Every time there where news about Mirror's Edge when Catalyst was in development I always checked your channel, it was such a good and fun time hearing you theorize how the gameplay or history would be like and I have to thank you for that Cameron. Since the launch of catalyst I haven't found that joy in any other game announcement (I get hyped for other games obviously but it's not the same, I don't know how to explain it). Then Catalyst launched and it was a bit of a let down for me, but it is what it is I'm grateful that it launched even though I didn't like it as much as the first one. I will be here if we get an announcement in the future. That is, if I'm still alive (no pun intended).
Thanks Alejandro, that honestly means so much to me and happy you are still here! I can definitely see keeping that same energy with coverage if/when there is a new game, although I've matured away from the energetic college-kid that I was once all those years ago haha! Thanks for your support!
I would like a Mirror’s Edge 2 for the 2008 game, with a similar story involving Drake as Faiths new tracker, protecting Kate from the Conglomorate and taking down Callaghan for her actions with a revolution. I actually made a rough story concept on that together with multiplayer world and features.
I actually loved Catalyst. It was more open world and less linear than the first one and the gameplay was excellent. The first one had a better story but involved combat with guns which I found a bit strange. The second one was purely evade or disarm the enemy which suited her character better in my opinion.
Mirror’s Edge: City of Glass, a truly free and vast open world multiplayer parkour game with the option of 3rd or first person perspective gameplay. A game with a huge variety of parkour mechanics smooth animations and customization like crazy, from the look of the character to the clothing. From the weaponry to the attachments, have up to 6 online friends and either screw around, play through the campaign together or complete free running challenges. From snow to sunshine the option of a seasonal weather system setting awaits the slip on the concrete or the sweat of your brow. LIKE WHY HAS NOBODY THOUGHT OF THIS YET!!!!!!!!!!!! Like the best mix of gta, mirrors edge, watchdogs, and dying light ever!!!
Multiplayer in Mirrors Edge is what I'm hoping for as that would be amazing but as for weaponry I mean idk as Mirrors Edge has been quite unique for allowing us to play without the use of guns but I think some epic hand to hand combat would be amazing. Third person would be questionable aswell as there are mods for Dl1, Dl2 and Mirrors Edge for 3rd person but it doesn't look great because the developers tend to pay more attention to the first person animations etc. But I'd love the next one if there is ever a next one to have more freedom, more exploration and more ways to traverse. One thing would be a bit more colour idk but everything just seems bland mainly in the 1st game I mean I get that's the look they were going for but just imagine having more colour so it's more rewarding to enjoy the view when you've just scaled a huge building other than that I love Catalyst.
Mirror's Edge is DICE's love. They were so passionate about the original game if you go into it's archives which EA has an original website for it You can find an interview where you can see their production struggles and how studio believing the project and that's why the character's name was FAITH. You can see how they loved this game. I feel sad when they forced to make Battlefield games only. By the way they are from Sweden so Mirror's Edge was some kind of a mirror to their unique cultural background and design tastes. That's why the game was so great looking with that atmosphere and minimalism. They will eventually return to it and when they do I want a Mirror's Edge 2 and not just a sequel to Catalyst which was actually what happened with Devil May Cry 4 and series had a reboot with the game DmC and it ruined everything shocked everyone and then they have returned with Devil May Cry 5 and made it fan service and got all the points back. I hope Mirror's Edge one day Art Directed by Johannes Soderqvist again hopefully will emerge and save us from the boredom of this world once again.
We all wanted an expansion of the first game, but instead they completely abandoned the foundation they built and that everybody loved. Catalyst isn't a bad game but it's just not what the fanbase originally wanted. Hopefully Dice makes ME3 a good mix of the first two games.
I completely agree, didn't really care much for Catalyst but the original was a goddamn masterpiece. When the reboot announced I was kinda disappointed because I really wanted them to expand the original but I was just happy to hear it was returning in general.
Mirrors Edge Catalyst is my favorite game of all time; I can spend hours just running around the overworld beating up K-Sec. Best feeling combat I’ve ever had in a game.
This gave a weird since if nostalgia. I remember the video of you talking about, what we thought would be called mirrors edge 2, and you were talking about a grappling hook. Then they put it in catalyst!! Love your channel! I miss the gamestop trips! Lol
Yes! Fun times just speculating and being excited about all those announcements. Hopefully my ideas for Mirror's Edge 3 will also make it into the game. I plan to do more Gamestop Trip unboxings, but game releases are pretty nonexistent right now, so hopefully it picks up later in the year!
Mirror's Edge Catalyst has aged well for me. It's strongest points are its movement and graphics. The movement was improved and the graphics are still on par to recent games to this day. It NEEDS more attention.
