What I hate most is how Baby and Buddy were actually getting along. Everyone else treated Baby with hostile intent Budy and Darling had at least amicable relationship with the guy.
Same
Same
Goes to show how love is the strongest feeling. Most love that ends, turns to hate one way or another. :(
I feel bad for all 3 of them in this particular scene.
Exactly, and that’s part of what the movie was trying to convey, there’s no honor among thieves
The way Edgar Wright pull this scene off is amazing. Remember when Darling warned Baby back at the factory that Buddy isn't someone to mess with and if he blows, he blows? That came back to haunt Baby.
Baby on the other hand has seen how dark his line of work is and how dumb it was that he was soo stuck into it and now he wants out. The losing of his dark sunglasses meant that he was already seen the light and wasn't muffled in the dark, seedy underworld also and by stealing that jacket, it's not just a disguise to run but also saying that Baby who is known to not be violent, would turn violent just to get away from his past and with the cops hot on his heels even after the disguise, the innuendo is that no matter how far he run and how much Baby changes, the crimes he did would come back and get him.
Everything makes sense and seriously well thought out.
I like how there are little hints in the film (like Buddy fixing Darling's gun in the warehouse) that suggest Darling was far less competent than she seemed, foreshadowing this scene in which she does everything wrong and dies for it.
Oh truuuuuu
I felt from the start that she used to be a stripper that Buddy fell in love with. Not exactly hitman material, but wanted to be a part of his world.
Ooooooooo I hadn't thought of that, and that could get buddy feeling guilty because he brought her into the world of crime
that's..actually pretty sad
Damn, never really thought of it like that before. I always just thought she got caught up in the heat of the moment. This makes sense though.
I love how even the music playing in the stores Baby passes by syncs up with the song from his iPod. This movie was so much fun.
HOLY SHIZZZ I Just realize They are not from the same song!! Synced sooo good
Thats edgar wright for ya
Also realise you can hear babys tinnitus after the music stops
the entire movie is actually done in sync to whatever song is playing, even kevin spacey's lips during the first heist rundown. that's what edgar wright does so beautifully. you can see it in the "three flavors cornetto" trilogy (shaun of the dead, hott fuzz, the worlds end) and even scott pilgrim. edgar wright is like a conductor moving a symphony, it's brilliant.

Muzaffer Ozen LoL so true
I feel like darling got herself killed trying to play badass in the open
It's interesting because it's foreshadowed throughout most of the movie that she's not nearly as competent as she seems. Most of the time Buddy is the one taking the lead and she follows. Often does questionable stuff or gets helped.
That's why she immediately runs into the open rather than stay in cover behind the car. And does a dual wielding shtick with full auto contrasted with buddy in semi auto behind cover.
@@tehcommenterofepic and the good thing about that is she gets killed. Not like other movies where going rambo gets you plot armor lol.
I was thinking the same thing
She holds her rifles like she wants to shoot the clouds
Ok I am so happy
Love the fact he shoots his ipod and the music stops :)
You can also hear the tinnitus ringing fading in directly after the music stops
That's because we are supposed to be hearing most of the movie from baby's perspective
Love the fact that everything in this movie makes sense
Shoots
this is a music videomovie... don;t you noticed the gun shot tined to the music... that is how you do with this song.. roboocop...
I love the small details like when buddy shoots baby’s iPod and the music stops you can hear baby’s tinnitus.
That isn’t really a small detail
NEVER even noticed that till now! wow
@ no it's not, it was the selling point of the whole film. From the moment the movie starts, you can hear the tinnitus, and it only goes away while music is playing. The sound editing was the whole gimmick of the film, how everything (action, editing, dialog, choreography) is focused on sound due to the lead's tinnitus. It's like calling it a "small detail" to see the hilt of a lightsaber on a Jedis belt in star wars.
wouldnt blasting music into his ear make his tinniitus worse?
@@randomrazr Yep, it sure would
i love how everything in this movie is perfectly synched with the music, the running, sirens, gunshots and even small details like putting something on a counter were synched up
Just wondering how after all of that running, jumping, and skillz.....how he still has the earbuds in....mine falls out when I reach my hand out to grab food

@@avacadotoast5571 This is late but how is Darlings death foreshadowed in the warehouse scene?
I feel like he could have drove off all casual once he lifted the car and they lost track of him.
He could have walked casually out of the store in his new clothes as well
He still had to pay the clothes tho
Tunnel Rat nah the cops entered the shop when he was leaving so they saw him
i thought no one realized that
Yeah. But buddy is after him.
It makes sense how Baby is able to outrun and outmanoeuvre the cops, as a driver he has to be thinking quickly, finding routes, countering the movement of his pursuers, so considering how good of a driver he is, it's logical how good of a runner he is
Wife: alive
Buddy: doesn’t try his best to protect his wife
Wife dead
Buddy: shoots every single cop in the area without hesitating

There were about 6 or so more cops after Baby left, meaning Buddy likely took all of them down. Now this is a prime example, of a man, who loves a woman.
I'm pretty sure if this was real life almost all of them would've been shot way before this scene.
Runners. Or both. Honestly almost everyone in this movie had that invisible bullet proof vest. But hey, whatever, still my favorite of 2017.

