I feel like sorcerer is my favourite build. When playing with strength build, it's hard to resist the urge to spam R1. But, with sorcerer, it always teaches me to calm down and think of different tactics. And, I love that not many people playing with magic build. @@Oniimanju I have a strength build I took into ng+ and I have 99 str (for fun) at level 150. Honestly it’s super fun to smack enemies around with the big weapons, and ng+ let’s me upgrade all the weapons I could ever need and get my health endurance and vitality up enough to play just fine with that absurd amount of strength. I recommend it if you have the time. Also don’t need to explore too much since strength weapons are easy to get

Really starts to come into it's own about mid-game, although you can still get one of the most powerful strength weapons relatively early-game with Fume Ultra Great Sword (FUGS). FUGS can carry you (although you'll be carrying it) throughout the entire game. That said, once you get to a point around late game when you start to see some of the benefits of poise, get accustomed to the slow, hefty, methodical-smashing rhythm of a strength build, and you're killing most things in 1 - 3 smacks, then it really becomes fun. Just get used to the idea of fat rolling. You should be poising through most things anyway - but poise (especially in DS3) isn't something you can rely on completely. If you want a taste-tester of a Str build, you can always explore a Quality build first, the Str and Dex combo. Quality builds will give you access to the best melee weapons in the game. It'll will essentially give you access to everything aside from the highest Str weapons, but the Str weapons you do have access to (all great swords, all ultra-great curved swords, most ultra-great swords) will give you the impression of what a pure min-max Str build would feel like.

Hey, for anyone who does not know, the clutch rings do not increase the advertised amount of damage. In pvp the clutch rings add only 7.5% for the -15% physical absorption. Honestly it is better to just use the dark moon ring or any of the other ones. Just thought I would clear that up.
Ok so there is a little bug I found that could be used as a sorcerer. When you dual wield staffs and you buff one of them with the weapon art, the second one also gets buffed, but with the buff of the one that you actually use the weapon art with. Now normally this wouldn't make much difference, unless the staff you use the weapon art with happens to be the crystal sage staff and the other one happens to be, oh I don't know, the court sorcerer catalyst. This makes for some immense damage
I made a pure caster sorcerer build using this guide and it is definitely my most favorite build so far. Thank you for such a in depth guide into making a viable sorcerer pvp build PvPSkillz.
My favourite playstyle consists of using Sorceries in my left hand and Pyromancy in my right! It gives a good balance between utility and damage, allows me to constantly keep my opponents guessing, and also lets me choose to switch between offensive and defensive play styles depending on what spells I run.
It looks great if you build your character around its appearance. There's a video somewhere on youtube that puts it to good use, can't recall what it is. It's definitely only for female characters though if you want to make it look good. That or secret traps.
Mkay one addendum. For extra virtual dexterity you can also add the whight tree branch and chimes to get the highest and fastest casting times. I believe the sorcery ring add 40ish phantom dex and each of the tree pieces adds about 30 phantom dex so you will cap out at 99 phantom dexterity for your casting speed
On my 3rd play through - 1st pure strength, 2nd strength/faith - and looking smart a melee/Mage for this one. Absolutely brilliant video! Keep it up man, some of the best DS3 videos - just earned yourself a sub.
spook also nullifies almost all non-lethal fall damage. (use a prism stone if your not sure, itll break if the fall is lethal) if you wanna save your fp as much as possible, spook can be replaced by the cat ring and slumbering dragoncrest ring. also if you have the lingering dragoncrest ring +2 and an item simple infused in each hand, you can easily time your recast of hidden body as it will wear off a second or two after you gain the 15 fp back.

10:26 That is the Lothric Holy Sword. After trading with another player or playing through new game, you can combine it with Lorians Greatsword to make the Twin Princes Blade, which can shoot "laser beams" and pull off wicked fire snake attacks. It is acquired by defeating Lothric and Lorian on top of the Lothric Castle. You can see the bridge leading to the boss room from the high wall bonfire.
I *love* that Moonlight Sword animation you put together. I especially get chills when the DS3 character guards with it and images of all the bosses that you get the weapon from flash on screen. Also, great video overall :D
Hearing that there's a Halberd that can also be used to cast sorceries, and also does fire damage just made this my favorite game in the series. That's basically my whole first character build right there in one item.
Onikiri and Ubadachi also has an S scaling in INT. It also is very good for pyro and faith builds in pyro with a B INT and B faith scaling and on a faith build with S scaling in faith
Just wanted to add some more information regarding the builds. Dexterity stops decreasing spell cast time after 50, this means that 10 DEX and a Sage's ring +2 will provided the fastest cast speed. ATT provides less FP after 35 and provides the most FP per point between 28 and 35. Additionally I believe that parrying an opponent and then hitting them with a spell provides a 40% damage increase, although not all sorceries are fast enough to take advantage of this. Soul Greatsword would probably be a good choice in this regard. Note that this I have not directly tested any of this information so please correct me if I am wrong. Fantastic guide, keep up the good work!

