Thanks. Dishes like this were pretty common in Seattle, although surprisingly expensive (of course a lot of stuff in Seattle is surprisingly expensive)
Enjoying the back porch this cool Oklahoma early morning with coffee, Chef Buck and Camera Girl with a beautiful view of fog rising from farm pond in the valley... It's gonna be a blessed day! Have a great weekend Buck family! 🤗🌅
I usually cook rice with water, rice wine vinegar, sugar and a pinch of salt for sushi rice, then after I’ll drop soy sauce and the sesame oil when plating. I don’t add soy sauce to the mix or else rice will be dark and no sesame oil or it changes the rice flavors as it cooks. Toasted sesame oil is the better tasting flavor. Delish !
Thanks, CB & CG. What a delightful, light, summery creation! Me, I'm not such a sushi fan. So I would switch to a different set of textures, toppings and seasonings to make a Greek/Mediterranean bowl. But that's just me. I loooooove Greek food.
oooohhh that sounds good...something with olives and goat cheese...lately CG has been buying goat cheese with herbs and I've got quite a taste for it now
You can make a budget friendly protein is to use canned tuna with that mayo dressing, but make a little more Mayo sauce for added dressing. Trust me it works. I use this for my sushi bake. Ono !(hawaiian for delicious)
Yum... you all....I have everything except the cucumber and cilantro, so I will try substituting with red cabbage and parsley. Best recipe tips also....you both have a great weekend.
Love it! Thank you for a delicious and healthy recipe. Much success always! Best wishes from Massachusetts!💫💫💫❤️❤️P.S. I wanted to mention that I got bag of brown rice and don't usually use. So this is great and flavorful idea. Ty again guys for sharing your fun videos with easy and wonderful meals..🤩
Thanks!...I don't usually buy brown rice either since it takes longer to cook, but the "chewiness" of the brown rice works great in a sushi bowl, and it sure is easier to NOT OVEREAT brown rice than it is white rice
You plate so beautifully. It’s almost like you were a chef and did that for a living,ha ha. Definitely a dish I am going to make. It’s a great dish to make for friends in the summer months here in the desert.
I can't believe it's not already summer yet--it sure feels like it here in Florida. It's been hot for so long already this year, I keep thinking fall is right around the corner...I guess I shouldn't gripe, it probably feels a lot hotter in the desert...I remember being in Las Vegas one summer, and stepping outside felt like I was walking into an oven. But it's a dry heat they say! Definitely different than Florida heat...I guess it's the difference between being basted or broiled
The end result is beautiful and delicious. I think the avocado and the dressing really make it super. Of course I like the fattier part of a healthy salad 😂
I LOVE sushi but being diabetic I'll have to substitute the rice with...ugh...cauliflower, but overall this recipe looks amazing and perfect for the approaching summer. Great video guys!
have you ever tried canned unripe jackfruit? I haven't tried it in a sushi bowl before, but I think it would make a nice chewy addition to a sushi bowl, and maybe a good substitute for rice
@@ChefBuckRecipes I've heard of it but haven't had a chance to try it. I have a decent Asian store in my area and I'll look for it next time. I would have to check the sugar content though. If I do try it I'll let you know how it worked out.
Ooooh! I will be making this today. I'll be making mine with quinoa. Love that stuff! Can't imagine not liking cilantro, but if it tasted like soap to me, I wouldn't like it either. Also, I've recently replaced using soy sauce with coconut aminos, which is a great alternative if, like me, you can't eat soy. Great video guys!
thanks...I guess some folks have a specific genetic receptor gene that perceives cilantro as having a soapy taste, which is wild...I can't imagine being genetically designed to NOT enjoy cilantro (although I think I might be like that with bourbon)
Chef Buck, if possible use Kewpie brand Mayo, found in Japanese or Asian stores. Even the Korean version is a good sub (yellow cap) . Love the video. It’s a good trade or partner on nights I don’t want to do a sushi bake. Mahalo
Hey Buck, that mayonnaise liked you. Hey, on a serious note, have you ever thought about doing a compilation of your favorite cooking videos you have done over the years. I think it would be a fun video to see your top 10. Or like what if you are on a deserted island and you could only eat the same meals every day. What would you make.? Might be fun.
@@ChefBuckRecipes Hey Buck, I still remember when you were doing Waterworld videos. That was a good video. I had it in my comedy playlist. I think you took your stuff down. I don't see it up anymore. Naturally, I enjoy your cooking videos but I thought your comedy stuff was pretty good. I don't think RUclips appreciates our comedy genius.
You picked up that quinoa and I was like oh no 😮 Don't get me wrong. I do like quinoa. I love a great quinoa salad. I just I just thought oh no not in sushi bowl. Then you tossed it aside... perfect 😂
I like subbing quinoa in many rice dishes, but not in a sushi bowl...sushi bowls feel like a treat to me--even though I do take it light on the rice when I make them--but I think quinoa instead of rice would nudge this recipe out of the "treat territory"
Is this similar to a Buddha bowl? I was worried about this recipe because of ****raw fish!*** ! Thanks for not adding that! These are beautiful and I'm sure they taste just as good. Chef, do you know the avocado trick?? Take the half with the seed and push on the seed from the back. It pops out perfectly!! Have a great week, you two!! 🥰
I've never tried your avocado seed trick, but I will...I usually just whack the seed with a knife and yank it right out, but I was a little challenged on this occasion. I have a hard time enjoying raw fish; I'll order it occasionally at a sushi bar--or rather I'll order something that sounds good that just happens to have a raw fish component--but I'm never completely confident in raw fish...it just feels like NOT the greatest idea. Hope you're having a wonderful Saturday!
I've had that hot sauce...I can picture the bottle but I can't remember where I had it...it sounds like a ridiculous name for a hot sauce but I guess it's actually a great name since it stuck with me and I can picture the bottle
We moved around a lot when I was a kid...I think I'd lived in 10 different US states plus a couple of years in England before I graduated high school...so my voice is a hodge podge of sorts, although my family and the US south has probably had the biggest impact on the way I speak
Chef Buck, this is amazing because me and the hubs love all kinds of food, but please bring some more southern unhealthy recipes from the south. I’m getting bored of the Camera Girls influence.
Chef Buck, don’t forget the furikake. A more savory sprinkle instead if plain nori or seaweed. 👍👍👍👍👍
Your creative culinary genius is always amazing . I would eat that for sure. Well done you two 😁👍
Thanks. Dishes like this were pretty common in Seattle, although surprisingly expensive (of course a lot of stuff in Seattle is surprisingly expensive)