Honestly this is one of my favourite movies, it just so well put together. Little details of incompetence from Darling that lead to Darling eventual stupid death. Or when Buddy started shooting to the beat and when Buddy shoots the ipod the music cuts.
Why is everyone ignoring that Buddy and Darling were probably high af
Its not just the shooting in time with the music. Almost everything in this clip is timed with the music. The song playing in the store is the same bpm of the soundtrack playing at the time, so the songs mix perfectly. A masterpiece is what it is
2:38 I love how the gunshots are synced with the guitar
2:38 Just look at how many bullet cases are going out of that gun.
your right they're coming out back to back even while he's not shooting

Underrated comment
He probably didn’t know he had to shoot to beat of the music
Huh, the actor was probably just shooting full auto, and the sound was edited later to match the music. I guess it makes more sense than having the music playing on set and him dancing on the trigger.

Nithin C clearly you cant count to 12 and also 30 rounds go faster than you think
The touch of the ringing noise after the music is cut out being Baby's hearing condition is just golden
I feel that Baby should've escaped multiple times in this chase. The cops had wall hacks
Fun fact:: The guitar solo featured at 0:58 is actually supposed to come after the yodeling and had a extra note at the beginning but the editor cut that note out so it would be in time with baby stabbing the cop with the screwdriver, they also added the main riff before the guitar solo in the movie so there would be more time for baby to run.
he didn't stab the cop lol
there was no blood on the screwdriver when he used it to hijack the car and all he did was push the cop. No stabbing. Baby doesn't do killing
Uh and what song is this?
my fave scene in the movie great directing and the fact that every sound sirens, gunshots, alarms ect are all in time with the song just puts a smile on my face and is so satisfying to watch!!!!!!!!!
2:13 when you forget to turn on invincibility in gta

The fact that buddy almost killed all of the cops in the parking lot feels like when you reached round 2 in a boss fight

One detail I love about this movie is that, whenever you hear the police radio say what car the culprit is driving (or, in this case, if he's on foot), it's a sure sign that he's about to switch cars.
He installed aimbot in the middle of the gunfight
If you look closely at 2:41 we can see he is firing in full automatic mode, many shells are ejected from his weapon, yet we can only hear a few shot, they added the shot sound to match the music after filming.
dude now i always see it...................................... why did u have to say it
you've destroyed this film for me...
This movie is a masterpiece even the way buddy voices tone sounds like the car revs 2:44
2:28
Excellent moment- captures all his rage. However slightly undermined as he misses his magazine slot
One could argue that the miss contributes to conveying his rage; he's briefly in berserk-with-grief-and-anger mode, sees his hand is shaking and his missed, breathes for a second, and goes from hot rage to cold.
1:37 When you just got your Driver's license
1:20 I like how the car radio is reporting baby on the run, the coincidence of him climbing through a car and the radio being on, with that news channel reporting him on the run is cool.
It's actually really cool to see Baby is as agile on foot as he is driving
I love how the changing of his fit was unnecessary since he got noticed anyways, it was just a cool upgrade since his glasses broke n whatnot lmao
1:52
Baby: *crashes in to buddy and darling*
Darling: no f*cking way! *ANGRY PIKACHU FACE*
2:37 this part is soooo cool
2:39 bruh they used the sound effects from happy wheels when the old grandad guy gets impaled or break his leg. 😂😂
I love how when i saw the shopping cart get hit i immediately went "Poor shopping cart :(" like it was just reflex to say that.
look son a legend movie
I love how we hear a slowed down version of Hocus Pocus after Darling gets shot when we see Buddy reloading. Everyone mentions the tailight but with the music slowing down, it's almost as if we see everything through his eyes as he slowly flips his switch and the craziness Darling hinted at the diner is now brought out. (watch 2:25 at x2 speed to hear song at regular speed)
Every time I watch this scene, I come to think that if Baby had just driven off normally, neither the cops nor Buddy would have noticed.
I love the how the gunshots are in sync together with the music. 😌
2:33 me every time I fired one bullet in video games
I love how practically everything was in sync to the best of the music
2:38 Love The Way How Buddy's Shooting Is Synced With The Background Music
still dont know why baby didnt drive more carefully in the parking lot. He could've driven slow and safely until the police noticed him, and by that time he'd be on the edges where no one would be backing out and into him
I love how one of the headlights on Baby’s car goes bust when one of the lenses in his glasses falls out
Can’t lie, that was the cleanest run away ever
I like how there's a just a looping gif of the shells shooting out so even when they shoot single fire there's a constant stream of shells coming from another dimension
I reallly wish I saw this in theaters. I feel like I was the main character in this scene. It’s like that the entire movie. Even though I’m just on my couch I feel like I’m being chased by the police inside of a mall.
The little details in this movie. Buddy shooting the iPod and that's the end of the soundtrack for the rest of this scene is such a great touch.
Best 3 minutes of movie history! Has music, action, romantic comedy. It’s perfect
How has no one mentioned that the gunshots still line up with the music even after the ipod is shot? It's such an unnecessary detail but I love it so much

Every goddamn thing in this scene is DELIBERATE. Everything is synced up to the tempo of the song: the background noise, the wooshes and impact sounds, the sirens, the "Stop Right There!" in chorus, the gunshots. Its amazing
darlings reaction when they said put down your weapon was perfect!
I love how after the song ends, you become more aware of the alarm ringing in the background. God damn Edgar Wright is a genius...
Changing clothes/shoplifting was smooth, but fooled absolutely no one.

I love how the firearms preformed, the M4A1 had a little bit of a bigger shell coming out, the Sig p226 had extremely fast blow back with nice shell ejecting, and the Sig MPX somehow was ejecting shells from the butt stock.
