Lucy, I consider you one of the prized gems of the internet and I’m so glad my spelunking paid off in your wealth of corset knowledge. I actually enjoy perusing the eBay page, but I didn’t realize you get some a little something if we use the links, so if I decide to purchase something, I’ll definitely use it. Thank you for all you do, your information has helped me explore corsetry for back support and my TT Hourglass is my favorite daily wear that gives me some of my life back. You’ve made a huge difference in my life and I can’t thank you enough ♥️
Checking the ebay page on your website has been super fun for me in the past month or so that I've known of its existence. I hope you decide to continue with it, and thank you for sharing so much with us!
Hmm that reminds me I got 3 corsets that were uncomfortable for me and I’ll definitely never wear in the future. So probably should sell them and make someone else happy.
thank you so much for this video. I'm currently not in a position to buy a corset however the ebay page is really cool to scroll through and just see patterns and styles I wouldn't typically consider. ps: about to start constructing my first corset this week!! Your resources over the years have hugely helped me
Your ebay page snippits in the newsletter made me curious about what was availble in the UK and i found a red silk corset for under £40. Funnily enough it was originally from Canada.
You really need to study the photos well(blow them up a bit if necessary!),and read through all the description, and postal details. My tip is to contact overseas sellers to make sure any sizing matches that of your country. Ive got a couple of really nice corsets off ebay. If there arnt many photos,or a thorough description that should ring alarm bells, especially the words"as seen"!
I probably need to get around to contributing TO the Ebay list. I don't lace up anymore, and I've gained weight so it's a bigger squeeze than usual when I try. But you know... just having the possibility in my closet is nice. I think it's just a couple of OCs and an MCC that actually increases my back pain but makes me look hot as hell so... you know...
I do also love how there was a corset you have listed with no original selling price--the one photographed upside down?--but when I looked it up, the used corset is MORE than the current selling price 😂(It accepts offers, which is why I assume you still listed it, but it automatically denied my lowballs.) I DMed the seller and they never got back to me... Wonder why?
You're probably referring to the Isabella corset? That one needed context which I provided in my newsletters but forgot to add to the page itself so that my RUclips followers have proper context too - a few months ago, Erin (the owner of Isabella Corsetry) was hospitalized and couldn't take commissions. I debated adding some of the gently used corsets that were equal or higher than the new price, but ultimately decided that while Isabella was still on hiatus, if anyone was _really_ desperate to own something from her brand and didn't want to wait for Erin's recovery (or, God forbid if anything happen to Erin to cause her to not be able to make corsets in the future), then it would be a disservice of me to intentionally omit perfectly good corsets, and they were added to the page more for posterity and the sake of completion as opposed to "hey what a great discount this is!" I'd hope that anyone who buys the Ebay corset for more than the new price knows and they're intentionally paying a surcharge for faster delivery. To my knowledge, Isabella Corsetry hasn't announced that they've gone back to taking commissions, but here's more info about Erin's condition: www.gofundme.com/f/support-for-erin-bray039s-medical-recovery
Bought my second corset from Ebay and I wish I had considered the red flags before buying. The person clearly didn’t know much about corsets, but I went for it anyway since it was $30. When it arrived it was clear that it had been worn without a liner since I could see dead skin on the inside of it and the person also hadn’t seasoned it because the waist tape was almost an inch looser than it should’ve been. I haven’t worn it for a single time because I haven’t been able to get past the dead skin. At least I didn’t spend very much
The corset you are wearing in this video has to be in the top 3 I've seen you in. Perfect fit longline. What lace cover is that? Also, do you recommend re-boning a used corset so you can season it to your own shape Thanks.
The corset is by Korsettmanufaktur Tomto in Germany, the shirt is from Vanyanis. :) A corset with spiral steels should flex without holding shape so no need to replace unless they are damaged. Flat steels can be replaced if they are permanently bent - but seasoning is more about how the fabric is stressed, rather than the bones themselves.
