We've spent 29 nights on VV so far. You do not NEED to dress up or do the theme for various evening activities. You can certainly CHOOSE to, but it isn't required in any way. Lots of people go to the PJ party in their shorts and t-shirt. The only request from the cruise line is that you wear "something red" on Scarlet night; which can be as simple as a red headband or pocket handkerchief or as fancy as a red tuxedo or ball gown. You don't dress for dinner at night unless you want to. I basically switch to long pants or skirt and a more dressy top for dinner. The whole thing on VV is to not stress out--wear what you want and have a good time. Some people do it to the hilt, others stay casual the entire time. After my first VV sailing, I vowed to bring half the stuff the next time.....and I still had more than I needed.
You are absolutely right Kathryn, you do not need to dress up for any of them, and the relax attitude to this is one of the very many things we love about Virgin Voyages. What we have seen over the different cruises we have taken is a tendency for more people to dress up though for the nights, Scarlet in particular. When we first did Scarlet Lady in 2021, it was very much just a splash of red, now people are increasingly red head to foot :) For the PJ Party, again we have seen this change where more and more are getting into the theming more, and going full PJ's, we even saw a few wearing night caps!!! The only only one of the events that was around 30% dress up, 70% normal gear, was Klub Rubiks 80's party. We definitely took more than on our previous cruises with Virgin, but it was a longer one, and we knew we wanted to dress up a bit more, but as you said, you absolutely don't have to. It was all just for the camera Fraser 😂 Seriously though, Linzi makes it a work of art and I stay out fo the way packing cameras and such. I suspect if I did the packing then it would be not quite that good (understatement). Hope you are having an amazing time.
As always I enjoyed watching but then dreamt about packing and discovering that I’d forgotten to sort out my paperwork and had no idea where my passport was!! Thank goodness it was only a dream!! 😂
If Sir Richard Branson looks at the video, I'm sure you will be given a free pass to travel on Virgin. I have not seen anybody have as much fun and dance like nobody's watching as you did. Good on you.

Right. This is great for me, as I wont be attending a PJ party nor the 80s one. I will push the boat out, no pun intended, and wear a red polo shirt on that other night (cant remember the name) On every cruise I have done so far I have been very very drunk by 6pm and been in bed by 8pm, on the first night. I dont intend to ruin my reputation by not doing that on virgin. And being a child of th 70s, and British, I was into Punk music, and always loathed most of the 80s. And what I did like wasnt mainstream. Nobody ever does a punk night. Its great that you dont need to dress up for dinner, because, well, i wont be. It might be a clean polo shirt and different pair of jeans, but thats yer lot. I have standards dress wise, and they are exceedingly low. It seems a waste of valuable drinking time too, to get dressed twice in one night. Great video though. Love your stuff. its awesome.
🤣🤣🤣 We've never considered the lost valuable drinking time changing twice in one night. A punk night on Virgin would be great, and they do have some links to the genre on Virgin, and we've always had a Sex Pistols album in our cabin by default when staying in rockstar suites.

I am trying very hard to convince my wife to do the Salty Dog cruise in early 2025. Which is a live music cruise stared by Flogging Molly, and attended by many pink legends.
Looking at the refreshing dip in the pool, you've come a long way from high tea on Cunard. Will the real Mark and Linzi please stand up or pass out. I believe Linzi partook of some giggle juice earlier in the evening 🎉.

Ha ha ha Steve. Both lots of Linzi and Mark are stood up. There's not really the chance to cut loose on Cunard like Virgin.
