Crazy how people can't think for one second about how there are no indicators in this video that it was filmed during quarantine. It's busy in the airports, you're flying internationally on a FULL flight and there are no masks or stations to check for symptoms. It isn't hard to figure out it was pre-recorded. People just love to be angry and rage at others. I always love your videos Noel. I always fly United in the States but have yet to try this business class. Seems quite nice so I'm hoping when/if I can fly again I can check it out for myself. Thank you for the great content.

I live in Denver. Since Denver is a major United hub I pretty much have to fly United. I am so happy with Polaris Class. You're right about that memory foam pillow. Polaris is definitely the best business class for getting sleep on a flight. I've always had trouble sleeping on planes but not in Polaris class. It took a couple years after they introduced Polaris Class to renovate all the lounges. I'm glad they have finally completed the lounges. The lounges are among the best.
What a gorgeous sunset... I think this is perhaps the most photogenic video of yours I have had the pleasure of watching (appx 40+). I just love that tunnel at O'Hare. I have noticed many U.S. airports are in the upgrade process over the couple of years.
My penultimate long haul flight before Rona Times was on a United 787-10 in regular economy in February 2020 from JFK to CDG, and I think that was the best economy product I have flown on transatlantic. It was so good, I have to admit.. it is 100% worth the risk of being dragged indignantly off the plane because it was overbooked.
I’ve flown United internationally since before Polaris business class. Back then I would buy an economy ticket then upgrade. Now I just buy an international business/first ticket outright. As a matter of fact, because my trip to the UK and Germany last May was canceled by COVID, I have a business class voucher to use. Spot on about the Polaris lounges much nicer now. United domestic lounges are crap. However, the Asians, in general, still have the better lounges. Also, ANZ in Sidney, Australia is a great lounge. Qantas lounges are very good especially, Sydney, Melbourne and Perth. There I usually “steal” a couple of Aussie beers at the lounge on my way home to the USA. Great video. Cheers.
I think Polaris offers (for the most part) a fantastic hard product and the food improvement has been noticeable. In fact, all classes on the refurbished 763 are fantastic. The 767-300 is surprisingly fuel efficient for being so old and I honestly hope that United picks up a few tails from Delta and American as they ditch theirs. With lower demand for the next few years, the 767 and 787 seem to be “right-sized” versus 77Ws.

I know United gets a lot of hate, some deserved most not, but in the twenty years I've been flying I've flown nearly all of it on United or Continental. And nearly every flight has been great. The horror stories I've had have been nearly all on American, with a few on Delta. This stupid virus... I can't wait to get back in the air.
I agree. Media played a big part with that doctor that was beaten out of the flight and wasn't even the United people doing that. It was airport security. But they unfairly took the heat from it even though it wasnt United employees that dragged and beat him out.
United is horrible! I’m currently a Premier Platinum member in their frequent flyer program and can’t wait to use all my points so I can stop flying with them. The way I have been treated by them is appalling. I’m sure my experience is not unique. I hope they go out of business. They do NOT deserve a tax payer bailout.

We had a chance to fly United first class.....Honolulu - Las Vegas.....was very impressed with the seat comfort! Enjoyed it very much and think it's the BEST!!....food was ok/rice hard.... and served BENTO STYLE....

You mention how old the aircraft is (almost 20), but that one is actually a rare NEWER -300ER. The vast majority are 28-29 years old, delivered in 1991-1992. They all have Polaris, and will be UA’s only aircraft to wear 5 different liveries. Some have already been repainted into their 5th UA livery
I remember UA used to be in Term 2 and occupied Concourses E & F during all of the construction of B & C. When concourses B & C were semi-opened E&F were still being used but given up and occupied by I don't which airline took it over that point. My dad thought it was a pain in neck getting to and from the gates from the tkt counters everyday while work there.
United is still in Term 2, and still in E/F, but its now all United express flights over there, which are the small planes lyk the CRJ 200/550/700s. There mainline flights are in B, C with all the 737s, and Airbus 319/320s, and few wide body gates with the 767-777s. Plus gates at T5 international.
Another outstanding TR Noel. I've never ever flown over Canada heading back to the UK in the light...I've flown from LAX probably 18 times and other parts of America probably 6 times...always winter time.