sounds wonderful...it's been a while since I've seen a lovely foggy morning. Enjoy the coffee! I'm on my 2nd cup :^)

An awesome sushi bowl recipe. Love the greens and other garnishing at the end. Thank you for sharing, Chef Buck and Camera Girl!!
thanks you!
Classic CB and CG video, love how you measure a spoonful reminds me of how my mom cooks. Sushi bowl looks great
Thanks! I'm not crazy about measuring--probably reminds me too much of school math!--but it's often not a bad idea with vinegar :^)
Very easy & healthy bowl. I love Sushi, this can be my dinner tonight. Best regards & thank you.
Thanks!
Omg you 2 are so fun to watch! Super goofy- right down my alley! Can't wait to try this recipe! ❤️
Have a great day!
YUM!!! Definitely making this soon
Beautiful!!
thank you!
That looks AweSome !! That sushi bowl what a twist!
That looks so good
thanks!

great suggestion...red cabbage sounds good for this kinda dish--it'd add a nice crunch and color...I like a lot of different textures in my sushi bowl
Love it! Thank you for a delicious and healthy recipe.

This looks amazing. I bet that sauce would be good with some sambal in it. Going to have to make this soon.
that sambal stuff is yummy...eating those hot spice combos from Asian markets is probably half the reason my bald spot's getting bigger
The end result is beautiful and delicious. I think the avocado and the dressing really make it super. Of course I like the fattier part of a healthy salad 😂
I'd leave off the edamame long before I'd part with the avocado
@@ChefBuckRecipes I feel that
This is one meal I am going to have to duplicate! Fun yum all the way.
hope you like it--thanks for watching!

me too...it kinda makes this dish

I haven't had sushi in a couple months! I never done the "bowl variant" of sushi though!
Tasty.
thanks!
Japanese Mayo is available at Kroger's and everywhere else
I will try this salad on this Friday 6/17/2022🙏🏼😇👍👌

the mayo 😂
Like !!!!!!

What's Chef Buck's dialect? A curious Finn wants to know.

hey, I'm influencing CG! (or is she just making me think that?)
youre so funny
Mayonnaise 😂😂😂
being an experienced meditator, I'm usually ONE WITH THE MAYONNAISE, but not always
I'm out on the sugar.
I usually like your recipes... but I would not call this a "sushi" bowl. Maybe you can call this a chicken salad with rice dish.
Lol.
