Mr Joy, you and Mr. Magnante are the top 2 reasons I enjoy Barrett Jackson so much. Good look into the car, its evolution, and its design. Thank you for doing this for Mr Magnante, and I'm off to find your channel. ~ Chuck
How fantastic of you to help your brother Steve with content as he heals after beating a nasty illness! Couldn't be happier for his recovery!!! Get well Steve!!!!!
Another first level car guy stands in for Steve. Much appreciated, Mike. First Hoovie, then Rick Debruhl and now Mike Joy. You gotta be pretty well thought of to have guys like this step in for you.
My College Diesel Tech Teacher had a old Sprite back in his youth. Him and his buddies SOMEHOW shoehorn'd in a 392 hemi. He said there was some "stopsign sheetmetal" bodywork done, but they got it to fit. Once done, they couldn't keep rear tires on it. I see the last few frames of The Flinstones opening, when the car flips over on it's side, due to the Brontosaurus ribs plate at the drive-in. Subscribed to Joy Riding. Thanks Mike and Steve. Hope things are getting better Steve, because we love ya and need ya.
Thanks for helping Steve!! Your barn find story was interesting and I will definitely checkout more of your RUclips channel. Please keep helping Steve! He's one of a kind!
Glad to see you stepping up Mike! Especially, given your own hectic schedule! Your voice, like Steve’s, has become like an old friend, or family member over the years! My Mother had an MG midget when I was three years old! No role up widows on hers! It was blue with a cream colored canvas top! I remember riding in it with her when she’d pick me up from the babysitters house! Somewhere around 1962 or 1963! She really wanted a Jaguar, however, she could not afford one of those,so the midget it was! The car fit her well, being that she was only 4’11” tall! Dad could not even fit in the car comfortably! He looked akin to a Shriner driving one of those bodied go carts in a parade! Thankfully, he had his Ember red ,1963 ,SS 409 Impala, 4 spd, car to drive around! That Beast fit his personality ,as well as his 6’3” frame, much, much better! Thanks again for doing the video for Steve’s channel! See you this weekend!
Thanks for your time Mike, and wishing the best for Mags recovery. Looking forward to watching you both again soon alway informative and alway at the top of the game.
Mike Joy....Thank you. Thank you so much for helping Steve by helping keep his channel alive. I am so moved by you and Rick Debruhl doing what you have done. Please help push people to subscribe to Steve's channel. God bless you and your family.
Awesome video Mike ,thanks for sharing. You know that all classics can't be saved but it's sure nice to know that even some of these classic parts will live another day somewhere else ! 😊
WOW Mike Joy Holy moly! Good to see you Mike I only see you on the Barrett Jackson broadcasts since I stopped watching NASCAR three years ago after thirty two years as a diehard fan. Thanks for stepping up to help out Steve. He does a super job along with Shane on this channel. Im 66 years old I miss the old NASCAR days of Earnhardt and Waltrip ,Mark Martin and the rest.
My bother had a mgb right after high school. I remember it always had this quiet little exhaust backfire every time you let off the accelerator to shift. Fun little car to drive, but an electrical nightmare! I was the "car guy" in the family and spent countless hours tracing down, and fixing eletrical problems on that thing, relays, switches, you name it. Every time I see a bottle of Lucas anything, I have flashbacks! Lol Thanks for filling in Mike, enjoyed the flashback. 😂 I hope Steve is doing well and hopefully he'll be %100 soon!
Thanks Mike ------ Yes -- I have listened to you and Steve for years on the Barrett Jackson Auctions ----- Rooting for Steve to pull through ----- I've got a '69 MGB-GT that I tinker with and am hoping this summer to do a repaint on her ------ Try to catch all the ---Junkyard Crawls to also help Steve out ------ You two have a -----VAST ----- knowledge of automobiles ---- IT'S ---- GREAT---- to listen to you two talk about the cars on the --BLOCK ------- AND you know ---- to hear Steve crawling around in the Junkyard talking about the history of the vehicles ------- If you see Steve ---- say HELLO ------- Hope you two have a Good Week ----- and will be watching ------ Rodney
This video came up and I thought "Mike Joy... why does that name sound familiar?" As soon as Mike started speaking I was transported back in time 40 years to NASCAR on TV at our house every Sunday.
That voice.. I've been listening to him since the early 90s!!! He got his start in 1970 at a local track near me which is unfortunately long gone now. Bur we still got mike!!
So very awesome to see Mike here on Steve's channel!! Just the shell of this MG, with all the sheetmetal would make an awesome project; maybe a newer Mini-Cooper S drive line for a true "sleeper"! Thanks Mike for filling in and for sharing your knowledge! 😎🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲
Thanks Mike! Great presentation on the MG Midget. My dad had a red '56 MGA when I was in High School and I could see the family resemblance as you presented the Midget - and good memories, too. It was very kind of you to help out Steve and I hope to see you again.
I had a Midget in the '70s. Learned a lot, because I was always working on it. If I decided I wanted a Midget now, I would buy a Miata with a manual transmission.
Thanks for helping out Steve! I have owned three of these MG's Two rubber bumpers and a very desirable chrome bumper RWA . I reckon at this point every little British car on the road is made from at least 4 other cars of the same model.
man...steve has a great group of car buddies.......but then again steve seems like a superb easy going guy.....respect to everyone for stepping up.....but it just goes to show how special and good steve is at what he does,,bringing anything to life and seem exciting,,, steve mags>doug demauro
Nice to see some British cars get some time on these channels. I have two Bugeyes, one has a Datsun engine and 5 speed, the other has the later 1275 engine and will be getting a Datsun 5 speed trans. Both are getting front disc brakes from the later cars, as the Bugeyes had tiny drums.
Mike, I met you briefly at Barrett Jackson Vegas about 8 to ten years ago and enjoyed our brief conversation. Hope to meet Mags one of these days. His progress after being stricken with encephalitis is amazing. God still has plans on earth for him. I enjoy your videos very much. Thank you. ❤
So cool to hear the lineage of the Midget originating from the bugeye Sprite. My mom and dad rented a bugeye in Nassau the Bahamas back in the early 60s. I uploaded some 8mm-converted film footage of it to my channel. Thanks for helping out Steve, Mike. I will sub to your channel. Been following your coverage of auto racing since the 1970s.
I'm a little abashed to admit I didn't recognize Mike Joy by name, but the instant he spoke I recognized his voice. I've listened to hours of classic car auction coverage between him and Steve. His voice almost has a sort of Paul Harvey timbre and delivery.
Hey Mike! I was hoping to see you in more things other than Barrett Jackson! Thanks for stepping in for Steve and sharing your knowledge. I hope to hear more from you!
Thanks for stepping in, Mike.
Well said , Gotta keep this channel alive
Steve has lots of friends pulling for him
Good guys typically do!
Mr Joy, you and Mr. Magnante are the top 2 reasons I enjoy Barrett Jackson so much. Good look into the car, its evolution, and its design. Thank you for doing this for Mr Magnante, and I'm off to find your channel. ~ Chuck
I completely agree with you and feel the same way.

