My Grandfather and my Uncle were farmers... My grandfather was literally the last of this dying breed in my family... After my grandfather passed away we had to auction off our farm... With it my memories... MISS YOU PAPAW...
Coming from a sixth generation farmer who is only 24 and my Dad is the fifth generation who have been on the same farm for over 150 years this songs really hits home for me
Our small family farm of only 126 acres dates back to the end of the Civil War. Our farm was handed to my Great Great Great Great Great Great Great Grandfather John Warner in 1866 who migrated from Germany and back in the 19th century you had to work the land number and make a profit before you became the land owner. My Great Grandfather Harold Warner, was truly the last of his breed when he past away back in 2001 because he was born in 1914, was one the first school bus drivers in our township here in central Ohio. He saw the transition of the mechanization of the American Farm from the horse drawn plows, to seeing his Dad buy their first tractor and thresher and from the thresher to the pull type combine and to today's modern combine. Pretty much all of the equipment we still operate on a daily basis was bought by him. My Great Grandfather had to girls and once my Grandfather retired his youngest daughter passed the farm to my Father. My Dad is a very hard working man because not only is he a full time farmer but he is also a thirty year veteran captain firefighter working 24 hour shifts every third day at Hamilton Township Fire Department. There is no better place than I would be than in the city for any given amount of time than on a tractor either hauling manure or running the combine. We raise wheat, corn, soybeans, some sweetcorn, hay, straw, and we also have 24 chickens and 3 horses to keep us busy in the winter. All the farm work throughout the year is done by the two of us.
My papa tuck was the last of a dyin breed, I'm really glad he was able to give the love of the country and the land and the cows and horses to me, before he passed, and now I know I wanna raise beef for a livin.
woo im one of the dying breed and proud of it. im farmgirl now and forever. this song descible me perfictly. many the farmers live on. and city people learn that food dosent come from the grocery store. thats where it gose after we put alot hard work in to growing it. hard work wont kill you! hate to tell you but ITS GOOD FOR YA!!

CopperHeadKTrain YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY RIGHT. YOU'RE IS WHAT YOU MEANT TO PUT. YOU'RE ABSOLUTELY RIGHT. NOT YOUR ABSOLUTELY RIGHT. YOUR ABSOLUTELY RIGHT IS ABSOLUTELY WRONG. YOU'RE IS A CONTRACTION OF YOU ARE. IF YOU CAN USE YOU ARE IN A SENTENCE AND IT MAKE SENSE YOU'RE USING YOU'RE CORRECTLY. LEARN THE DAMN DIFFERENCE DUMB SHIT
dude these are the kind people that won world war two. Guys that were used to shooting squirrels. Well them and scientists who walked around in the woods (Feynman). People that broke the sound barrier. Tractor mechanics like chuck yeager. None of those people were payed millions until after they were good at what they did. This was after they grew up how they did with nothing but dreams. I grew up on a farm.
