Donald sounds great here and it's always great to see Walter bust out a solo. I wish they would perform this album in its entirety like they do with Aja

They had a Countdown To Ecstasy album night once, some years ago.

One of their best songs ever imho - Boz Scaggs does a nice cover of it - Donald beat Sting to the punch with the "fall in love with a hooker" lyrics by a couple/few years.

Thanks, Dan. Concert setlists were much shorter when my wife and I saw them in April 1974, so deep cuts like this one were never played in concert. Jon Herington does a fine job here of substituting for Jeff "Skunk" Baxter's brilliant pedal steel guitar on the original.

One of many Steely Dan songs that could’ve been a single, instead it was left for us fanboys to discover. I love the idea that, for all we know the character singing is totally deluded about his hooker girlfriend loving him, just because she takes advantage of him by staying at his house every night after she fucked every sailor in New Orleans. Talk about sloppy seconds. Then again, she may just love the million dollar words he says. Speaking of which, if she had pulchritude and personality, she’d probably be welcome at my place.

3:41 It sounds like Walt forgot about the key change with that last note!

Nothing funny about it. Inconsiderate jerks.
