I respect your opinion on David. He does have a little bit of an ego. But I met him in 2024 he was genuinely a nice guy. We had a very genuine conversation about life and music. It was at a festival afterparty and he got some food delivered as the bar didn’t have food. He thanked the person who delivered the food and he also took the time to thank each bar person individually. He also was the first to call out Escape the Fate’s members for trying to grope the female bar staff as well From what I’ve seen and heard he does plenty on and off stage
I also dislike Ozzy but not because of the music (though I don't really like that much songs from his "solo" career neither) but for all the context behind his success. Dude gets all the credit (and money) yet he depends on all the other musicians and bussiness men around him. We metalheads mock artists like Bieber for not being "true artists" but one of our biggest icons it's exactly like that too, or worse, considering how the Osbournes stole credits from Jake E Lee
I follow you on pretty much any of the bands/artists you mentioned, but come on, Dimmu Borgir, the one-two punch of "Spiritual Black Dimensions" & "Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia" remains more than memorable in terms of (not just black) metal epicness!
BFMV, Falling in Reverse, Fall out Boy, Escape the Fate, All American Rejects, AJR, ivan from 5FDP, King Diamond, kanye west, Bad Wolves, A Day To Remember, Sleep Token, taylor swift, katy perry and Bad Bunny
@ It’s not the instrumentals, they have really good musicianship in ADTR, it’s how the guy pronounces words like “nd HAÆ DARLENE. I HRRRD UVE BEEN GOOD TOOONOIIIOIGHT. YEAAA I DONT WŌNT ÆTT NŌŌ OYE DONT NEED ÆTT.” And when that girl stared to sing in that song, I honestly thought she was saying “HEEEEYYY SWEET ABE” instead of “HEYYY SWEETIE.” He (and a good portion of the bands on my list) is just ripping off that fake British blink-182/Green Day accent, yet they’re from Florida. That singing style is just forced “please feel sorry for me” emotions rather than something raw, true and genuine.
I like Stp and Bfmv (a little). But I can see your perspective and agree with most of these otherwise. Good video, some decently thought out criticism at times.
I am totally on board regarding your thoughts on David Drayman. I'm a bit on off about Ozzy too some of his stuff that I like I absolutely love but other stuff just either bores me or goes right through me. Bullet for my valentine, I bought a ticket for their show last year but only because Jinjer were the support act. I left after Jinjer. I've never checked out Asking Alexandria simply because their band name sucks ass. The only thing that sounds worse than Bob Dylan's voice on his songs is the screechy harmonica.
I approve everything on your list except for STP. I've always been a huge fan of them and Scott was a great frontman IMHO. I truly wish he could've gotten the right help and stayed clean.
Probably not your style, I imagine, but German band RPWL gave Bob Dylan's 1963 song 'Masters of War' an impressive 'Prog Rock' makeover. Also, that bloke with the long braided beard would probably look cool in. a loincloth 😏😈
Another great vid mate. No arguments from me with any of your picks. I used to listen to Dimmu a lot back in the day. The stuff with ICS Vortex is pretty great! But to be honest I haven’t gone back years. And everything without Vortex I just found a be a bit MEH! A great symphonic metal group to check out is Septicflesh. Bloody face melting mate 👍🏻
I don't agree with some of your thoughts but that's okay. I like hearing your opinions. You seem like a decent fellow. Different strokes for different folks. I will check out some of your videos. Thank you for your video.
Based on what you hate - I think we have the same exact tastes in music. I also suspect we’re about the same age and probably grew up about 60 miles apart
I quite like Disturbed, they are pretty basic music wise but I still find some enjoyment out of it, they were also a band that got me into rock music when I was a kid
Five good songs off the first album like the two singles "Stupify", Down With The Sickness", "Numb" and "Violence Fetish", and the cover song "Shout 2001". With the first album, they were trying to be a clone of Korn and that was good but then they decided to be original in the next albums but it didn't work because they simply suck.
Another great vid!... I think the first 2 Five Finger Death Punch albums are fantastic, but everything after that + the endless drama coming from Ivan Moody made me DESPISE this band. (Maybe a bands you used to love but now can't stand video? lol). Have enough drama in my life, don't need it coming from the bands whose music I use to get away from it...
I respect Disturbed for always having a part about mental health and suicide prevention during their gigs. It hits very close to home. Even if it's for the show - fuck it. They're doing good work there. STP were good. Really, really good. And Robert DeLeo is an incredible, criminally underrated bassist - and he wrote most of their material! But Maroon 5... yeah, fuck'em. Fuck'em right in the ear. What a load of utter shite. And Dimmu Burger (cause that's what they should be called) are a joke. A sad one, to be precise.
