  • Can't help but love a black truck, even better is one with front and rear lockers.. but an $80k Luxury 4x4 is just nerve-racking to drive off-road. Today I put the 2022 GMC Sierra AT4X to the test and see just how capable it is.

    • @tomheringer2047
      @tomheringer2047 2 года назад +5

I agree, however, there is an advantage of using nitrogen in tires. The atmosphere is 78% nitrogen, 21% oxygen and 1% other gases. An oxygen molecule actually has a smaller kinetic diameter than a nitrogen molecule. Therefore, it is easier for the oxygen molecules to pass between the polymer chains of the rubber compound that was used to make the tire. A tire filled with nitrogen only will hold its target pressure longer than a tire filled with compressed air.

So regarding Nitrogen. As far as I understand the point of using pure nitrogen in racing tyres is that the tire pressure changes that occur as the tire heats up are more predictable than when using random air to fill the tires., meaning you can fill the tires cold knowing exactly what the race pressure will be. What is the benefit in this application?

In theory the molecule size of nitrogen is bigger and doesn't pass through the tire as easily as non- nitrogen. Standard air in tires losses about 1 psi per month. Problem is you have to be fully committed. As soon as you put standard air in any benefit is gone.

I absolutely love the style, features and the luxuries of GMC Sierra’s. My 2014 Z71 off-road LTZ Silverado was 44k brand new and it pretty much has the same qualities, a 2.5” lift wasn’t expensive too. Although I’ve been staying up to date with the Sierra’s and the price keeps rising and rising. I have 280k; (least to say, nothing wrong with what I have,) it has served me well and I don’t intend on selling it, but I dearly desire 3500 HD GMC with 6.6L diesel. So far the best rear view.

Lack of towing capability and tiny bed are reasons I went with a super duty tremor instead of an at4. Great looking truck just too expensive for a half-ton.

Another great review, Sarah. GMC trucks always seem to be a notch above Chevy trucks. And this one doesn't disappoint. I think you might just have one of the best off-road courses of any car reviewer on You Tube. I also appreciate your comment about the GMC Canyon. I happen to own the Denali version of that truck and love it. I really enjoy an off-road review with a picture of the vehicle with a wheel completely in the air. Keep up the great work.

Geez, so that's how much a neighbor paid for his truck. With the shipping to Hawaii, I bet the price was even higher.
No wonder I always see it in the driveway.

Nice driving Sarah, but I still don't understand why big trucks like this in the USA still use gas guzzling big V8's.
It's no wonder Biden had to go kiss ass in Saudi recently.
Why can't they use big diesels, better torque's, better economy, and arguably longer lasting.
In this day and age monster petrol V8's in monster trucks makes no sense.
Love the channel by the way, when it comes to all kinds of work on cars, your a true inspiration.

I don't get the nitrogen filled tires, seeing as how regular air is 78% nitrogen already. Do they charge extra for that?
Also, would love to know what the payload capacity is on this truck and all your truck reviews. A lot of trucks have pretty low payload ratings which really limit their usefulness in towing and hauling.
Keep your reviews coming, we all love 'em!

Spot on review. Too expensive and not offroady enough for an off road vehicle. Looks great though. I work with chevys and the zr2 disappointed me a bit. I expected it to compete with the raptor and trx but it falls way too short of that mark.

Alot of those contractors write off the cost of these monster trucks as a business expense, if they're smart. They're almost as subsidized as EVs, in a roundabout, old school, way. They cost 80k for some of the same reasons college is ridic expensive.

This would be better compared to another more luxury specific truck like the Ford F150 Platinum Limited 4x4. One equipped close to the ATX is just over $84K.

Cannot believe the price of trucks and vans now it's unreal the increase last few years! (And cars tbh!) But utilitarian type vehicles aren't supposed to be unaffordable! Lol
Nice truck but too expensive for most people to consider who would most likely want one...
    Great video as always! 👍😎🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿
