My favourite part of Callifornia section was watching 3 people start strong and thinking, no way can they keep this up. I have watched every episode and you guys are awesome. Not gloating, not boasting, humble, unassuming, appreciative of the beauty and majesty of the trail. Taking it all in your stride and no matter what, putting your shoulder into it and laying down the miles no matter what Mother Nature threw at you. A great Team, a great Husband and Wife. A Team who have surpassed anything I could possibly ever hope to achieve in my lifetime and who still manage a wide grin at the border. That has been the best bit of California for me. Well done and now onwards and upwards, good luck and safe trails!!! ❤❤❤😎 Guthooks Map 2 here we come!!!
Coming up on my old stomping grounds over 50 years ago. Sky Lakes Wilderness. I worked for the USFS building trail in Seven Lakes Basin. Got called off to take care of a rock slide on the PCT near Devil’s Peak. Some well placed dynamite cleared it out nicely. Enjoy the area, the huckleberries are waiting for you and the mosquitos should be clearing out. Great hike, looking forward to you touching the Northern Terminus.
I have so enjoyed following your adventure through all the past weeks. You two are such an amazing, positive couple! Your accomplishments on this adventure have been fantastic. U-turn sets a very fast pace and ALWAYS has that beautiful smile on her face. You both are a wonderful team together. Congratulations on reaching Oregon. Keep up the great effort and be mindful of the fire and blow downs you will have to bypass. There is good info about that in Sisters. Check out the WANDER WOMEN you tube about the trail angels in Sisters that helped them recently. Best to you both!
"California highlights" are oddly similar to the old saw about the most memorable days in the life of any boat owner -- the day they first acquire their new baby, and the day they sell it . . .
See, you were meant to be on the trail. One footstep at a time, one day at a time, one village at a time, one state at a time😃 Your positive attitudes will take you all the way to Canada. Welcome to my Country when you arrive here🥰
I've been living vicariously through you guys. Proud of you for knocking out CA w/ such positive attitudes. I am doing ~100 miles of OR PCT in about a month and looking forward to watching you hit it first as a preview. I've done WA sections J and K and am stoked to see you get to those absolutely beautiful areas of the WA Cascades.
Congrats on making it to Oregon. Now you have crater lake to look forward to. Southern Oregon is pretty dry and lots of volcanic rock to hike on. Then once you get to the lakes you get to enjoy the mosquitos. But the cascade peaks are so beautiful. Snd more berries. My fav part of Oregon is around mt hood near where I grew up. Enjoy your time is Ashland and I look forward to your adventures through Oregon. Be safe. Thanks for your awesome posts.
Mentally on different levels burn outs are depressing. Bright spot the berries, where’s the bears?! Oregon and Washington are beautiful, enjoy. Contact the company to have your tent replaced!
I'm so glad you decided to use some different music!! It sounded so upbeat and positive! The "spa" music got to me .. sorry... 😊 Anyway, you guys are rocking it. Well done!
Again…I thought the desert was going to stop you then the freezing at the start of the sierra’s put a hurt on you, pass after pass you just kept going 3/4 of the people that started ended months ago and mile after mile you guys just kept putting one foot in front of the other I know it’s much much more difficult then you let on it’s brutal yet here you are…congratulations
Lol! Those beers and food was for sure one of the highlights of Northern California! Coolest bartender we’ve met by far! Thanks again my friend. Excited to see your following the videos! Cheers!
Always notice that young fellow that is part of your group but it’s almost that he’s just in the shadows. How about an episode or splicing him in the videos more? Seems like a nice enough guy(?) ….maybe just a long-distance stalker
Lol we are very good friends but he sleeps in and arrives into camp later than us most days. Don’t usually get a lot of footage with him because he doesn’t hike with us during the day very often.
@@walkingwithpurpose4149 thanks for the reply. There is something so “homegrown” about watching you folks punch along and just caught up in the literal ups ands downs of the hike. I think it’s that just beat up tent I watch you unfurl every evening. Just seems to match the vide. Congrats and looking forward to,seeing you move……

good on you for avoiding the pancakes, you have had a little history of in-town, tummy-troubles :)

Woohoo! Welcome to Oregon, the Green Tunnel. Maybe we’ll see you at McKenzie Pass. 🤗
Congratulations on your multiple milestones. I trust the PCT isn’t being affected by the huge Bootleg fire.
I'm so glad you decided to use some different music!! It sounded so upbeat and positive! The "spa" music got to me
.. sorry... 😊
Anyway, you guys are rocking it. Well done!
Congratulations on the huge accomplishment making it to Oregon! Can’t wait to get to hike the PCT someday myself.

"Second coolest part about California is leaving it" HAHAHHAHAHA
Hey California isn't that bad! What about that cool bartender at that restaurant in Redding, Fusion? Remember the ones who bought your beers? ;)
Lol! Those beers and food was for sure one of the highlights of Northern California! Coolest bartender we’ve met by far! Thanks again my friend. Excited to see your following the videos! Cheers!
Yes and thank you again for helping arrange transportation back to the airport for my husband. It left me more time to spend with my hikers (kids) ❤️
Do you filter every drop of water, or just when it looks sketchy? You two are amazing.
You guys rock! Now that you all are so far on the pct do you still see a lot of people doing the PCT or has the crowed faded away?
How do you keep your energy up mile after mile?
Lots of snickers and setting small milestones each day to look forward to.

@@walkingwithpurpose4149 Didn't you comment previously that he's also recording the hike as well, and plans to put something together after the hike?