I respect the mental health stuff (I can assure you I have been through my share of shite in that regard) but it just comes across as false to me. Like you say though, if it helps people then it is all worth it
On the subject of Ghost,to use a different band as an example.Within Temptation They have keyboards, two guitar players but those guitars are barely heard/too quiet in the mix whereas the keyboards swamp what SHOULD be heavy guitars,i feel the same about Ghost. It`s very LITE/TAME/not heavy enough..
It sounds like it’s not the music but the behavior of the lead singer more than anything. I like their music but I agree with what he said in the video too.
Read the lyrics off the songs from the down with the sickness album. They’re so cringe. It’s basically a 12 year old boy who just discovered what sex is for the first time and decided to write an album about it. MEGA CRINGE
Manowar is much like Kiss in that they are a New York band with a lager than life image, lots of bravado, and endless self-promotion. If you can get past that you will find some awesome, epic, metal tunes with great musicianship and a killer live show. In fact, I'd say their first six albums are quite mandatory if you like traditional heavy metal. I'll admit I haven't kept up with them in more recent years though.
If you haven't checked out Frank Marino's version of All along the watch tower you should check it out (guitarist from my area) and you might know him from Mahogany Rush (amazing Guitarst/Singer and a really great guy)

Fantastic video!! The over playing of “The Sound of Silence” ruined Disturbed for me. Beautifully said about them. 5FDP’s first album was fantastic, after they found success they just kept producing garbage.

@@Frankieskorns So you are saying you like Limp Biskit, Kid Rock, Godsmack, Disturbed and Korn? That late 90s early 2000s garbage put a nail in the coffin of rock music and destroyed the resurgence of great bands we saw early to mid 90s. Thank God for Tool
Me sitting there, nodding along, thinking "that's fair" Then you said Dimmu Borgir and I shouted "AW COME ON" out loud 😂 If the theatrics put you off, give their first five albums a try, much less theatrical. Well, another one of my faves, Asking Alexandria, made the list. They're my all-time favourite band, but they have always kind of had an immaturity streak. Yes, it has become more muted as they have switched from electronic metalcore to radio hard rock over the years, but they've had at least one song on their last three albums that has at least one immature lyric in there.
@@ThatMetalBlokei like Asking Alexandria but only their first four albums. Maybe Devil Wears Prada and Of Mice And Men are better but AA has some very good songs.
While i respect your pick of Five Finger Death Punch, i must also add how great the lead singer is. Ivan has been a key figure getting veterans the recognition they deserve. Every show, they bring veterans on stage and bring attention to them struggling to make ends meet once they are out of service. No pandering, no virtue signaling, just a straight up great dude.
Ray Gillen blew away the demo version of The Eternal Idol. That's the only version I can listen too. I prefered Dio in Sabbath, myself, rather than Ozzy.
Fair assessment on BFMV. They're one of my all-time favourite bands, but I think the underwritten lyrics and Matt's nasal delivery can be a turnoff for quite a lot of people.

He thanked the person who delivered the food and he also took the time to thank each bar person individually. He also was the first to call out Escape the Fate’s members for trying to grope the female bar staff as well
From what I’ve seen and heard he does plenty on and off stage
I also dislike Ozzy but not because of the music (though I don't really like that much songs from his "solo" career neither) but for all the context behind his success. Dude gets all the credit (and money) yet he depends on all the other musicians and bussiness men around him. We metalheads mock artists like Bieber for not being "true artists" but one of our biggest icons it's exactly like that too, or worse, considering how the Osbournes stole credits from Jake E Lee
Or the egg-cident with Iron Maiden, initiated by Sharon.
That is a very valid point that you make. I wish I would have thought of that before doing the video
@ThatMetalBloke I would love to see a video like this but with personalities you don't like even though you like their music (optional haha)
I follow you on pretty much any of the bands/artists you mentioned, but come on, Dimmu Borgir, the one-two punch of "Spiritual Black Dimensions" & "Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia" remains more than memorable in terms of (not just black) metal epicness!
omg is the car door ok
🤣
I’m 1 min in and already subbed because you’re a lovely person.
Disturbed guy..i totally get it.good deeds are for publicity..he wants to be Bono
I would be upset if someone forced me to go to a Disturbed show too.
I like how you didn’t capitalize their names 😂
EHHHH WRONGGGGG, Fall out boy is the only right answer
What's wrong with A Day To Remember?
@ It’s not the instrumentals, they have really good musicianship in ADTR, it’s how the guy pronounces words like “nd HAÆ DARLENE. I HRRRD UVE BEEN GOOD TOOONOIIIOIGHT. YEAAA I DONT WŌNT ÆTT NŌŌ OYE DONT NEED ÆTT.”
