Hey there! I've been getting a lot of requests for more updates on projects and wanted to share my IG handle here. You can keep up with me there for live updates and stories on current projects. Working on a new dollhouse for a miniature coffee shop. See you all there! instagram.com/thesquaretospare/
FABRIC RECOMMENDATION * Fellow DIYers! I've made a lovely sofa to this video (thanks Cath!!) and would like to advise you against selecting thick fabrics for the upholstery. I chose the kind of fabric that sweatshirts and hoodies are made of (kinda like flock, woven on the outside, woolly on the inside) because the color was perfect. I ended up having edges that are too thick, and some parts around the armrests aren't ideal. Choose the kinds of fabrics that Cath used, ideally I think kitchen placemats will be great as they are thin and the edges don't fray. Best of luck with your creations!
An idea for a touch of realism and to cover up the bottoms of the finished couches, you can get the material that they place on the underside of both real couches and mattresses as well. It's the white gauze like material. It would help hide and corners under the couch once the legs are added. Love your videos! I am recently new to the miniatures and dollhouse building and have been building on to my current dollhouse project. It's a lovely Victorian. I subscribed to your channel and you are such an inspiration to me for making items myself. So far I've been purchasing items that are pre-made with some upgrades that I do myself. It's so relaxing to do these. And I enjoy your wonderful tutorials so much. Thanks for sharing these.❤
Hi The Square to Spare, Good day to you. This DIY Miniature Sectional Couch turned out AMAZING, AWESOME, and So Perfect. Excellent Job as always. Thank you for sharing your time, talents, great idea, easy to follow instructions, super creative and fun videos. You always make me smile. Take care, wishing you the very best, and I hope you have a wonderful creative week. Peace & Joy :) like & share as always. Super Amazing and such a fun DIY
That's the cutest thing ever. You do a very neat precise job. If I were teeny tiny I would for sure want you to make all of my furnishings. You're a real artist.
absolutely amazing! just getting into this hobby and the price of furniture is almost equal to the full size stuff at times! this is wonderful. being a crafter this seems like a good fit for my skill set Thank you for the inspiration!
Your models are well thought out and assembled. Luv the vids. BTW ur nails are always well groomed and it adds to the beauty of the model. Outstanding work.
Thanks for sharing your work! I really want to have a new experience for fun but I'm totally newbie for that. I'd like you to show all the preparation materials at the begging of this video! Thank you!
This is my first time I got a notification since I found your channel, and you *made my night!* Thanks so much for sharing. *Great job* btw! (Congrats on *your* new couch and chaise, love the color you chose, it's really a beautiful set!)
You have been missed. I watch all your demonstrations, and have made all the accessories you have shown. I await patiently for your next project. I'm hoping it won't be long. Louis, USMC get.
Kudos to you. This was an excellent tutorial. I’ve just discovered that on top of 1:48 scale being the easiest to display it’s also the most expensive to furnish. (Resin? Really?) I actually own all these supplies. Thank you so much.
Hi Cath, I juststarted to do another sectional. The last time I had to make the chase pillow smaller, otherwise it big. This time I did the measurements on cardboard to put that together first. I found that the chaise back should 2 1/2" x 1 3/4" and the chase seat should 5 1/4" x 3" in order for it to go together right!
What would be the measurements for a Barbie doll size couch? I love your channel. Even the pre-made houses gives us good ideas for furniture for our Barbies. Thank you so much. Debs from Texas
I am going to order a miniature DIY dollhouse kit 1:24 scale because of your videos! I love YOUR channel! This is so satisfying, like better then asmr🤩
I love it. Want to recreate it for my granddaughters doll house she is getting for a Christmas present next week. Thanks for the video. I hope I can do it as nice as you do,
Sorry to ask but I got confused with the part that had to be cut out, in the video it is 5.25x2.25, with with 0.5x2.5 cut out. In the description it was: 5-1/4 x 2-1/2“ rectangles (cut out a 2-1/2 by 1/2 section on the top right corner). Was it 2.5 or 2.25 for the width of the full rectangle? I did it according to the description, 5.25x2.5 and cut out 2.5*0.5. But it didn't fit with the chaise back since that left 2 inches for the part where it should attach, but the chaise backs were 2.25? I'm sorry I am not making much sense. I ended up cutting chaise back to be 2 inches to fit the parts but I was just wondering.? Thank you. And also, awesome tutorial, making it now :)
your ideas are really cool. I am going to go and try your techniques and thanks for sharing your ideas. I am just wondering if there is already an area listed for all the measurements of each pieces to cut out. I know you go over each in the video but its hard for me to hear what measurements your saying and with the camera your using its difficult to see the pencil on the cut out pieces as well.