The voice of Nascar! Thanks for filling in for the irreplaceable Steve Mags.
Great episode, Mike. Thanks for stepping in for Steve, hope he’s getting better every day!
Mike Joy is also one of the people I can listen to all day like Steve! Looking forward to Steve's return.
I was a NASCAR fan for many years. It is great to see your face again.

But thank you for filling in for Steve. You are a gentleman and a scholar.
Thanks for helping Steve!! Your barn find story was interesting and I will definitely checkout more of your RUclips channel. Please keep helping Steve! He's one of a kind!
Thanks for stepping in for Steve, Mike. You too have been a voice in my ears since the early 80’s and always love your info segments as well.
What an unexpected treat to see Mike Joy here. Miss you Steve, but this was great too!
This makes me happy to see you good people do this for Steve.
Glad to see you stepping up Mike!
Especially, given your own hectic schedule!

Thanks Mr. Joy for filling in, and for a great M.G. history lesson.
Thanks for your time Mike, and wishing the best for Mags recovery. Looking forward to watching you both again soon alway informative and alway at the top of the game.
I always hoped they paid Steve, Mike, and others well for their announcing ability. They are a big part of why I even watch those auctions.
Thank you for stepping up for Steve. That means a lot man. Forever in my eyes you will be a standup guy in my eyes. God bless you man.
Well said. I agree 100%.
Thanks Mike ❤ get well Steve 🤓❤️

My 1964 Triumph Herald had the 948 cc fire breathing torque.
Glad you filled in for Steve.
It's great to have some fresh content! A different perspective on the subject of classic cars and what it means to save them or not. Thanks Mike!
Interesting video, thanks Mike.
