. What do you think about this? Its the only DIY car wash in town.
