The unit heats up fast and is super quiet. It looks fancy ruclips.net/user/postUgkxl8Od2BvnGbn1ffwqsuFXW0QnmcZgMiVY and can be kept in the living room. It gets hot within a split second of turning on the unit. The build quality is exceptionally good and is safe to be around kids and pets. This one is super quiet and can be kept on while in office meetings, my wife loved it. It shows the temperature right on the unit which is very useful and adding a rotating feature helps to heat up the surrounding, so other people will not fight with you for heat. It is right as described in the description..!! Definitely recommend!!
Excellent job you guys. If anyone wants to try this I'd just like to add a piece of advice. Before adding sand to the filter always fill the bottom with water, at least to the top of the laterals (the little legs the vertical pipe in the center is attached to). It prevents the laterals from breaking when pouring in the sand and ensures the sand is distributed evenly across the bottom of the filter. You guys did a great job and you can get away with doing it this way most the time, but its a pain in the ass if something goes wrong. Filling the bottom with water ensures nothing can go wrong.
Lol, using the corrugated plastic was genius. Its like the sheets i used to build my wifes green house. It's got a clear material and I'd say 2-3mm square sections all the way over. Great idea.
This is awesome!! I finished mine about a week ago. Instead of having it so high up and with the pvc pipe so visible, I incorporated it into my deck. You’re neighbor is AWESOME!!!
My son & I just finished installing my new sand pump & replacing with pvc & the waterfall like yours! Love it! I'd love to share a pic, not sure how to do that.
So glad you posted this video just built this whole system for my pool yesterday and added the Hayward in wall skimmer it’s great!!!! Thanks for the video and the idea
We bought a used metal above ground pool that came with a very huge sand filter about three times bigger than that one, and a one horse Hayward pump. With the right chemicals it keeps our pool super clean and clear all through the summer. And the sand filter is easy to maintain I would highly recommend this to anyone with an above ground pool. I would love to have a waterfall like that on ours!
I'm a 3rd generation plumber / construction worker and your nieghbor really good at what he does . I'm gonna add Y's into the fountian as arms to help hold it up .
Why couldn't this guy be my neighbor!? Or friend..I need you! Lol great vid. I have a 24 ft long rectangular pool. Had to buy a a sand pump for it & it makes a huge difference! I love your DIY waterfall. Just need Robs help to make it lol
Been contemplating doing this to my pool for the last 2 yrs but my wife was sort of iffy about the idea. Now I can really sell her in it especially since every pool vac we've tried fails because the lack of pull through those small holes. Note: we bought a Hayward pump after the first yrs water qulaity failure mid summer
I'm going to do something similar to this. Dude was drunk and still knows what he's doing for the most part. Not bashing, I work with a buzz and still get the job done as well with a few hiccups.
They sell Intex adapters that fit directly to female threaded 1.5". I've used these extensively in my PVC system to make coupling it to the Intex equipment much easier. Finally got all the air leaks out of my system! Zero bubbles in the basket!
That is my only worry is modifying the hole. I had a 16x36 that we added a second outlet at the far end so have extra spa tubing. Luckily I have adaptors so can replace all the tubing, mainly because awaiting on my sand filter 2 piece clamp. Was thinking about using that second line to feed the waterfall. Hope I can make it as good as yours.
You need to utilize some flex hose. Because the pool moves when people are splashing around. 100% rigid pvc will cause stress to the sand filter and pump.
@@jbaker4900 I used rubber flex couplers right off all my intakes, just enough flex to allow things to move some. Other than that, I'm entirely hard plumbed with no issues this year!
Thanks for the ideas. We did the water fall this weekend pretty much like you did yours. The only difference with ours is we elected to go with a through wall skimmer instead of using the factory holes. The pump seems to have more pressure with the skimmer and the waterfall is awesome. Thanks so much!
Great video -/ I”ve got the even bigger intex filter system with salt and it ruined the legs all the legs of my InTEXT pool getting a new pool but not using the salt cell this time really stinks because I loved what the salt so did to keep things clean I will try to do that great set up with the waterfall also I also added to Hayward skimmer to mine and it made all the difference in getting the water moving around
The primer creates a better weld on the PVC, but it also creates a weak spot for eventual failure as well, especially for PVC exposed to the sun. Sanding the area you are gluing and the fitting and then wiping the dust off is just as effective as Primer, but you won't have the weak spot later on that primer creates. I paint or insulate to extend the life of my PVC.
The 2” couplers are the ones connected to the jet and pump hose? And the 2.5” t fitting is the one under the shut off valve on the waterfall? I’m a lil confused on that part since everything else says 1.5” before I head to Home Depot and buy everything
Can you tell me how many pieces I need for each piping. It only has the list of things but not how many to get. If I could get the information on that, it would be awesome.
This year I stopped using sand and am using poly balls (think large cotton balls) so far my pump pressure has been steady in the green and the pool is staying crystal clear.
@@CrushedEMTB I hope you know that you can’t backwash that balls like you can backwash the sand. @@chrismartin5866 that’s great if you went to sand. You can also damage your filter with unscrewing the six way valve. These balls are shit, they seem like they filter a water much more better but they don’t because there are gaps between each ball so dirty water finds its way through out to the pool.
The pool should have came with a vinyle/denier patch. If you use it from the inside, it should seal any leak you have. If not, the same patches that fix inflatable boats will work on this pool as well.
Nice!! I live here in Tucson and I just bought this same exact pool and intex sand pump and I want to do this but I really don't want to drain alot of that water in order to cut bigger holes. Any way around that? Lol!