And when that girl stared to sing in that song, I honestly thought she was saying “HEEEEYYY SWEET ABE” instead of “HEYYY SWEETIE.”
He (and a good portion of the bands on my list) is just ripping off that fake British blink-182/Green Day accent, yet they’re from Florida. That singing style is just forced “please feel sorry for me” emotions rather than something raw, true and genuine.
Katy Perry isn’t that terrible. She has some good songs. I’d put there Ariana Grande, Selena Gomez and Miley Cyrus
I like Stp and Bfmv (a little). But I can see your perspective and agree with most of these otherwise. Good video, some decently thought out criticism at times.
😂😂 thats because you have a slit between your fucking legs
I am totally on board regarding your thoughts on David Drayman.
I'm a bit on off about Ozzy too some of his stuff that I like I absolutely love but other stuff just either bores me or goes right through me.
Bullet for my valentine, I bought a ticket for their show last year but only because Jinjer were the support act. I left after Jinjer.
I've never checked out Asking Alexandria simply because their band name sucks ass.
The only thing that sounds worse than Bob Dylan's voice on his songs is the screechy harmonica.
I don't know what it is about Draiman but I just get a real narcissistic vibe from him. I could well be wrong but that is just the feel I get from him
I approve everything on your list except for STP. I've always been a huge fan of them and Scott was a great frontman IMHO. I truly wish he could've gotten the right help and stayed clean.
Don’t forget Springsteen and Ghost.
Rob Dukes has just rejoined Exodus today!
Stone Temple Pilots is my favorite band of all time😭
what you think of The Bled?
My favorite bands
1. System of a Down
2. 5FDP
3. Slipknot
4. Rammstein
5. Mushroomhead
5fdp and mushroom 😅 fk
MRH My Favorite Band
Its nice to hear someone just hate on stuff and not feel the need to justify it, pretty good list too agree with about 80% of it
Your hate for black eyed peas.....is so relatable. It's like you're me and I'm you.😂
Same
I don't agree with some of your thoughts but that's okay. I like hearing your opinions. You seem like a decent fellow. Different strokes for different folks. I will check out some of your videos. Thank you for your video.
Nah Black Sabbath Ozzy is iconic. HEAVY DISAGREE on Ozzy on this list, solo or otherwise
Same, I'm shocked.
Based on what you hate - I think we have the same exact tastes in music. I also suspect we’re about the same age and probably grew up about 60 miles apart
My favorites
.1.Maiden
2.AC/DC
3.Ozzy Era Sabbath
4.Danzig 1-4 Samhain,Misfits.
5.Doors and Nirvana tie
I felt the same for the longest time about Manowar.. but yea. They're actually pretty damn good!
I quite like Disturbed, they are pretty basic music wise but I still find some enjoyment out of it, they were also a band that got me into rock music when I was a kid
Fair enough. It is more Draiman that puts me off. The music I find ok but nothing special. Plenty of music for both of us to enjoy 🤘
@ absolutely, one of my favorite things about music is how subjective it is, I’ve never had a problem with David but I see where you’re coming from
Reveille profile pic! Nice 👌
@@laurisaarinen1126 thanks😁
I for one would love to see the Black Sabbath album ranking 🤘
Listen to STP's self-titled 2010 album. I love it. It's a real rock n roll album but not metal.
It doesn't need to be metal for me to like it but I have always struggled with this band for some reason
That is a good idea for a video. I will have a look into doing something like that soon
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Five finger discount 😂
You are right about Disturbed. I sense the same thing and you're not out of line.
I look forward to STP popping up on ' Bands I've reconsidered' Go listen to Tiny Music and Purple immediately. If this doesn't work, seek help. 😉
Could not agree more
Tried them many times and it just doesn't work for me I'm afraid
I felt the same way about exodus until I saw them live a year ago. They were pretty good live considering all this time.
What are your best songs to workout to?
@w-james9277 right now for me it's Gutricyde if you like crunchy death metal in the vein of mortician
That could make a very interesting video. Keep an eye out as I will do one for that subject soon 🤘
@@ThatMetalBloke Cheers. My workout playlist is getting a bit stale and I need some new suggestions.
I would recommend Rammstein.
@@zwingsworkshop300 I don’t like Rammstein
Your stuff on Ozzy/Sabbath was spot on
Foo fighters is a band I really can't get into at all.
Can’t stand them.
@@blitzenwisnia1938 And especially Dave Grohl.
I saw Five Finger Death Punch with metallica, and I wanted to take a nap mid set 🤦♂️
1:36 hating disturbed is crazy 💀💀
It sounds like it’s not the music but the behavior of the lead singer more than anything. I like their music but I agree with what he said in the video too.
