Music video by Roxy Music performing Oh Yeah (On The Radio) (Broadcast 7th August 1980).
Damn, what beautiful melodies full of gems. Who's listening 2024?
Me! The sound of my youth...
Yep, this is my favourite Roxy song
Here
Me
This is one of my favorite songs of all Roxy Music’s amazing catalog.
People are so quick to call something underrated. This song is the epitome of underrated.
Please look up the word.
Bryan Ferry is one of the coolest Guys i ever saw performing
when a song touches your soul...you know it's just perfect...
The bridge and chorus give me goosebumps EVERYTIME. I feel lucky, music gets me high.
Vote for Roxy Music!!! They must enter the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame!!!
where do we vote?
I second that
OH YEAH
Absolutely about time
R&R is a joke....green day, pat benatar.....crap. The good bands don't need the R&R hof.
Brian Ferry, smoothest man on the planet. Back in the day all young blokes held themselves in high regard , a bit smooth, Brian was the high priest. Nobody, but nobody would compare themselves to him. As for Roxy music, brilliant!
Er war mein Vorbild, Outfit Haarschnitt Coolnis alles gleich 👍👍Leider nicht viel übrig geblieben ( vor allem Haare und Figur) Bin Bj 65 😎
Roxy Music and Ferry always soothe my soul. I would give anything to go back to my childhood in the 70s 80s when romance and simplicity was the norm.
You and me both, Admin Cttee, you and me both.
And me. It's all gone wrong..
I was born in the wrong era😉
In the '70's and '80's we were all roller skating freaks, lol
Been feeling the same way, thank you.
One of my childhood memories is of being with my uncle, in his Ford Sierra, belting up the third lane of the motorway, with Roxy Music's Oh Yeah playing full blast on the cassette player. Glorious days.
Took my by surprise. There is band playing on the radio....... Sometimes he ... Said goodbye. So I turn to my RUclips and listen my music. With out you. I am so happy.
Bryan Ferry - cooler than the other side of the pillow
Why say something so controversial yet so brave?
@@aydankhaliq2967 What??
Siempre con su estilo unico
Alright Seth McFarland.
@@bensquires2819 alright? You alright?
Since I was 23yrs I enjoy listening to this king of music now I'm 56yrs. I love roxy music
Thank You Brian Ferry, Roxy music...for songs of timeless beauty....😊
One of their best songs.
When this was sung it was the coolest moment in all human history.
Not heard this for ages, great song :)
totally....
one of the most beautiful songs of all time
No, this IS the most beautiful song of all times
Definitely. I have a few but this song and Richard Marx Right Here Waiting and Hazard and Through the Barricades by Spandau Ballet, Maria Mckee-Show me Heaven, Foreigner I want to know what love isMike and the mechanics The Living Years.. Damn I love 80s music too many to mention. x
@@lisadavie5819
I like every one of those, but one doesn't see references to Maria McKee. I love her work with Lone Justice and her solo output.
@@davidadams2395 I was just naming some of my favourite songs and Show me Heaven by Maria Mckee I love as much as this song. x
Brian Ferry and Roxy, one of the best band ever.. I love them.. ❤
Who's listening 2024
Me
Still listining ❤❤❤❤ from germany

@@setitoff84 heyy! From the uk 🇬🇧
@@Ragnaroek5 hellooo
I still get goosebumps when I hear the beautiful harmonies, the carefully considered timing and that seductive voice, Roxy lives on❤
one of the best bands in history
Bryan Ferry could make an ingredient listings from the back of a package, sound poetic 😊
🤣
Its like
Warm jam, stright off your toat, stright on your best clean slacks....
lol 😂 Love this comment, very witty
LOVE it!
Bryan doesn’t need an eagle , flashing images or robotic models. He is more than enough all by himself for me .
Still listening, as you are, to this melody, that has instilled many romantic encounters in the 1980's. Brian Ferry "got none", because he is a abject nerd, but, due to his music, "I got some!"
Suave doesn’t begin to describe Bryan Ferry 🆒❤️
Oh lordy for nostalgia and sheer class.. Keep up folks, this is melt into your sofa with a good drink and smile or cry.. I do both with no excuse x
I witnessed this as a kid. I knew instantly that they would make it big.