I'm still watching this in 2019 and I just have to say that when you transition to different areas, that was pretty nice. Very well planned and executed with editing.
Just a note: Especially for early Dex sorcerers is the Rapier. You can get it in the first real area (Lothric High Wall) a bone stock Sorcerer can use it with no investment (So you can put it in any other stat, or build up Dexterity) and if you just want to poke-lock with it, you can use it in either hand. Left-handed, you also get a Parry, or Right handed, you can 2H for a Block break. Not really competitive in PvP, but it gets you through a lot of the early game, and scales decently as a off-hand Parrying sword (With a cheap poke, if you're good with Parries.) It's also extremely light, so it's an early option many Sorcs overlook when the game is at it's hardest. (Before you build up much Power.) Honestly, it's my favorite offhand weapon, because you don't even have to invest in it, you can just combo off it's chain-pokes, and parries with anything in the main hand.
I really like the transition editing you do between segments where you switch between games and scenes using the character animations as a base. Nifty stuff man, keep it up.
There's no stamina regen difference between 30% capacity & 70% capacity FYI. And yeah OP dump an extra 8 points in to VIT, that will increase your options significantly.
I think there's some changes to the I-frames during a roll between 30 and 70%. Kind of minor compared to the quick and fat rolls before and after the percents, but its there.

So am playing through as a pure sorcerer right now, and honestly it’s not so bad. About to head through the cathedral of the deep and have been using great magic weapon on a raw long sword with the heritic staff with soul arrows, it’s been pretty powerful.
nah, the dark moon blade is myth. It doesn't exist in the game. There is a lightning blade in it. | The best miracle build is 10 faith and 14 attutement + tears of denial. Equip the the +5 faith ring and cast it. Then remove the ring. Morion lade left hand, red tearstone ring. Congrats, you are beast now
Eden Matrix that's the twin princes great sword. You have to transpose lothric's holy sword and lorian's greatsword. After that you will have the option to combine them to make the twin princes GS.
Eden Matrix you only need Lorians straight sword and you'll get the beam effect, but if you get the twin princes great sword it would be better due to stats and stufff
i good weapon combo i found is using a crystal lothric knight sword for speed, and using the greatsword of judgment. it may hurt your carry load but with them in your right hand and a staff in the left with farron flashsword and other spells with varied cast speeds will make your enemy panic. this only works in PvP, not so much in PvE.
After putting in hundreds of hours as a mage, and being a top level fighting game player... Use 60 int 30 attune, throw a regular old halberd on, use 20-28 end and as much hp/weight you can for defense, with court sorceror on left hand, rings magic clutch, sage ring +2 bellowing and young dragon, and crown of dusk. Spells use homing soul mass, crys soul spear, great soul arrow, white dragon breath and the fifth spell change it between whatever, great farron dart, greatsword, crystal hail or farron hail or ghsa, or snap freeze or great soul dregs or crystal magic weapon for a much stronger halberd. This build is top fucking tier, it's only weak to curved greatswords running spam because you have to think about stamina when dodging the running spam or have great farron dart to punish them, everything else falls to those spells used with respective strategy, don't wanna go into them because tldr.
Good video, but I have some editing complaints (I know the features I'm about to say would have been very time-consuming): The footage you show when talking about items, especially each spell you recommend, is not helpful, and just confusing. What would have been better?: For all items (equipment and spells), show briefly where to find the items. Additionally, for spells, show that spell being preformed, several times, on PVE enemies. You could have shown PVP footage (with many spells being used) once you were talking about builds. These complaints apply to your Pyro and Faith guides as well. However, overall this video (and the others aforementioned) is still good and helpful.

SL 140 Assassin Vigor: 40 Attunement: 24 (4 slots) Endurance: 20 Vitality: 25 Strength: 20 Dexterity: 20 Intelligence: 61 Faith: 9 Luck: 10 Spells: Great Farron Dart, Great Soul Arrow, Crystal Soul Spear, Soul Greatsword (switch out for some PvE scenarios) Rings: Chloranthy, Bellowing Dragoncrest, Sage, Obscuring/Magic Clutch Weapons: Moonlight Greatsword, Court Sorcerer Staff This is my sorcerer’s set up and I find it insanely powerful in invasions, particularly as an Aldrich Faithful. I can also use other weapons such as Crystal Astora GS, though I don’t often as the Moonlight is faster, uses less stamina, and is more versatile. For ganks in Pontiff area you can hang back to destroy low health hosts or phantoms with your Soul spear. Btw, Moonlight Greatsword’s weapon art is GODLY, and great for punishing. Consider it as you for heavy attacks on say the Fume, ie a punish to overly aggressive duelers.
You could also have mentioned how overpowered great magic shield is. Combined with most standard shields it become much stronger than a great shield. You literally take no stamina damage from any attack (or damage for that matter) . It's super useful against ultra great weapon users, that thinks they can break your guard and then proceeds to exhaust their own stamina.
I hope you go as in Depth on Pyromancy Builds as you did on Sorcerer Build! I've been subscribed to you since the beginning and i want to say i appreciate the huge step forward you made with your editing and commentary, still one of the best pvper's i know too. Thanks for uploading and can't wait for some of that Pyro!

