- At my recent Video "Dark Souls 3 PVP - Luck/Hollow/Bleed Build - Warden Twinblades - • Dark Souls 3 PVP - Luc... ", i´ve got asked a lot of questions about luck, hollowing, startingclass, etc.
so i´ve decided to make a seperate video, to cover all these topics.
the guide contains the following points:
- starting class
- early game tipps
- how to get hollow
- requirements for the full hollow-bonus
- how to get your first luck-scaling weapon
- how to get the coal for hollow-infusions
- where to farm hollow-gems
- weapon- and damage comparsion
- how hollowing affects your stats

i hope that the video covers most of your questions regarding luck/hollowing and i´d love to see more dark-sigil keepers out there :)
Edit: For Min/Maxing, you should start with the Warrior-Class (not Thief).

I didnt care about Horace, I cared about Anri's reaction to his death. That made me feel a little.
Flaming Jockeyz meh, anri's fate is pretty shit either way so might as well kill her, get her sword and be done with it.
+Flaming Jockeyz if you dont want to do it(like i do) you can just complete the Anri quest line with the "happy ending", it is difficult to do it, make sure to check a guide to dont miss any step. If you complete this quest with this ending you cant arch the "secret ending" of the game, if it is not a problem for you then go for it. If it is, you will need to complete her quest line anyways, but chosing the "bad ending" of it, if it can be called in that way.
Then to conclude, if you want to actually go throught the game and you dont give a fuck about quest lines just kill her, if you dont the way to obtein the sword will be different depending on your choise or proposals, either way will be anyways your final choise at the Anri's quest line.
+Harukoxd There isn't any benefit for Anri's questline, is there? You both kill Aldritch.. and then what?

I actually found the dagger to be an incredibly effective bleed weapon. beat the whole game with it.
Agree. Love it. I had so much fun backstabbing Lothric Knights and slapping their faces with one fully upgraded + blood infused (+ Pontiff's Left Eye). A sweet revenge for all the times they killed me when low level. With it you can bleed to death anyone who can bleed.
My 3 favorite weapons, all blood infused: Crow Talons, Crow quills (2-handed: run, LB jump, LB attack = devastating combo) and this knife.

Refreshing music, i liked it, wasn't overwhelming.
There is a staff you get from Rosaria after reaching covenant rank 2 that scales with luck. The luck scaling is huge, and even with low int you can put out some pretty surprising damage with just Farron Darts. It's a great compliment to any hollow build. Worth noting that weapon buffs don't work though. They add less damage than most resins.
I love the elevator msuic you've put on the background, it totally delivers on how the experience will be for another walktrough at NG+

Just a heads up - unless you're using that 11 attunement for some sorta spell you could get an extra 4 levels by starting as a warrior instead of a thief. But solid stuff man!

+BigHat Logan It's nice to see a guide that covers everything I need to know right from character creator. And you showed cased the build at the start. That's why I liked it so much :D
Starting as a warrior and using the Prisoner's Chain ring (which for the record increases your Vigor, Endurance and Vitality by 5 at the cost of 10% of your physical absorption), it is absolutely possible to end up on a 35(+5)Vig/35(+5)End/40Str/40Dex/30Luck (40 with hollow weapons) and be SL125.
I'm pretty sure that's the ultimate quality build for pure physical damage. With the Ring of Favor +2, Life Ring+3 and Steel Protection ring+2 you get a massive 1800+ HP and 178 stamina while completely negating the 10% absorption decrease from the Prisoner's Chain ring. Even in light armor you'll bolster 15%+ absorption. The Life ring or the Steel Protection ring can easily be swapped for something else should you not want them.
Extremely versatile and effective in all aspects while sacrificing nothing... That's just downright stupid powerful.
And with the beautiful new dlc, ringed city, you can get +3 ring of steel protection and +3 FAP ring early on

Or start as deprived and have ten everything and start as level 1
Its actually better to start as thief because the 4 extra levels in it dont make a big difference, you’d just be lower in some stats that arent really important in the build. Deprived gives you 10 everything and it sounds good, but for reaching a level, it really isnt.
Shitposter mcmylittlepony4chanpostermanwithafedora I still think deprived is the best way to go purely because all attributes are at ten and you are soul level one so you can level up way more attributes. Even from beating lundex you can already have higher attributes than the thief could

Add them all up, you don't gain anything lol. I know, I checked.
Depraved = 90 @ level 1
Warrior = 96 @ level 7
The same in total.
Deprives lvl 1 = all stats 10
Thief lvl 5 = 14 Luk 13 Dex
So by the time u invest in luk and Dex for deprived to be that of a starting thief, you would be lvl 7 deprived where as u can be a lvl 5 thief.

+Sterling Archer There's a hollow gem near the Farron Keep bonfire and another in the Grand Archives (darksouls3.wiki.fextralife.com/Hollow+Gem) or you can farm them from staff wielding corvians. Also the dirty pee pee bird can trade you one for Eleonora I think.

