Theory, the straw hat was considered a crown in the void century and the significance of luffy having one is evidence of his claim to royalty.
That claim to royalty could also be a large driving force behind his fathers army. The royal family of D that is a threat to the celestial dragons.
But he got it from shanks who got it from roger. I saw somewhere where a guy talked about it possibly being the ancient weopon uranus and the ability would be to make an ally out of everyone

i stopped keeping up with one piece manga and anime since mybe the end up the dressrosa arc, then recently i started getting back into it hardcore again, holy shit everything thats happened since zou, big mon, to the current chapter i finaly just got caught up to, i missed out on so much good one piece discussions, so through all those holy shit WTF or OMFG moments consecutively in a row had me really freaking out jumping out of my couch kinda way, just oda is a brilliant story teller

it's a tool to identify the most recent and BIGGEST threat to its owner. Since Im-sama is the owner/the king of the world, it embodies a strawhat/an iconic characteristic of Luffy, who currently is predicted to be the biggest threat by the tool Im-sama possesses.

Lonnie Dearing I mean Tekkai is kind of irrelevant with the introduction of armament. Technically speaking, armament should be a strictly stronger version of Tekkai. So if you have to coat your Tekkai with armament that either means your Tekkai is dog shit or your armament needs serious work. Armament infused Ryokyogan however...that shit would be very scary to be hit by. Armament infused Shigan as well would be nasty, probably similar to Doflamingo's string shot which was capable of creating large explosions upon impact with the ground.
ace power Shanks himself states that blackbeard DID not cheat, that shanks was expecting the attack and it still went through. Also luffy didnt really wound anyone, he was back up like nothing happened in no time. He "overreacts" to pain because he perceives it more than normal humans, but that doesnt equate to being wounded. I like Lucci, but I find no way for him to get strong enough to survive a hydra to the face in two years, plot convinience or not. Hell, I think even luffy would still have enormous trouble dealing with magellan. I hope Oda doesnt take that route.
I think the clan of D were the rightful kings of the world befoure the void century and were over throne by the world nobles. Joy Boy was the king in that day and tried to save everyone and stop this coup.

I have a theory that i would like to share with you all, in the hats chamber there are (as joyboy reffered) 7 openings or 7 spaces and the hat is on the middle one, the one with light, what if each space reffers to an era, a different time, being the first space the era right after the century 800 years ago? Each space has a simbol that marks its begining and now, the one with the strawhat has lit up marking the begining of a new era, an era that starts with the influence of the strawhat or luffy. This could be related to the quote from doflamingo that power degrades because in this case, the beggining of this new era marks the decrease in the world nobles power. Also as Tekking refers in this video, the chamber seems to have ancient tecnology and maybe it existed even before Marie Geoise (am I saying it right?) so maybe the first spacec refers to the void century era or one eve before that. Like the second space could have nothing, representing void. What do you think?

plausible, but I feel it's more likely it's 7 family's that inherited the will of D; Monkey, Gol, Trafalgar, Jaguar, Portagas, Marshall and ________ still one more family which is yet to be announced, and that hat is the hat of the jaguar family which are giants.
considering the world government was established at the end of the void century to bring order to the world, iIfeel it's likely that this under ground bunker/place was the last stronghold of joy boy and the 7 ancient family which held the will of 'D' that the world noble's defeated before taking control of the world.

My theory is that the large straw hat is resting on a tomb, and that tomb belongs to the pirate king Gold Roger and the large straw hat on the tomb.

i feel like the person who wears the hat is the ruler of the seas... joy boy probably had the hat because of his ties to poseidon. Roger had it because he obviously became "king" of the pirates, and now luffy who befriends poseidon and is destined to be "king". Also Roger had the will of D and so does luffy, so joy boy probably had the will of D aswell.

Personal theory. The straw hat was worn by the original leader of the “D” group when they fought the celestial dragons. When the king says that “the candle that should have been put out has once again...” he’s talking about the reincarnation of the original leader. Gol D Roger was the previous one, and now it is Luffy. No idea if it holds up at all, but after all, that’s just a theory

I've always thought that the Devil Fruit were actually man made during the void century. There's not a lot of straight up magic in the One Piece world. Oda tends to make sure that most things have actual explanations and reasoning behind them, although a lot of stuff does still require a fair bit of suspension of disbelief. Even with things that the characters believe to be magical, I like to think that Oda does have rational explanations prepared for them, in his mind. Plus it would make more sense for Vegapunk to be reverse engineering a man made fruit as opposed to deconstructing and replicating something that is purely magical in nature, using science.
Devil Fruits are 100% man made. Otherwise, why would there be a fruit that allows you to turn yourself into guns and swords? Or to turn people into toys.

@@enigmaboy8451 speculation, joy boy is connected to the void century or era. Joy boy is also thought of as a weapon of great magnitude. But if joy boy was an actual person this would be a solid theory as the possibility of giants being a prominent race makes sense for a possible one pice past.

I know it is a bit off topic but you did mention the op-op no mi and the ageless surgery so here we go. I have a theory about kaido hear me out. Kaido doesn't have a mythical zoan devil fruit like most people want to believe, kaido isn't human either. He is actually a dragon of wano that actually ate some form of the human-human fruit, possibly model giant or something. Then in his prime someone with the op-op no mi used the ageless surgery on him so he wouldn't age. This would explain a lot about kaido, why he is called the strongest beast, why he is so strong and doesn't seem to be able to be hurt or die and possibly with why he is obsessed with his whole crew being forced to have animal devil fruits. Back when chopper first joined the strawhats, he thought everyone would think less of him because he was an animal and not see him as a human and not really part of the crew. If kaido had this same fear maybe he is trying to compensate for this by making his whole crew part animal, so he doesnt feel like he is less than the rest of his crew because he was born an animal. Its just a theory though, let me know what you think.