Well the buff is just 12% and for -30 absorption in magic , I would say it's not even that useful. So fashionsouls for life

tbh Fashion Souls is a real pain for me on my mage, because I only have 7 base vitality so my armor options are super limited :c
There's no stamina regen difference between 30% capacity & 70% capacity FYI. And yeah OP dump an extra 8 points in to VIT, that will increase your options significantly.
I think there's some changes to the I-frames during a roll between 30 and 70%. Kind of minor compared to the quick and fat rolls before and after the percents, but its there.

Doesn’t saint bellvine increase casting speed? Switching between it and the candlestick can further help to throw off your opponent in regards to your casting speed
So am playing through as a pure sorcerer right now, and honestly it’s not so bad. About to head through the cathedral of the deep and have been using great magic weapon on a raw long sword with the heritic staff with soul arrows, it’s been pretty powerful.

The best miracle build is 10 faith and 14 attutement + tears of denial. Equip the the +5 faith ring and cast it. Then remove the ring. Morion lade left hand, red tearstone ring. Congrats, you are beast now
Nah sunlight spear and sunlight stake hit like trucks
lacunarikain2 You have to get the melee hit with sunlight spear which is hard to do if your versing a good player if they can anticipate it

Eden Matrix that's the twin princes great sword. You have to transpose lothric's holy sword and lorian's greatsword. After that you will have the option to combine them to make the twin princes GS.
Eden Matrix you only need Lorians straight sword and you'll get the beam effect, but if you get the twin princes great sword it would be better due to stats and stufff

Would you recommend the lothric knight sword for a build? it also has S scaling in intelligence when infused with the crystal infusion.
i also wanna know im using 1 and 4 build of the video
i good weapon combo i found is using a crystal lothric knight sword for speed, and using the greatsword of judgment. it may hurt your carry load but with them in your right hand and a staff in the left with farron flashsword and other spells with varied cast speeds will make your enemy panic. this only works in PvP, not so much in PvE.
After putting in hundreds of hours as a mage, and being a top level fighting game player... Use 60 int 30 attune, throw a regular old halberd on, use 20-28 end and as much hp/weight you can for defense, with court sorceror on left hand, rings magic clutch, sage ring +2 bellowing and young dragon, and crown of dusk.
Spells use homing soul mass, crys soul spear, great soul arrow, white dragon breath and the fifth spell change it between whatever, great farron dart, greatsword, crystal hail or farron hail or ghsa, or snap freeze or great soul dregs or crystal magic weapon for a much stronger halberd.
This build is top fucking tier, it's only weak to curved greatswords running spam because you have to think about stamina when dodging the running spam or have great farron dart to punish them, everything else falls to those spells used with respective strategy, don't wanna go into them because tldr.

Good video, but I have some editing complaints (I know the features I'm about to say would have been very time-consuming): The footage you show when talking about items, especially each spell you recommend, is not helpful, and just confusing. What would have been better?: For all items (equipment and spells), show briefly where to find the items. Additionally, for spells, show that spell being preformed, several times, on PVE enemies. You could have shown PVP footage (with many spells being used) once you were talking about builds. These complaints apply to your Pyro and Faith guides as well. However, overall this video (and the others aforementioned) is still good and helpful.

This is my sorcerer’s set up and I find it insanely powerful in invasions, particularly as an Aldrich Faithful. I can also use other weapons such as Crystal Astora GS, though I don’t often as the Moonlight is faster, uses less stamina, and is more versatile. For ganks in Pontiff area you can hang back to destroy low health hosts or phantoms with your Soul spear.
Btw, Moonlight Greatsword’s weapon art is GODLY, and great for punishing. Consider it as you for heavy attacks on say the Fume, ie a punish to overly aggressive duelers.

well you can get the flashsword early on and that thing is so quick that it ends up doing a lot of damage in pve
You could also have mentioned how overpowered great magic shield is. Combined with most standard shields it become much stronger than a great shield. You literally take no stamina damage from any attack (or damage for that matter) . It's super useful against ultra great weapon users, that thinks they can break your guard and then proceeds to exhaust their own stamina.

Never been one to use the soul magic in any of the soul games but I may try this because I want to use a new kind of build. Love the videos btw.
I watch your vids for a long time now (since DS2 release I think) and I very liked it always, your way to explain things and in mist of your videos you are talking about the lore behind the weapons and so on. They are getting better and better, you are using new effects very well and the timing of the cuts is almost perfect! Keep going on that way!
