Mandy, you're braver than me. I've been going to Óbidos now for 13yrs+ and can't find the courage to go up. Love the silver coast so much we now live here. From Rio to NY to NC to Braga and now Lourinhã ❤🇵🇹🇵🇹Home is where the 💗is for sure. Stay well both. I love the contents👍🏼
@@patriciaobrien2775 Thank you so much for your lovely comment, Patricia 🙏 🤗 I can handle the castle walk as there's always a wall to hold on to... but I couldn't go up the tower with the amazing view as those stairs are way too scary for me 🥺😳 How cool that you've moved to the Silver Coast... it's such a wonderful region! We've never been to Lourinhã, but I'm sure it's awesome 🤗♥️🇵🇹
Lourinhã is a wonderful place. I spent a lot of time there when I was living, not far away, in Atouguia da Baleia. It's high on my list of potential forever homes... between that, Praia Areia Branca, all the way through Peniche, Baleal & Ferrel... and of course Atouguia. :)
I cant believe the lack of guard rails? 🤣 Ooooo i love pottery this is a bit of me ... I need to make a trip ! I love their streets with the black and white art so pretty ..... i might make the trip for the buffet alone ... i know me and my girls would go crazy in there.............
It's crazy alright. You need nerves of steel to walk the walls but the entire town is a real delight and a pleasure to visit. Hope you make it one day. 🙏❤️
Hello lovely couple! Thank you so much for taking me along to your journey by watching this video .Thank you for sharing beautiful places in this world.Enjoy.
Oh. My. Word! Just watched this! You guys…AMAZING! How in the world do you capture so much content and create such an enjoyable and informative video. You are the best! And…how special it was for us to share it with you! Thank you SO much!
I'm so glad we have this video of such a special and amazing time together. ❤️❤️❤️. Thanks so much for agreeing to put up with our documenting it. You guys were brilliant! Shame about the wind in places but I'm happy with the outcome. 🙏😍
So much fun to see Obidos through your eyes! I also did the wall crawl, Mandy. I was amazed that they allow people on the walls without rails - that would never happen in the USA, which is one of the charms of being in Europe. Way less litigious! Happy to see more Portugal content, as that's how I found you in the first place. Happy travels!
So pleased you enjoyed this video as it was real fun to make. Portugal has some really special places and we're so happy you found us through these Portuguese videos. ❤️ I love the fact that they just warn you with a sign, then it's up to your common sense to be careful. 👍👍
Obidos is one of our favorite places and we make sure to visit every time we go to Portugal. We found it by chance and it's magical! So nice to see it again through you! We were just there last year! You're incredibly brave to walk the wall, I could not!
Thank you 🙏🙏 it's definitely one of our favourite places in Portugal and we love to show people around when we get the chance, and also to share it with you too. 😊 So glad it brings you happy memories. ❤️
I am perfectly happy that you are featuring this buffet in you vlogs lately...the more I see this place, more I'm ready to find a reason to cross the pond and drop by there for a meal or two or three....or more. Starting my diet now, but I wouldn't be able to fly coach back to US after eating there.
Haha 😂 The buffets there are spectacular indeed. I'm dreaming of them right now as I'm currently in India suffering from stomach problems. Definitely worth going out of your way for. 👍👍
Mandy... Lee... You did it again! I love love love Óbidos. I think I already told you I took my Portuguese lessons there (literally just outside the main gate)... so I was there twice a week for a month and of course visited a few times after. I agree with you Mandy... one of my very favourite places in Portugal. How blessed I felt to be so close and visit often. I loved the hot chocolate they served there... when my daughter visited we got the hot chocolate in the ceramic castle but most days I'd just get it in a regular paper cup... it was extra delicious with the Ginja in it! I actually bought a pair of earrings in the little shop (up the stairs) at 3:17. They had, what I believe was a marionette, outside... They had several things hanging from the ceiling, like that as well (at that time). You were so brave Mandy. I tried that wall, a couple of times and I had to turn back. I'm not afraid of heights, just losing my balance and falling. The first time I managed to make it to the top of that spot, by the pousada/castelo, at 7:13 - it's sketchy as heck... but after taking the all important photos of the beautiful Santuário do Senhor da Pedra, I SLOWLY made my way back down... The second time was when my daughter, her boyfriend and my step-mom visited me. I was fine at the top near the main gate and got some great photos on either side of the wall but turned back where it started to narrow. Besides, I I have some terrific shots of them walking the wall all the way down. My Portuguese teacher became a great friend and she took me to the Loja da Fábrica - Bordallo Pinheiro... She'd bought me a lovely bowl from there, for Christmas so when we went I picked up a matching tea mug... and when I had a friend visit from Canada, I took her. She filled a suitcase with her purchases, LOL. Oriente looked delicious. Thank you, once again, for taking me back to the places I love so much. Hope your travel days went well for both of you. xx
It's so wonderful that our video can bring back all those lovely memories for you (and the scary ones) 🤣 It really is a special place that grabs everyone who visits. Portugal's most underrated destination in my eyes. ❤️

So glad you guys got back there. I watched your old video and was impressed by that buffet. I noticed the price went up. Are Caldas de Reinha and óbidos places that are not crowded (laid back and local) but accessible by transport and still have enough sights to see to spend a week? Are there places in Portugal you recommend like this? I've only stayed in Porto and Guimarães. Is it rainy almost everyday in Feb and March? Did Lee get that Lee shirt from the Philippines?
Hi and thanks for watching 🙏 Yes, prices have risen a bit recently. Still very good value for money though. ☺️ There's definitely a lot to see around that area. We really like the silver coast.