Noel, when was this flight? United has improved their service offerings the past couple of years. Haven’t flown them yet on international flights but have flown them to Hawaii several times. And the crew has always been the best part.
Wow that boarding "greeting" from every crew member you passed perfectly illustrates my past experiences with United's service in general. I now avoid them at all costs
I am always amazed when I get off a plane and see the mess other passengers leave around their seats. I would hate to go to their houses if that's how they live. Some people are real slobs on a plane, and I don't just mean in Economy, Business Class is normally the worst.

My speculation: United replaced one of its older 767s that would have needed major maintenance + cabin refurb with the relatively young 767 ex Hawaian, With demand way down, and Delta downsizing from 777s to 350s/330s, I wonder if United might not run with 767s instead of 777s. This would mean United would likely want to receive pending 787s since they cost less to operate.

I am a former Cabin Crew ( Not United but another US Carrier) and watching this years after quitting doesn't surprise me that it doesn't matter how much money the airline spends on the interior, the problem with them is the CREW. US carriers are quick to blame foreign airlines like emirates over unfair competition but in all fairness, US carriers are a joke because the cabin crew who does the international flights has been serving for over 35 years. Just the sheer fact that upon u boarding the cabin pursur was picking his nose and he couldn't fathom to bring himself to say a simple hello. If i were u it would have appalled me and i would have written to the corporate with a iron fist, You passed two crew members who didn't even acknowledge ur existence because in all honesty they all have second professions and businesses... they have set schedules in which they do one maybe 2 international flights a month and THEY DONT GIVE A RATS ASS ABOUT THE SERVICE OR THE PASSENGER. The average age i saw as usual was over 55, rude, unattractive and a ugly attitude to match the looks. You think they were run to u?, Try being a young crew being placed with them on one of those long haul flights and if u could be the fly on the wall in the galley....u would be shocked. I remember my first long haul where i was the only mid 20s crew member and it was my 5th flight since i was part of the multilingual crew. The Pursur and other FA were so rude to me. I was constantly yelled at in the galley and by the end of the flight i was so scared of them and angry inside that i had to contain myself not to blow up. They were rude to customers....all throughout the flight did their side work which was doing paperwork for their own at home business or talk about their grandchildren and looked so bored and unbothered by the whole trip that i was perplexed as in why the hell did u even come to work if u hate your job too much. Once i got to my hotel for a two day rest i was so emotionally shot that i slept in grave depression. On my way back i was livid and waited for one of the old bitch to rub me the wrong way and I LET HER HAVE IT. I HAD ALREADY ROUGH DRAFTED MY RESIGNATION SO GETTING FIRED WASNT MY CONCERN. I TOLD HER SHE SHOULD QUIT BEFORE A CORONARY OR A STROKE TAKE HER OUT. I TOLD HER SHE WAS A REPULSIVE BITCH WHO SHOULD HAVE BEEN FIRED YEARS AGO AND THAT THE AIRLINE WAS A COWARD TO KEEP A BULLY BITCH LIKE HER STILL EMPLOYED. I TOLD HER TO NOT TALK TO ME FOR THE DURATION OF THE FLIGHT AND IF SHE DID I WILL MAKE SURE BY THE TIME IM DONE WITH HR SHE WOULD BE OUT OF THE JOB. I WISH I TOOK A PIC OF HER FACE. SHE GAVE ME A LOOK AS A DICTATOR WOULD GIVE TO A SLAVE WHO JUST REVOLTED BACK. THE MOMENT I GOT BACK I RESIGNED AND COULDNT FATHOM WORKING WITH BUNCH OF RAGGEDY OLD RUN DOWN BITCHES WHO ARE PISSED AT EVERYONE ELSE JUST BECAUSE THEY HAD TO COME TO WORK. BEGGERS CANT BE CHOSERS THATS THE ONLY REASON AMERICAN CARRIERS GET A FILL FOR MOST OF THE INTERNATIONAL ROUTES, IF THESE AIRLINES WANT TO START MAKING PROFITS, THEY NEED TO END THE SENIORITY SYSTEM FOR INTERNATIONAL FLIGHT.....FIRE THESE OLD UGLY CENILE CUNTS ON THE SPOT, USE ATTRACTIVE MEN AND WOMAN AS A MARKETING TOOL. GET RID OF 100 YEAR OLD CEASER SALAD AND TURKEY SANDWICH MENU IN FIRST CLASS AND RULE WITH AN IRON FIST. ITS A FUCKING MAFIA. How do you film things like getting on and off the plane without it being obvious and freaking people out? It's interesting to see day-to-day stuff like that.
I'm still a little surprised some lounges don't offer sleeping pods you can pay extra to sleep in, particularly if you have a moderate layover (say 3-6 hours). Even if they charged say $30 or $50 for 4 hours I think many people would go for that just to grab a few hour nap between flights. My guess is they probably completely gutted that 767's interior and that all you see is bsaically new(ish) interior (panels, seats, etc). Probably only the loo and structure (you don't see) is what remains of the original aircraft.
I don't know if it's "the best" and all that. However, it's a huge improvement over their previous business class for sure. I took a round trip from Washington IAD to Tokyo NRT about a year or so back now on one of their 777-200's that had the new business class. Used it on both flights. As far as the seat and setup goes, it's really nice. Would definitely give it the thumbs up to anyone who has the chance to use it.

