A tip I learned from Luke Towan, if you add alcohol to the dirt mix to wet it, then add a mix of glue and water, the alcohol helps evaporate the water leaving just the thin layer of glue. It's worked wonders for me when adhering beach sand to canvases and sculptures.
This is a great and simple tutorial to follow, I'm glad to see you posting more often again
I will definitely try this in my beach scenes...typically I use polycrylic to set the sand, a few coats, and it hardens beautifully!

I use coffee when I am making something and need a "dirt" look, they come out very nicely!

Usually people hate it when ink bleeds through the paper when using markers. You are so clever to actually make it as an advantage in this craft.

A tip that I use, when I do not have dirt it using mini rocks instead of dirt it also makes wonders for me :)

So incredible as always! I'm curious, does the blending with the markers do any damage to the tips? I would imagine that blending yellow on top of green would stain the tip of the yellow marker, and then in the future if you tried to use the yellow it would come out a bit green. Keep up the great work as always!
Nope. Blending is a common practice with markers. If a tip is stained, you simply "draw it out".
What I mean is, you draw with the yellow marker with the stained tip, unless the green stain is worn off.
Surprisingly not at all! I was worried about that but these markers were designed to blend. Even if I touched the tips of two markers together, it wouldn’t ruin them. Amazing how great art supplies are these days 👌
