In this video I'll show you how I layer and process my drop leads. I'll cover the layering, what to be carefull on it, and also we'll take a look how to process them. And we'll take a look on saturation, stereo imaging, EQing, reverb and delays.

Those are some simple lead patches and I think that's another thing you nailed. Layer simple sounds to make more complex ones. If you layer already full sounds, you'll often just make a muddy mess unless you get super precise with the EQ and processing.

How do you do filter cut off on lead bus? I never get it to work because the non bus leads Volume takes over
Interesting. Make sure that you route all channels properly. Then put the Fruity Filter and automate cut off knob.

Thank you for this tutorial! One question...Do you think that to produce EDM (without recording voices) is necessary a professional soundcard? Does the soundcard affect the track sound quality?
Nope man, it doesn't effect anything on your sound. You only need sound card if you have reference monitors to plug them into.

Do you personally recommend to layer a pure mono lead into a track. Since I find it sometimes causing weird phasing problem with the wide leads.
Try different mono layers. Phasing when adding mono layer is really rare.
Hi, when i try to fatten the leads my leads go above 0db and then i lower the sounds which are going above 0db but then i sounds very low in volume and looses the power.

Check my start to finish series. And try to use balances on your track.
When you have to cut your leads on the high end what is the general range I should be looking for? 10-12K? or is this too low
It's too low. Sometimes no need to cut, sometimes 18k - 19k.
JUST ONE QUESTION YOUR LEAD BUS WAS CLIPPING IS IT OKEY? IF YOUR MIXER TRACK CLIP ? ALSO I SOMEHOW KNOW HOW TO MIX THANKS MATE BUT GAIN STAGING AND MASTERING IS STILL A PROBLEM PLEASE HELP
Individual channel clipping is ok since we use 32 bit wave. It has extra headroom. But yea in the end you should not clip.
hi, awesome video, thanks a lot. But i have a question, how do you go about the processing of your kick when you are pitch shifting it? Because i sometimes have the problem that then some kicks are very lud, and others to quiet? If you need compression, what settings would you recommend?
If you talking about tonal kick bass parts, you can send them separate channels and individual eq and volume balance.

@@TheCarpboss1 Sometimes you can send them same bus and make indivual volume changes. But some cases yea, you need to process them differently to make them glued.

Also can I have tips about using low pass filter in drop.
Because I find that my low pass filtering effect on the leads makes sharp and lazer sound. I tried to change the q and slope setting of it. Unfortunately, it just doesn't solve the problem. It is gona be my life saver if you answer it.

@@OzgunOfficial I mean the low pass fx we usually put onto the lead fills of a drop. Like every 16 bar you put a fill on it, and sometimes you use low pass filter to filter the leads synth. While I was doing this, I found that I often make my leads sounds very harsh.

if you click and drag from corners it automaticly grabs hi or low pass slope.

As I remember one is from Vandalism packs. Not sure which. And other ones are from 789ten SaberZ pack.