Wow that boarding "greeting" from every crew member you passed perfectly illustrates my past experiences with United's service in general. I now avoid them at all costs

I am always amazed when I get off a plane and see the mess other passengers leave around their seats. I would hate to go to their houses if that's how they live. Some people are real slobs on a plane, and I don't just mean in Economy, Business Class is normally the worst.

My speculation: United replaced one of its older 767s that would have needed major maintenance + cabin refurb with the relatively young 767 ex Hawaian,
With demand way down, and Delta downsizing from 777s to 350s/330s, I wonder if United might not run with 767s instead of 777s. This would mean United would likely want to receive pending 787s since they cost less to operate.
That sounded like an Australian accent on the arrival announcement just after arrival. Wouldn't have expected that on a United flight.
Great video, I watched a video on the same service from Narito to LA.... yours is much better the way you present it. I liked the way you dressed in a nice polo shirt, I think when riding in Business it is great to dress nicely.

I am a former Cabin Crew ( Not United but another US Carrier) and watching this years after quitting doesn't surprise me that it doesn't matter how much money the airline spends on the interior, the problem with them is the CREW. US carriers are quick to blame foreign airlines like emirates over unfair competition but in all fairness, US carriers are a joke because the cabin crew who does the international flights has been serving for over 35 years. Just the sheer fact that upon u boarding the cabin pursur was picking his nose and he couldn't fathom to bring himself to say a simple hello. If i were u it would have appalled me and i would have written to the corporate with a iron fist, You passed two crew members who didn't even acknowledge ur existence because in all honesty they all have second professions and businesses... they have set schedules in which they do one maybe 2 international flights a month and THEY DONT GIVE A RATS ASS ABOUT THE SERVICE OR THE PASSENGER. The average age i saw as usual was over 55, rude, unattractive and a ugly attitude to match the looks. You think they were run to u?, Try being a young crew being placed with them on one of those long haul flights and if u could be the fly on the wall in the galley....u would be shocked. I remember my first long haul where i was the only mid 20s crew member and it was my 5th flight since i was part of the multilingual crew. The Pursur and other FA were so rude to me. I was constantly yelled at in the galley and by the end of the flight i was so scared of them and angry inside that i had to contain myself not to blow up. They were rude to customers....all throughout the flight did their side work which was doing paperwork for their own at home business or talk about their grandchildren and looked so bored and unbothered by the whole trip that i was perplexed as in why the hell did u even come to work if u hate your job too much. Once i got to my hotel for a two day rest i was so emotionally shot that i slept in grave depression. On my way back i was livid and waited for one of the old bitch to rub me the wrong way and I LET HER HAVE IT. I HAD ALREADY ROUGH DRAFTED MY RESIGNATION SO GETTING FIRED WASNT MY CONCERN. I TOLD HER SHE SHOULD QUIT BEFORE A CORONARY OR A STROKE TAKE HER OUT. I TOLD HER SHE WAS