They haven't had a decent album since 2008. It isn't all that difficult to hate them 😂
Read the lyrics off the songs from the down with the sickness album.
I'll admit I haven't kept up with them in more recent years though.
my mum hates disturbed, she says that their modern stuff is “techno bullshit” and I couldn’t agree more lol
@@brucedickinsonbutnot "techno", haha.
If you haven't checked out Frank Marino's version of All along the watch tower you should check it out (guitarist from my area) and you might know him from Mahogany Rush (amazing Guitarst/Singer and a really great guy)
1.Tool
2.ghost
3.mercyful fate
4.Pearl Jam
5. Cold play
6.Iron Maiden (Dickinson era )
7.limp bizkit
8.Dave Matthews band
9.overkill (hate the vocals)
10. R.E.M
Legit list
@@DaBlckParade_Official nah Ghost actually suck dude.
@@DaBlckParade_Official maybe the comment section isn't for you if you can't handle a bit of banter. Though it was the response I expected from a Ghost fan.
@@chrischadwick5298 "i think ghost is bad so it must be true" - Retard
If you are that fragile and the slightest comment sets you into despair you probably shouldn’t be on here. Enjoy your day and not live in a world where everybody has to agree on everything.
Fantastic video!! The over playing of “The Sound of Silence” ruined Disturbed for me. Beautifully said about them. 5FDP’s first album was fantastic, after they found success they just kept producing garbage.
Def Lepperd, Motley Crue, Queen, Disturbed, Limp Bizkit, Godsmack, Sevendust, Kid Rock, Bon Jovi & Korn. I think hating Maroon 5 and Black Eyed Peas goes without saying Bloke. 🤣
Sevendust🙉🙉🙉
Wrongggggg
@@Frankieskorns how so
@@sima2164 cuz you have no taste the only ones who are good is queen, Bon Jovi, def, seven dust.
That thing about manowar 😂😂😂 its kicking ass music. Its dopping.
totally agreed with the disturbed messiah complex.
Yeah man. That is how it seems to me
Me sitting there, nodding along, thinking "that's fair"
Then you said Dimmu Borgir and I shouted "AW COME ON" out loud 😂
If the theatrics put you off, give their first five albums a try, much less theatrical. It was Death Cult Armageddon that they started getting more into black metal Nightwish territory. I love all their stuff, but I can also understand why their later offerings wouldn't appeal to everyone.
My list would look something like:
1. Crazy Town
2. Theory of a Deadman
3. Emmure
4. Falling In Reverse
5. Hollywood Undead
6. Kid Rock
7. Machine Gun Kelly
8. Thirty Seconds To Mars
9. Panic! At The Disco
10. Methods of Mayhem
(Extra 10)
11. 4Lyn
12. Hinder
13. Saving Abel
14. New Years Day
15. Saliva
16. Five Finger Death Punch
17. My Darkest Days
18. Vanilla Ice
19. Ted Nugent
20. Bad Wolves
I agree with all but Vanilla Ice
I can understand all of these except Saliva. Those guys are damn good 😂
Agree with FFDP, never got into their music, avoid it as much as possible. However, came close to seeing them on tour recently because Slaughter to Prevail was opening for them and I love them! Decided not to in the end. Disagree with Ozzy, but I can see why his voice rubs people the wrong way. The music is killer though.
Imagine Dragons and Volbeat are two contenders as well. Can't stand their music...
There are 2 Volbeat songs I really like, but everything else I've heard is straight garbage to me. Doc Holliday and Room 24 are songs I really dig from them.
@@Concatenate Room 24 is almost more of a King Diamond song.
I would agree with most of your picks except Ozzy & Stone Temple Pilots (great band when Scott Weiland was fronting them). Bob Dylan I can understand not liking his singing but I'm still a fan
Like I said in the video. I could well be wrong about them but I have just never found much of their stuff that attention grabbing for me persoanlly
If Dimmu Borgir were instrumental, they’d be amazing. Their singer sounds like a 14 year old discovering Slipknot for the first time
kk
Wtf.... did you just say shagrath who predates slipknot and is in the extreme metal genre .. more specifically bm are envious of slipknot 😅 ...
How dare you slate maroon 5!! Haha great video.. I prefer Dio's Sabbath and Ozzys solo stuff..! 🤘🏻😎
I actually like their clean vocals, as opposed to most metalcore cleans. I just can't get with their riffs. They're somehow lacking.
I want to like them but just can't get into them unfortunately
There's a some on your list I totally disagree with, BFMV, Ozzy, and Disturbed. Rest is spot on. You need to add Falling in Reverse and Bad Omens to your list.