Worth noting that you don't necessarily get 1 hollowing each death, it depends on the number of Dark Sigils you have(which is equal to how many times you've leveled up from Yoel). The max is 5, which hollows you by 5 everytime you die.
max is 8, but the most you can get from just yoel is 5, you get 3 more from following yurias questline (although this is only really relevant if you clear your hollowing with a purging stone, as that removes all hollowing, but not the sigils)

After I saw this I made my own hollow bleed build so good pvp
You gain the amount of hollowing the amount of dark sigils you have in your keys section of the inventory, you get more per level up with yoel so it's better to get 3 or so before you start running off the cliffs for 30 hollowing for yoel's quest.

Lol hey man don't under estimate the bandit dagger, I've won matches with that thing. It builds up bleed surprisingly fast and it with a luck build and rouge buff it'd be crazy fast.
good guide. its really confusing how some dex weapons have better AR with no infusion than they do wih sharp. sharp gems need a buff

I find that depending on the build your going for, will change it up. If you're pure melee, I go vgr and some endurance and just infuse my wpn with fire or raw until I have about 30 vgr and then I start going into str/dex

Very useful guide thank you! I've read on forums that luck increases 2 other things, would be great if anyone could confirm:
1 - Parry Window - Luck [apparently] increases the number of frames where you can hit the parry button and get a successful parry off
2 - Invulnerability Frames - Luck [apparently] increases the number of frames in which you take no damage from attacks when rolling

No to both that's agility that does that.
+Butch Tunnel Snakes There's no adaptability or any stat that increases I-frames. However, there's a ring that gives you more at the cost of damage absorption.
Hi dude! Thanks a lot for your investigation, you are helping a lot the DS community. I would like to ask you 1 thing and recommend you another.
- Recomendation: in terms of maxing stats, if you don't care about attunement, I recomend you choosing "warrior" as your main class: . You will loose your 1 att slot as Thief, but you will win 2pts in VIT and 4 points in whatever stat you want.
- Question: ¿could you make a personal ranking on your most effective bleed weapons for pvp? :P That way we can know where its better to use our titanite slabs. Thanks a lot!
+Francisco Beuter thx mate. you´re right about the warrior-class - already put that info in the description. i think the most effective weapon regarding bleed-buildup is still the warden twinblade. my personal favorite for this build is the carthus curved greatsword, mainly because of the awesome moveset and the great damage-scaling.
+BigHat Logan I'm curious - is there not a reason to start as Deprived for this? Starting at SL 1 and having flat 10's across all seems like exactly what you'd want. Is there a reason not to that I'm missing?
+Christian Terford Deprived is actually the worst for any build if Im not mistaken. All starting classes have the same number of points at their respective levels. What you really want is to choose the build with the least amount of points in all the stats you wont be using. This is all for pvp oriented min/maxing builds of course. Deprived has points in everything, so unless you're making a build with points in every stat for some reason, its a bad choice.
+Christian Terford Go to MugenMonkey, dark souls 3 character planner. You can plan your character there and will see that depending on what stats you want to max or ignore, there are better clases than others.
For example, its useless to have 10 att (deprived) when you don't want to use spells, when the Warrior has 5 att and that 5 extra points have been invested in, for example, DEX, stat that you want to max out.

The dagger is quite good, even for gundyr. You just need to put 4 hit fast to get a bleed on him. And put it two handed to use the dagger skill that is good to evade
I'm currently making a hollow/luck/bleed build (or what ever you want to call it ^^) with the carthus curved sword. and luck was on my side. i only had to kill the corvian twice for dropping a hollow gem.
good guide, I understand this more now. for the luck boost to farming alone this is worth even trying. you tried farming covenant items in single player with a high luck stat? I started with the knight, but I can live with it not being perfect, this is just my first playthrough and I'm more interested in trying out different stuff at the minute.

I just finished doing a run with only the bandit knife. Pretty fun but the Lord of Cinder was painful with the knife.
Hollow builds are my favorite, especially against people who think they can just hold up a great shield in PvP. That's when I whoop out the barbed straight sad. and carts rouge. Bleed central...

why get anri's straight sword when you recommend playing with two hollow weapons/shield out?
Have you tried any luck + int/fth builds? I'm curious how they end up if you focus on buffing weapons with lighting, crystal, etc.

anris straight sword is best for luck builds as it already scales with luck, then you can carthus resign it and the bleed procs after like 3 hits (at 40 luck)
The dagger may suck but if you just spam on him you will get 4-5 bleed procs throughout the fight. doesnt take nearly as long as you might think
my strat for ludex gundyr is the start by bleeding him
then parry and riposte then try to bleed him out on 2nd phase and i was able to no-hit gundyr very quickly by using the dagger for bleed however that is if you do start with theif otherwise just warcry and murder gundyr
Herald also is a good class if you don't go for 40 endurance.

Love that funky frostdog. Is the point of luck only to produce more crits like bleed and poison? For something like winged knight halberd, you recommend a quality build instead?
+Alex Fovell It helps bleed and poison sure but hollow infusion makes your luck scale it. Winged knight halberd scales in str and dex so a quality luck build would likely give the highest AR as long as you hollow the weapon.