A REPULSIVE BITCH WHO SHOULD HAVE BEEN FIRED YEARS AGO AND THAT THE AIRLINE WAS A COWARD TO KEEP A BULLY BITCH LIKE HER STILL EMPLOYED. I TOLD HER TO NOT TALK TO ME FOR THE DURATION OF THE FLIGHT AND IF SHE DID I WILL MAKE SURE BY THE TIME IM DONE WITH HR SHE WOULD BE OUT OF THE JOB. I WISH I TOOK A PIC OF HER FACE. SHE GAVE ME A LOOK AS A DICTATOR WOULD GIVE TO A SLAVE WHO JUST REVOLTED BACK. THE MOMENT I GOT BACK I RESIGNED AND COULDNT FATHOM WORKING WITH BUNCH OF RAGGEDY OLD RUN DOWN BITCHES WHO ARE PISSED AT EVERYONE ELSE JUST BECAUSE THEY HAD TO COME TO WORK. BEGGERS CANT BE CHOSERS THATS THE ONLY REASON AMERICAN CARRIERS GET A FILL FOR MOST OF THE INTERNATIONAL ROUTES, IF THESE AIRLINES WANT TO START MAKING PROFITS, THEY NEED TO END THE SENIORITY SYSTEM FOR INTERNATIONAL FLIGHT.....FIRE THESE OLD UGLY CENILE CUNTS ON THE SPOT, USE ATTRACTIVE MEN AND WOMAN AS A MARKETING TOOL. GET RID OF 100 YEAR OLD CEASER SALAD AND TURKEY SANDWICH MENU IN FIRST CLASS AND RULE WITH AN IRON FIST. ITS A FUCKING MAFIA. I REMEMBER WHEN I WENT TO GET HIRED, NONE OF THE YOUNG PRETTY GIRLS WERE HIRED, I WAS THE GUY SO THE WOMAN DIDNT FEEL THREATENED. HAVE U EVER FELT WHY IS THERE SO LITTLE ATTRACTIVE YOUNG CREW ON THESE CARRIERS? BECAUSE THE CUNT WHO IS HIRING THEM IS A OLD HAG STILL FLYING DOING RECRUITING EVENTS HERE AND THERE AND SHE WILL NEVER HIRE A BITCH WHO IS 100 YEARS YOUNGER AND 30 TIMES MORE PRETTIER THAN HER IN THIS OR THE NEXT LIFE. THE PEOPLE IN MY BATCH WHO WERE HIRED WERE OLD, WEAK AND SOME OF THEM HAD RETIRED AND WERE LOOKING TO KILL TIME AND THOUGHT IT WOULD BE FUN. THE FIRST DAY OR TRAINING THREE OUT OF BATCH OF 18 WERE LET GO BECAUSE THEY WERE SO OLD AND WEAK THAT THEY COULDNT PASS THE SIMPLE STRENGTH TEST IN WHICH WE WERE SUPPOSED TO PICK UP A FULL SUITCASE AND PUT IT IN OVERHEAD BINS IN ONE GO. AND TO OPEN AND CLOSE HEAVY DOORS TO ASSESS QUICK ALERTNESS. THEY WERE KICKED OUT....SO HERE IS THE STORY . U WERE TOO DAMN KIND IN UR REVIEW. Unless u got comped by this jokester of business class, u must write a scathing review specially addressing the disgusting bald old creep picking his nose while welcoming passengers. i guess the old saying putting a lipstick on a pig doesn't make it pretty still stands true for every us carrier, Sorry for the long rant.:

I might sound crazy, but O’Hare is my favorite airport.
It's massive but easier to get around in than Newark is.
Denver above all. But, ohare is pretty easy to get around, and I do love the tunnel as well.
The SFO Polaris lounge is the best for sure
I'm still a little surprised some lounges don't offer sleeping pods you can pay extra to sleep in, particularly if you have a moderate layover (say 3-6 hours). Even if they charged say $30 or $50 for 4 hours I think many people would go for that just to grab a few hour nap between flights.
My guess is they probably completely gutted that 767's interior and that all you see is bsaically new(ish) interior (panels, seats, etc). Probably only the loo and structure (you don't see) is what remains of the original aircraft.

I don't know if it's "the best" and all that. However, it's a huge improvement over their previous business class for sure. I took a round trip from Washington IAD to Tokyo NRT about a year or so back now on one of their 777-200's that had the new business class. Used it on both flights. As far as the seat and setup goes, it's really nice. Would definitely give it the thumbs up to anyone who has the chance to use it.