People tend to say Mirror's Edge 1 was better than Catalyst, but after Catalyst, try to get into ME1, it doesn't even feel half as great as Catalyst tbh, the movement got really improved in the sequel, it made everything more fun, and sure, the open world thing wasn't that big of a deal, so if you aren't interested in it, you can just go and play the main missions from one to another, and they sometimes are as good or even better than the levels of ME1... Such an underrated game to me. Hope one day we get Mirror's Edge 3, but doesn't matter, I'm making a proper open world parkour game with multiplayer included (that means you'll see other players running around too, no pvp or coop (for now), you'll just see them, like if you were in a real city filled with runners). Mark my words, I'm making the next parkour game.
I go back to Mirror's Edge 1 easily. The only improvements in 2 are the movement system and the combat and the story/cutscenes. And tye cuteness of Plastic. Everything else felt bad. The graphics, the soundtrack, the vistas, the open-world, the fact that the world feels empty, especially after you lose your team (mainly Merc)...
Work on the fighting add dead island analog fighting controls but make it like fight night champion where u just flick the stick add guns back in allow enemies to grab and toss us like the big guy from me1 allow us to travel the streets not just rooftops a real open world allow us to make our own runner and get missions from faith and others
Im currently playing mirrors edge catalyst so good. I can imagine a mirrors edge 3 would be super cool especially seeing Glass with modern day graphics. I can imagine itd just look so gorgeous
What they need is a remake of the first game keeping all of the good things and only fixing the problems. Have Catalyst's controls but keep the look, feel and aesthetic of the original. Of course reinstate the planned helicopter chase climax that didn't make it into the finished game. Expand original Faith's character and relationships with Celeste, her sister etc. The problem with Catalyst is they tried to do too much and missed the simplicity that made the original so great.
the original game was a side / passion project afaik and the people who made it allegedly didn't like the way EA operated and moved on to other projects or studios before the sequel (or "reboot" as it was sometimes referred to at the time) was even in production. not sure when or how this happened exactly but it would explain why the second game was so different and possibly why DICE hasn't had any plans for a third instalment since, or maybe ever. again, just what i heard so don't quote me on it
Im hoping for mirrors edge 3 every day. ME is such an iconic character and universe as a whole. And as a person who thoroughly enjoyed collecting every document and recording in glass to read the lore i really love to see it develop. I only wished noah was still alive. To be able to run as Noah, Birdman and Icarus would be awesome. Also noah chose the high caste area to make runs which is the most beautiful/chill area to hangout. Im happy when mirrors edge skips this indeed long dragging generation. I guess the gaming companies are trying to see how AI and universal centralization could cut development costs in shaping tomorrow. When they got that down the next generation im sure mirrors edge would presents itself around the corner. Its too hot property to let go.
They could literally make the very first first person combat game literally hard core fighting whilst in first person with counters throws blocks and some bad ass fight mechanics make it feel smooth let it have parkour and some guns to have a multiple playstyle and call it mirrors edge 3. Also would need to have slow motion as often as max Payne games and strangle hold but the whole game will be first person view
Mirror's Edge is the Blade Runner of the video game world. Very much a cult classic with a super dedicated, small following. The original released without much fanfare or profit, it was more of a labour of love side project for DICE, and the same can be said for Catalyst. Blade Runner got its excruciatingly long-awaited sequel, 2049, and similar to the original, it wowed its dedicated fans but didn't break any box office records. Sound familiar? Like you said, I feel one day we'll see a sequel, but it won't be for a long time. I think I'm okay with that. If Mirror's Edge was a podium franchise for DICE like Battlefield was, it would get milked to death. I'm happy for it to come out as a labour of love project instead. Is that me on copium? Maybe. But if it means we get a quality game over a rushed and crunched one then I feel it's worth it. It's just a shame that more people don't see the franchise's worth.
Why Mirror's Edge is not loved by the mainstream I don't understand. It truly shows how most people has no sense of art and atmosphere at all. If everybody loved what this game offers our society as planet would skyrocket instead of playing 90000 hours of Valorant. By the way Catalyst was a bad one. Johannes Söderqvist is the best Art Director to make it right other guy just ruined it they made once a minimalist and otherworldly immersive world a confused cyberpunk knock-off. But Mirror's Edge idea was so powerful that even the ruined Catalyst still looks way better than most of the AAA games. I hope for the next game Johannes art direct the game again.
valorant isnt even a game ,its an unfun competitive, repetitive shithole with the same formula, but it keeps the mainstream audience entertained somehow for people who enjoy real games we still have amazing indie developers and game companies who care for great games. I've played league of legends for so long, only after i stop playing it i can appreciate real games that have work put in them
I like to search for every news about sequal of Mirror's Edge, I played Mirror's Edge when I was in primary school and Catalyst in junior high school, and now I'm in the university. It's hard to be a fan of Mirror's Edge in China because few people love this game, people just heard this name before, you can hardy see any latest news about it in all kinds of apps about games, which often make me very sad,but I so glad to see player like you still insist report things about Mirror's Edge.I always believe story of Faith would continue and I always love the City of Glass.
