I’m 22 as well and I’ve been in the industry with my dad since 12 and doing sales since 15, I can definitely tell what brands are good for my area and which ones are complete garbage, and it’s all based on experience ( installing or seeing people install, doing roof inspections and finding what shingle was used and when the roof was installed ) there’s no rocket science to this, you just have to learn through your own experiences or someone else’s and not repeat what doesn’t work in your area

@@saulesquivel7085 my experience has been that GAF has cut a lot of corners to maximize profit. They were the gold standard 20 years ago, but thinning out products more than competitors, handling warranty claims very slowly, poor representation (at least in my area), working against local suppliers by selling to box stores and non-support of master elites has soured my opinion of them over the years. Can we all agree that asphalt shingles look like crap. It doesn't matter what the color is or brand. Any roofing system looks better. The only roof I would put on my house right now is metal roofing but there are some ceramics that look interesting.

    • @DavidSummerly

Asphalt is definitely one of the least sustainable options. Not nearly as long lasting as we’re told, especially through hail, wind, etc. Euroshield ♻️ Rubber Roofing holds up to storms better than any other residential roofing material.