It’s perfect. Sonically, Lyrically - recursive poetry, referencing its own glory. To me, It’s a song celebrating the temporal joys of musical experience - that special place, that nirvana we strive to achieve by forgetting ourselves in corporeal pursuits, is here not to be achieved, but to be discovered in the perfection of a chorus. Why go to the movies, when we have everything we need right here and now with this song? Every time you play it, it’s all you need. Right now. Or something like that.
I think in terms of Mr Ferry’s vocalisations, the harmony and everything - he truly is a benchmark in the art of music! Discovering him a bit late to the party, but sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet, yeah!
Its never too late to enjoy great music
Welcome to the party , and one of the best voices ever 😁🥰
I remember this song used to plug a radio station in cinema commercials in South Africa in the early 90s. Only now have I found it
Okay, I need more Roxy Music today...
Even in a short sleeve shirt, Bryan ferry looks dapper.
Having a few drinks and listening to absolute classics 😜
Me too. 👍
🥃🎼🍺
Roxy music and Bryan Ferry fucking ridiculously awesome
Richard Whitaker yes.
Pretty much sums it up👍
You said it my friend!
Great expression budy!
This song should be included in every 80s compilation album. Brilliant song June 2020 xx
Back to the 80's, everything seems to be quite raw and simple....yet this song is agelessly good. Roxy Music is still an important band in the pop music scene.
Back in the 80s everything was better!😉
Takes me back to a place with someone special. Still in my dreams. Thanks, Roxy Music. Golden days that I'll never forget. I can't forget.
Same xx
Awesome
We all have that one song that brings back memories....and sometimes tears........
Had this on cassette tape, all of Roxy Music come to think of it. Wore it out playing in my car...
What a voice ,what a vibe 🥰😍🥰😍
Class just 100% class
Where would we be today if there was no Brian and his band? Joyful and sincere, always gives a pleasure of listening, and his distincive appearance and performance with a light touch of psychedelic brings smile on my face... and because it's so good it becomes evergreen. Amazing! Unfortunatelly, most of today's music sounds like garbage, without any sense of humour. But, there is no comparison
Was 10 or 11yrs old when this came out love this song.
I'm 55. I love oh yeah for 35 years
Beautiful song! I'm feeling a Roxy music revival. Going to see Bryan Ferry in concert in 2020... 🌹
I must see him soon also. Fantastic
By the way, you are a pretty woman 😍
@@michaelplein3617 Thank you. Happy New Year!
@@selene007 You too ✨🥂🍾🎊🎉😃 ha!
SRD Great band. Did you get to,see them Hope so
He is as smooth as chocolate . Love it. Now that’s music .
even back then as a younger singer...WAY ahead of his time
The floor for good music was very high back then in the years between the three Star Wars movies 1977-1983, even the unknown stuff was tremendous.
Another soothing touch of class from a magnificent band, the effort put in to record a near perfect ballad like this is mind boggling and just further highlights many of the shortfalls of todays record industry/fast food attitude which only focuses on money.
LOVE IT ! Listening it with my father when i was a kid on my way to school... such a beautiful memories :)
astonishing melody. i've loved this for years.
Saw Roxy Music in the early seventies. Great band but Bryan Ferry something else pure class. One other thing I'm now in my late sixties and I think Bryan Ferry is older than me, but I can honestly say he seems to still to be the main man and super cool something I have never been. We are lucky to this guy around. Brummie Bob.
My favourite Roxy music song
it's fantastic song! The end is fab and so soothing and lovely music as it fades! 🎷🎹🎵😃❤️
But this track Oh Yeah. I rediscovered it driving alone down Camps Bay beach road and when that chorus hit I was transported into a world of bliss. Gotta play it loud with the windows down
Some expression in your eyes
Overtook me by surprise
Where was I how was I to know'
How can we drive to a movie show
When the music is here in my car
There's a band playing on the radio
With a rhythm of rhyming guitars
They playing Oh Yeah on the radio
And so came to be our song
And so on through all summer long
Day and night drifting into love
Driving you home from a movie show
So in tune to the sounds in my car
There's a band playing on the radio
With a rhythm of rhyming guitars
They playing Oh Yeah on the radio
It's some time since we said goodbye
And now we lead our separate lives
But where am I where can I go'
Driving alone to a movie show
So I turn to the sounds in my car
There's a band playing on the radio
With a rhythm of rhyming guitars
There's a band playing on the radio
And it's drowning the sound of my tears
They're playing Oh Yeah on the radio
Oh Yeah is a lyrical tour de force. I have always assumed it was named after it was complete.
aw something else which was part of my mind blowing memories from the old days.the 1970s and 80s.it'll never be the same again!
