I did my first large craft show last month. I make bags and wallets and custom designed bags. I had a great time. My best friend spent the 2 days with me and that was great! There were over 50 vendors, and over 5000 people came through. My sales were more than enough to cover my costs, so I broke even,...plus. I felt that was a win as it was my first show. What I didn't expect was the after sales! Wow. They were great. It sure pays to have your business cards on the table!!

Teresa - that is fantastic. I find that some shows are hit and miss. If I go for a juried sale, I tend to do better. I also find that shows that are annual and have a solid repeat business is a great one to get into. Prior to COVID, I was interested in learning and trying pop up sales - someday...

Love your tips -- I hate when vendors don't post prices. It's so annoying to have to ask how much each thing is. Wish I could have shopped your table! Looks like such great wares.

Thanks for the kind words Becky! My problem is I'd like to make everything! I have trouble deciding what to make to sell!

I love to attend craft sales and admire the amazing talent of crafters and sewists. Nice to get ideas for things I can make for gift giving throughout the year. Years ago, my Christmas tree was decorated with only handmade ornaments, most of which were purchased at craft fairs. My children loved it! Their handmade ornaments from school fit right in with the theme.

Great tips about organizing your table. I especially love your dressform display. I'm thinking about having a market table at our school fashion show for the next time we're able to have a live audience, so those tips will come in handy! Thanks!

We do a market before Winter break every year. The Special Ed and Art departments have tables, and we open it up to students who are makers as well. Thanks for watching.

there is some overlap of your show content and your wrap up content at about the 10 minute mark. thanks for the informative video. i did craft shows for 21 years and miss them, but they are a lot of hard work!

I appreciate you letting me know. It must have happened in the final stages of production. I had not noticed. I'll see if I can fix it.

It looks like I won't be able to fix it. That is so strange. Sorry for the distraction while you were watching.

There is another one in November - In Hamilton, there is an open air market in Westdale every Friday. Not sure what the vendors are like though. I just learned about it today.

Hi, Amy. Nice set up. I confess I enjoy going to craft fairs, and I'm particularly drawn to booths that sell handmade purses, bags, and wallets, so you had me hooked there! I don't buy many---probably because I search and search for just the right layout for me. So what I do buy, lasts me for years! And, thanks to you, I'm one of Stephanie's subbies. I have gotten many useful ideas from her.. That bowl she made is amazing. Thanks for letting her share a bit of herself with us. She and I share an interest in journal and bookmaking. Lots that I can learn from her! Always good to see you, Amy. Wishing you a smooth start to the new school year! 🧵🪡. From Cheryl in AZ.

I bought a fold over clutch- AND I LOVE IT! And a mask lanyard that I wore all day. I also love the Dayna bag, but I didn’t want to buy up all Amy’s stock…:-P

Hello. I am a seller and have done three craft fairs (pre-Covid). Gearing up for two in December. I sell a lot of dishcloths and car cupholder cozies (crochet a small circle...put in your cupholder to absorb moisture) and hats. I'm going to check out that bag pattern. Your friend has some beautiful earrings.

It is an awesome pattern and a super quick make - when I batch sew them, I get them down to 30-40 minutes each. The coffee filter pouch is a good seller (with great fabrics) and takes me about 20 minutes total.
