    I have made this several times since I 1st saw this video, Emmy. It always brightens my week. I take the leftovers to work for lunch. I prefer to make it with brown rice cooked in extra water so it becomes soft and it's sticky when it cools.

    • @ross-carlson

      Well given sushi raw fish but rather sushi = seasoned rice there is TONS of sushi a pregnant woman can eat. Common mistake that sushi = raw fish when it absolutely doesn't. I was a vegetarian for 6+ years and at sushi often.

      Thank you. Raw veggies and the like aside, raw fish is sashimi (which not all sushi has, and not all sashimi is part of sushi), and it's good to let people know about that misconception that sushi = raw fish. I dunno how Emmy made this mistake having lived in Japan as long as she did, and it does a disservice to her audience (especially people who might be afraid of trying sushi because they think it's all raw fish). Heck, kappa maki is one of the most traditional kinds of sushi you can get, and it doesn't have any fish at all.

    • @VictoryNibbles
      @VictoryNibbles 4 года назад +26

      @@08jam08 It's not. While mayo bacon sushi is a modern take, Emmy made a mistake in conflating sushi with sashimi (raw fish). Read my other comment for more details. :)

    The first time I was introduced to Sushi Bake was during my vacation in Hawaii to visit friends and family. I totally got hooked to the taste. imitation crab got boring after awhile so I switch to real crab. I also made other variations like salmon for protein. I also made other variations using other rice seasoning like salmon fumi furikake, seto fumi furikake, and noritamago furikake. This dish got me so hooked.
    I also made one with inspiration from gyudon but the shape of sushi bake. I seasoned the rice with sesame oil and sesame seed, a thin layer of sauce (Sriracha, mayo, and vinegar), then topped with the sweet beef topping.

      I just found out about Kewpie, and I love it! I think I'm going to try and introduce my parents to it, because it tastes a lot like the fancy French mayo we love, but that's impossible to find here. Funnily enough, Japanese mayo is actually more available, as long as you go to an Asian store.

    It does look DELISH, and indeed avocado sounds like a must after baking tho. I don't care for warm avocados.
    My only problem would be that makes so much and I dont knw if my husband would eat it, nor would I want to buy that much fish roe cause I'd never use it. I would love to try that bake for sure, but will need to adjust amount.
