When I first started One Piece I had this idea, and thought it would be cool. But now I think it's unnecessary. I don't want Luffy to be the next Roger. I want him to be unique, and surpass Roger even.

I think Roger was made to be that classic pirate. No devil fruits, just pure badassery and that Shanks tried to copy that format. But with this new generation devil fruit usage seems to also be a big part of the new generation.
That space is filled by shanks so I'd doubt it.

i know people have their fantasies about shanks but what other real role in the story will he play in the future? right now, shanks and ace have the same role. a powerful person that luffy respects and looks up to and needs in his life but only sits in the background of the story. and if you believe the theory that one piece is repeating itself, then it's further evidence that shanks will fight BB and lose. he can't win because of plot purposes.
the only other way he could show up in the story and become a major player later on would be if he was faking his nice shit all along and he was actually evil, which is a theory out there, but there's no evidence to suggest that whatsoever.
so tell me what your theory is about shanks in the future. and please don't include fanfic like "luffy will give shanks the hat back and shanks will show his time-time devil fruit off against Super Saiyan blackbeard and they'll live happily ever after."

Here’s my theory behind Roger’s devil fruit.
What if like Zoan type having multiple models of the same fruit, Roger had a Paramecia model of Doflamingo’s string Devil Fruit, the Ito Ito nomi, except Rogers is the Ito Ito Nomi Model Hair.
Aka, Roger can control string, but he can control and manipulate all the hair on his body, specifically his nose hair that Oda later redoes into a moustache.
Now imagine this as a fighting style, Roger holding a sword in either hand, two-sword style, and then all of a sudden his moustache starts moving and grabs two smaller swords, for a badass four-sword style.

someone should know about these powers in the past if they have been around
because previous holders of the fruits haven't gotten famous enough (couldn't use them too full potential) to be recognized.

Sacreed So? I would love to see a actually back story on him. Also it may effect Chopper and have him truly understand why he was so obsessed with cherry blossoms. It's just a small theory that would be interesting and cool if Oda could tie into Wano
We wouldn't get every youth story of "parents" of straw hat crews. I think that's just normal and fair. To list it:
- Monkey D. Dragon's past (or maybe even Garp's...?)
- Zoro's parents's past (or at least the dojo's past)
- Yasopp's past
- Bellemere's past
- Vinsmoke Judge's past (or at least Zeff's past)
- Hiluluk's past (or at least Kureha's past)
- Nico Olvia's past
- Franky's parents's past (or at least Tom's past)
- Brook's parents's past
- Jinbei's parents's past
- and additionally, maybe Nefertari Cobra's past
You see that long list? Now you know why we wouldn't get any of their story.
You list people who might know Roger and stuff, and yet you don't list his right hand man, the one he knew the most, Silvers Rayleigh

Remm If this theory ends up being true then that's some big inconsistency on Oda's part. He's an amazing writer. He wouldn't have his main character have the same power as the former pirate king without it being hinted at.

PS: When an owner of a fruit dies, the nearest fruit becomes that fruit. Say Luffy dies in front of an apple, for example, that apple would become the Gum-Gum Fruit. Therefore, when Rodger died, and an enemy ship had a fruit in, that fruit became the Gum-Gum Fruit. Or perhaps, they left that ship alone because they didn't know it was there. Then, when Shanks got his own crew, he found the ship and raided it. Then he brought the devil fruit to Luffy's hometown, then Luffy ate it.

I looked at the wiki for Roger, and the pictures on there right in the beginning remind me A LOT of Blackbeard. Like put the teeth back, clean up the beard, and their smiles look a lot alike, same with when they are yelling. What if Blackbeard was a secret son of Roger, like from when he was younger (he had Ace when he was like 50 so he could have had one before that). This could be why Shanks knew of Blackbeard even before he got the Yami Yami no mi, and said he was already very dangerous. Also could be why Blackbeard was crying as a child, why he has such an obsession with being the King Of the Pirates, etc. Seriously, why else would Shanks of all people have known about him, and was even hurt pretty badly by him way before he had the Yami Yami no mi....

My issue with your debunking of this Theory, not that I'm saying that I hold this theory as I hadn't even heard of it until I saw your video, but my issue is that you're presuming that Rodger would have eaten the double fruit. The first time we saw the devil fruit in question, Shanks kept it in a chest. There was no mention at least in the anime of Shanks being willing to eat it or what they were even planning to do with it. So here I'm positing an addendum to the theory that it's not so much that Rodger ate the devil fruit but had it for some purpose such as rewarding a loyal crew member with. But you are correct in that there's been no evidence that Rodger even held a devil fruit in a chest or in his hands or in a sack or had one in his possession at all, other than that the devil fruits are one of the most sought-after prices in some circles and Rodger was known to have had fame, fortune and everything people want, leaving at least the possibility that he had at least one devil fruit in his horde if for no other reason than to say I have devil fruit, do you want it?
