Well, technically the Azalea City theme and the Violet City theme weren't used in RSE, but one could also say that it's the Sevii Islands themes because there they were actually used. So I guess the soundtracks were planned and then used for FRLG instead. And the Gen1 wild battle theme is also used in FRLG. The only unused ones are (correct me if I'm wrong) the Legendary Beast theme and the two route themes. And the Pokemon Center one.
Fun fact: 7:45 this track is actually used in the game when you travel to Navel rock in the game. Though it's nearly impossible to travel to this location without cheats or glitches, because these were special events you could only get to by obtaining the E-Reader tickets, it is still possible to buy a faked E-reader card to get there and by what I've seen, it actually works.
Why couldn’t the Route 38 music have been used for some of the Sevii Island routes, and especially why couldn’t the legendary beast battle music have been used when you encounter them in Kanto?
@@jamiethedinosaur869Every aspect of returning content for FRLG was rushed and thrown together to "bridge" the gap between Gen 1/2 and 3. It was half-assed because it wasn't going to be a major selling point of the games.
Some of those are leftovers from FireRed/LeafGreen (Azalea Town, Violet City, Route 42, the first gen 1 legendary music), half of those are used in-game on Navel Rock. The last piece is the Mew battle music made specifically for Emerald. The Saffron City, Route 38, Communication Centre and Legendary Beast music are all leftovers from Ruby/Sapphire, most likely made to test out the new soundfont.
considering the gen1 remakes would only come out two years later, it is more likely that these music tests were used for the sevii islands as either throwbacks or due to a lack of time to compose new music.
These were probably left in because they probably already started work on FR & LG after R&S… most were just put into FR & LG so they might have been tests for the sound tbh. The mew encounter music actually was for all legendary Pokémon in FR & LG & the navel rock music was kept the same for FR & LG im assuming because it was easy to make the music the same for both games… almost all the event Pokémon kept the same music & yes the areas were slightly different style wise but for the most part they were almost the same. I wonder if they considered trying to do what gold & silver did & after you beat the elite for you could go to gen 2 but they ended up doing the island things because gen 3 had the same thing… idk makes me think they had plans for gen 2, there was no way to bring back past Pokemon from gen 1&2 & them doing a gen 1 remake was smart but idk it was odd how they brought a lot of the gen 2 pokemon back but like I felt a lot were almost impossible to get unless you had like Pokemon XD & any of the game cube games… Gen 3 to me was the hardest to get any gen 2 Pokemon tbh
Could have been here because maybe they planned to add Johto to FRLG before the Sevii Islands tho that would have meant a lot of work to make Johto look 3 years younger

EMULATION EXISTS
@@HistoryandReviews Even so, you need cheats to get there ESPECIALLY on emulation.
It’s also on every single route on Five Island, Six Island and Seven Island
I hope someone remix them so i can save in a playlist with a name of a game that doesn't exist.

The Azalea Town and Violet City remixes arent quite the same as they are in FRLG. Is this just a super high quality rip?
