You are one of the very best on You Tube. You not only talk sense but your images are quality too. Thinking of ditching my Nikon z and adding an XT-5 to my x-pro and alligning my lenses.Just need courage as I’ve had a big Nikon forever.
Thanks for the comment Mark, glad you enjoy the videos. The Nikon Z cameras are excellent, so I’m not going to encourage you to switch, but I can say I still love the Fuji system 🙂
As usual, great images Andy. These are great suggestions for bad weather and when conditions are bad. Thank you for sharing, really appreciate these videos.
Wow, spectacular conditions! Almost all of my portfolio images are in objectively “bad” weather. Anytime the forecast calls for snow, fog, or rain… that’s the time to get out there! Really beautiful work!
Some of my best Mountain photos have been in bad weather. Often, if you can showcase 1 sub peak or rocky outcropping emerging from the clouds and fog, it makes the mountain seem even more immense than it would in clear weather. Leave it to the imagination!
I know megapixels aren't everything, light and editing have a huge role to play in sharpness and our perception of detail... but goddamn, those GFX100S images look infinitely detailed.
It has to be said, there's something about the files that really does look nice. The files in this video are downscaled to 4000 pixels along the longest edge, so about 20mp, but you can still see a difference
Your aerial footage is so beautiful, Andy. I've recently upgraded to the Mavic 3 Classic, but wonder if you've considered the Mini 3 Pro, given how weight is such a huge factor in your adventures. Take care, mate, and greetings from Australia.
I have looked at it, and it is very good. But while the video footage is outstanding for a drone on that size, the still images are significantly lacking in my opinion. Just been using the Mavic 3 Classic while travelling and it’s an excellent drone
So you had no problem shooting with the non-weather-resustant xf55-200 in the inclement weather? I'm thinking of having a Viltrox 13 1.4 xf for mountain photography, also nonWR, is there an alarm with that?
I love the colors and contrast in all of your photos. I am trying to recreate similar drama in my landscape photos. Is there any lessons / videos on editing photos in Lightroom ?
Sometimes you just need half an hour with a bit of the light shining through on a really murky day and it can make for an epic scene. They are often dramatic style photos that I love you don’t need much like you just need 20 minutes or so of epic life and you can get some great photos. You might get rained out for the rest of the day, but you will get some epic shots.
Thank you for these wonderful images and information. I would be curious to know with which camera you took these shots? I seem to have seen an X-H2, if so did you notice a difference with the X-T4? One last question if you have time. Did you use Fuji film simulations or is it processing on retouching software? Thank you again and good luck.
I put the camera, lens and exposure on the bottom left of each image in the video. The images were shot with a GFX100S and XT4. Since I recorded this video I've switched the XT4 with an XT5. Non of the images are shot with film simulations, all are RAW images edited in Lightroom
From any situation you find incredible solution. I think if you would be in dark cave you can make masterpiece too. How to begin to see as you are?. Difficult conditions and superb results. Talent or experience?)
Vision, knowledge and experiment are what we can call Andy Mumford photography.
Thanks so much, really glad you enjoyed the video

Wonderful - thanks. Having just arrived home after a wet, grey few days on Australia’s south coast it was very relevant.

I love your dark and moody photos! Does that mean I'm a more dark and moody person? probably....
Haha, maybe..but I didn't get the impression you were a dark and moody person in Lofoten, although we certainly had some dark and moody weather

It's also precarious to urinate on high, frozen peaks

Yeah, I love the way the low clouds interact with mountains. The potential is infinite
Exactly!!
Exactly! Sometimes the best light happens in bad weather and only lasts a few seconds

Absolutely incredible shots as always! May I ask why you used the xt-4 instead of the xt-5 for this trip?
Thanks so much for the comment. I actually recorded this video back in October and the XT5 hadn’t been launched yet.
great photos, I should do a photo trip to the alps too....
Thanks so much for the comment. You can't beat the mountains for photography.

Hey Andy, my backpack and my backside made it into your video. :) Hope all is well with you!
Haha, indeed Torsten. I'm sure there are some who think it's the best part of the video 😀 Hope all is good with you
Another breathtaking video leaving me in utter awe. Thanks for your efforts and sharing your experience. What brand is your beanie?
Thanks so much for the comment, glad you enjoyed it.
The beanie is from Icebreaker 😀

I’ve used the Viltrox a lot in bad weather and it’s fine
@@AndyMumford Thanks for the encouragement.

Beautiful images, wondering if you are using any filters on these images, or is it all post editing?
Thanks for the comment. None of these images have filters, they are all RAW files edited in Lightroom

@@AndyMumford I think being prepared too ...good clothing. Waterproof bag and camera that can tolerate some rain. Preparation is everything
