Clear, concise instructions in a professionally edited video. Thanks for your help!
i tend to use this method in very thick weed, the lure can be pulled over lilly pads and left to drop in the holes in between its a really good method to get baits into otherwise un-fishable swims. however i wouldn't use a stopper on the bullet lead it is more effective IMO without as in heavy weed the lead will sink through and if free running it wont pull the lure in with it. i would, however, use a glass/plastic bead between lead and hook for more attraction - as the rig is dragging across weeds and such the bead and lead will rattle against each other. just my 2c. keep up the great videos
heart attak joe this guy is a homophobic a*hole and is telling me I’m going to catch aids and die....
Great system, well worth covering. Always have a couple in my box. cheers
I’ve bought my worms and weedless hooks, spoiled up my lure rod and reel and ready for my first rock fishing session this weekend while caravanning in Filey. This is a great intro video in rigging up Texas style. Thanks 👍🏻
Perfect, thanks mate! 🙌🙌🙌
Very informative video, well done 👍
Good tutorial. If you don't want to mess with float stops I find that wooden toothpicks work well. Just put the tip in the top (or bottom) of the bullet weight and snap it off. When wet the wood swells and holds the weight. Also makes it fully adjustable if you wanted to make it more of a carolina rig.
As Andy H said you can add a bead too. Might be harder to find but brass bullet weights with glass beads make a hell of a racket underwater.
Absolutely clear, cheers guys 😎👍
Looks like a versatile rig. Thanks for the demo!
Thanks you for your help.🙏 it maid life so much easier 😊
great tips mike as always could you please do a casting video as I'm having problems get distance thanks
I'm having the same problem. a casting video would be great.
Plzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Cool video mate! If I would have only one rig in hand it would definitely be the Texas rigz
That's the go to, here in Texas!
Nice one mate, looking forward to some predator fishing over the winter.
please do more beach fishing TAF!
Cheers Mike 👍
Hi Mike, a thought occurs... Would a snell knot on the hook make a positive difference to the lure?
I don't know if the lure slipping down the hook is ever much of an issue, but if so perhaps this would help. I know they make hooks with a corkscrew attachment at the eye for this kind of thing.
A spot of super glue should help
Thanks so much
Great instruction, thanks
Trouble with rigging the worm like seen at 2:55 is that it will tear the front of the lure and make it useless after a few fish.
The whole hook eye and bend behind the hook eye needs to be inside the lure.
thanks brother!!!
Mike hope your family safe well bud what's best to use for winter fishing texas or dropshot
Never thought about using the stoppers .i,ike that
Great video
FIRST FIRST FIRST!!
Was that Jaxx hitting the first comment button?
Plz can TA fishing mail me
hey i have a small question: what do you think about glass pearls in front of the lure directly between hook and bullet lead? I tried a carolina rig in a local lake but all i had were attacks on my lead (i guess perches just love to troll me) so i switched to a texas rig but kept the pearl. I couldn't test it out and i am actually new to fishing with non-live bait.
Hello, yes glass pearls can be good as the added attraction of the lead hitting the pearl/bead can lure fish. I really only use this rig when fishing for wrasse or Perch in snaggy areas. But I tend to keep the lead pinched up to the lure
Just came home from a short fishing day and caught a really good perch on a texas rig with a pearl and a creature bait in a crayfish design with a red colour which looks a lot like motor oil quite a fun rig to fish
Good, easy to understand video, thanks. I love your idea about using Marukyu Isome worms for sea fishing (response to James Bowden). Would you weight these in the same way? Also, because it is nearly always windy where I fish, how would you rig with extra weight for casting further?
please could you do some sea fishing.
if I could add one small thing that could help out someone maybe,, don't over look trying this way with a real worm, the big fat ones, creek fish love them.
here in germany we have a lot of catch and take trout farms where the use of plastic bait is prohibited. everyone uses that berkeley gulp paste crap moulded over the hook to be like a spinner. i cant stand the stuff, so using the texas and drop shot with real worms is my way around it ;)
Great idea I will try it on Australian bass
good tips but it doesn't feel like the TAfishing that we know and love without Graeme .
Great job...what size was the hook please ? Thank you.
Nice Mike:)
Can you do a feeder video pls
Sorry to bother you. What size offset hooks for what length plastic? Im gona try this as soon as I find out. My local river is really weedy but holds good size pearch and huge brown trout.
Mike would it be possible to do that with out that tipe of hook an I have bin out drop shotting to day was only ment to go out for an hr or two was out 5 hrs I dident think it was possible to have so mich fun caching little perch grate tips thanks
What are the shads you was using?
Can use this rig method with a wacky worm setup?
now show us a vid with you catching a fish on it ;)
Could you use a bb shot insed of a rubber stopper?
Interesting stuff that Mike, never seen that before, have you tried it before at all ?
Yes I use it when fishing weedless lures for Wrasse fishing
I dont understand why you are putting a stopper on? The whole point is the weight is supposed to be free of the bait to give it a more natural fall in the water. . .
Good video mate, can these hooks be added onto a clip wire trace or is it just better to add that directly onto line?
They can but if you want it weighted you ether have to make your own traces and put the bullet weights in the trace, or use the weighted hooks.
Please do carp in river
can i ask a question please mike. these are for sea fishing and rivers as you mentioned several times. i want to use these at the sea. my question: can these be used at night time or in coloured water? im in the severn estuary area in cardiff. dont want to need to travel too far west to get clear water. just bought an LRF rod but want to use larger lures too. thanks love your vids
How clear is the water? From what I remember the Severn estuary is quite murky? Which would make lure fishing very difficult as it is a visual fishing technique. By all means give it a go, I reckon you could do well hopping a scented lure on the bottom slowly, something like a Marukyu ISOME worm. But you will need some weight to hop it as the tide pull will be very strong. You could get flounder using this technique. Definitely add some scent to your lure as if the water is murky you will need to boost your chances of a fish approaching your lure. Hope that helps? - Mike
wheres a good place to go spinning around east sussex/west sussex in south?
Anywhere along that coast Brighton beach at high is a good spot salt dean at low water. just look at any coastline area at low and you'll see the area the fish love
What size hooks would you recommend for perch fishing? Thanks.
big!
their mouths are huge!
hi sir.. i need your suggestion. which brand of rod shud i match with my penn battle 2 6000 spinnin reel? a 10 footer will be a good balance right? i go for surf fishing bdway. thanks!
Sorry, but I have never heard of that reel, but most beach rods are 12 feet long.Providing you can cast a minimum of 3 ounces you should be able to use a 10-foot rod.But check with a tackle shop first.
have u guys ever fished at roding river?
i do and its ok
cool, what do you catch

if your going to use a weight and rubber rig stop then that should be put on before you tie on the hook, they cant be added after , you would need to untie the hook and start again, bit confusing for any newbees.?
