  • Recent advances in studying the micro-basis of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) have relied heavily on genetics. A geneticist by trade, Margrit Urbanek, PhD, associate professor of Endocrinology at Northwestern Medicine, researches how genes impact phenotypes like PCOS.
“Genetic research will be critical in developing personalized medicine for women with PCOS because it will allow us to identify the molecular legions that are leading to their phenotype,” Dr. Urbanek explains.
In this video, Dr. Urbanek describes genetic research in PCOS and how these findings are impacting the treatment of PCOS.