If the music of the era wasn't so fantastic, Roxy Music would have been bigger
True
No no, they were right there with them! Great band.
Malcolm Whittle surely, the 80s were a decade of the finest, and Roxy was the ever lasting stuff of legend..
L♡VE THIS ... one of the best songs ever sung ☆
Like some scents and odours can suddenly and surprisingly bring back an unbelieveably live and vivid memory, no, not just bring back a memory but bring back some long ago gone moment with all it’s feelings and emotions and make you live it again. A song can do the same. Like this song.
Absolutely. Thats what great songs do to the heart and mind. Bryan ferry was a class act.
Roxy Music, an Brian Ferry = Class Act!!!
the entire Flesh and Blood album was simply wonderful. Even the 80s fashion can't take away from this song
Is one of my favorits thank's so much❤️🔥
ahead of his time an we didn't know it till much later
2:10 - gotta love those drums .... ❤
Wonderful, wonderful memories. he was really something
Roxy Music...Real RocknRollas...Earth Soul Blues RocknRoll...
This is what we chose for my wife to walk down the isle to. Very powerful ballard brought alot of unexpected tears to the guests.
The best way to listen to this is with the bass turned up higher it gives it an edge of more emphasis.
aisle.
Listing him everyday give power and happienes from days before we were young happy and had no troubles
Always come back to Roxy. What a great moment in time they had.
Just popped to the supermarket and needed a 'late night' song. So i turned to the sounds in my car and put the cd in and skipped to this track and it was just perfect. Dashboard and dial lights creating an atmosphere and this playing, Perfect.
This song has some really elegant self referential lyrics. My favorite Roxy Music song. Although they were more groundbreaking in the beginning I find their hyper polished last three albums have stood the test of time better.
Bryan at his best, still sounds superb.
Jesus...what a classic
Bryan Ferry is one of a kind!!!! His voice is beyond, anyone in this music business!!! He sing's so sultry, he dresse's so classy, his performance, is so romantic.🥀🥀🥀🥀... Thank God, for The Eightie's!!!!!! The best MUSIC ever!!!! Keep playing Bryan, we are all here to listen.!!!!!! From The Motor City, where we know Music!!!!! 🎶🎶🎶🎶...
Love this song
Wish those days were here again
When we thought that the future was going to be elegant...
how wrong we were.
what a unique, original sound !!
One of their best songs.
One of the best songs ever made!!!
Definitely.
da_hooliii der beste!!!
the best
@@vandalking8341 Absolutely , glad someone else realises...
Perhaps the best refrain in any pop song!
Rhythmic melody no band today can achieve this
Hammer 80er 😎
I remember buying a pair of leather trousers back in the 1970s purely because Bryan Ferry had worn a pair. Needless to say I did not quite carry them off as well as Bryan, but I thought I did.😊
I bought a 2nd pair last year.. first pair was bought 1982, strangely they are not as flattering…….sigh
Bryan Ferry is still uber cool.
Plenty of style to boot.
Always loved this song. It seems to suit Bryan Ferry's singing so well. Love the dream like, happy and sad quality.
Congratulations on the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction-to-be!
'Oh Yeah' was released in the UK in July 1980, the second single from their album of that year 'Flesh and Blood'. It reached No 5, as their previous single 'Over You' had done.
Roxy Music's next single 'Same Old Scene' was released late 1980 and peaked at No 12 on the UK singles chart.
Brilliant band, not only by its core Brian Ferry, Manzanera and MacKay, but through all artists that participated. Love them.
Jesus these guys just made and influenced all types of music did they not? This had a big band almost country feel to it.Flesh and blood had all kinds of music on it.Reggae,Rock,Blues.Way ahead of their time this group was.
G. Christopher totally agree, I hear it in genesis, even Rolling Stones (mwa)
Agreed- each song was it's own style. Roxy Music does not age. So far ahead of their time. they did their own thing, and did it so well.
Plus Glam Rock, New Romantics & New Wave.
Totally agree!
G. Christopher Oh yeah. That's the album. Flesh and blood Over. And over. Got stuck in my casette in my car. Long ago. Great album
this song is the reason my beautiful 31 year old son is here today ... Oh yeah
Love this..what wonderful memories..Saw them In London live singing this..Flesh and Blood...Great times...

Classic Roxy music, Just awesome!!❤❤❤❤❤❤Love this music, July 2022

Could be a Lennon tune.