Thanks very much! It's great to see so many people from around the world come together and celebrate this game! Thank you for watching and commenting 😊
I loved both games, and earned the platinum achievement for both, I mastered the game inside and out and will always have a burning passion for mirrors edge. Sad to hear there wont be a 3rd mirrors edge.
If there were to be a new Mirror’s Edge I think Respawn should do it. First because DICE clearly has other plans with BF being their main focus and also because Respawn is more capable of doing singleplayer games, specially after their experience with Jedi Fallen Order and Titanfall’s 2 amazing campaign.
I agree as well! Didn't Vince Zampella take over Dice LA too? I wouldn't mind having him being the director on the series. With how awesome the Titanfall 2 campaign was, I think he'd be a great fit for the franchise!
i would really love a ME3 with the classic mechanics of the original. MEC just didn't feel nearly as fun to play. but still enjoyed it for what it was.
Very helpful and informative video my guy! Completely agree with everything you said! Fingers crossed for a complete Mirrors Edge trilogy! Appreciate it!
Honestly when the first mirrors edge came out I was 9, I got it on my Xbox 360 because I thought faith looked cool on the front, and since I’ve been obsessed, I played catalyst on release and now I’m 20, if I end up having to be 30 before we see faiths future, although I’ll be upset, I’ll be happy to at least someday see that faith is ok, she’s a character that will always have an impact for me, her bravery is a massive part of her
@@IndustrialGamer Absolutely. Nothing is more gratifying than learning on your own to smoothly traverse areas you before though you understood perfectly
Yeah I agree with most of what you said, BUT all passion that was behind Mirror's Edge has long left Dice. I wouldn't want them touching it now, since nu-Dice are so soulless
Mirror’s Edge videos are always my favorite of yours! I don’t suspect to see a Mirror’s Edge game for a long time either, though I think a collection or simple port over to the new hardware could be an easy way to get new fans, and to keep existing fans of the series happy.
Happy to hear that Will! I recognize a lot of screennames including yours from years back. Very humbled to see you've stuck around. I think a collection or Remake of the original Mirror's Edge would be great. There was that Nvidia leak detailing a Mirror's Edge RTX Remaster, and I could imagine a Remake of the original with Ray Tracing and entirely in Frostbite. Could be a cheaper and faster way to release a Mirror's Edge game for Dice. Who knows, maybe we'll see.
This doesn't make sense to me. They've done Battlefield to death, to the point they're getting troused in professional reviews for trying to make money off of a dead genre (MMO FPS). Not a single MMO FPS even made it to the top 20 console charts in all of 2022, and only 3 made it to the top 50. People are looking for original content and stories. Mirrors edge is still fresh, and there are a billion possible directions the franchise could go in. You know who cosplays as "Battlefield" characters? No one. Go to any comic or gaming convention and there are least 10 Faith Conners. This "play it safe and crank out the same" idea that's been going on for a decade in gaming is coming to an end. That model only worked because the price of consoles and gaming PC were at an all time high, so not everyone got to play them at the same time. So there was a lag in turnover and therefore profitability. Even if the economy tanked and console/game developers tried to manufacture profit lag it wouldn't work. All of the currently alive generations are done with that kind of nonsense; the repetitive clone games. If they wait too long, they'll suffer a change over in management or creative staff and that always tanks a franchise. Always. No exceptions. It's a law in game development.
The whole theme of mirrors edge suits everything thats happening in society today. escaping the matrix, freedom, lgbtq+, feminism, soul-less architecture and much more but instead theyre pushing all that onto Apex legends not knowing they already had it established long back.
@@Luna-ee6tb I think it would be awesome. Imagine having competitive races to get from point A to point B but you can choose your own route. It would have so much potential.
I still expect 1 ME game in every generation to be honest. 10 years of graphical leap is something EA can use. With a huge improvement on graphics, everyone would want to check the new game + it would take more positive critics (because also it's not coming every year like AC or CoD)
The general manager, or management team in general at DICE needs to be fired. They decided to focus on Battlefield (in order to compete with COD) and spent all that time making that dud game 2042 which had some of the worst glitches, no campaign and lowest player counts ever. It really annoys me when they make talented developers do stupid games. They need to come to terms with the fact that their Battlefield days are over and they will never compete with COD in terms of numbers. They need to focus on what they're good at which is making innovative, story-driven games like Mirror's Edge.
there's a meme for it... not the Dice we want, but the Dice we deserve. does make sense why it would be on the back burner as the last installment sales numbers didn't blow them away.
The fact that we're already getting PS5 Pro and Xbox Series X^2 rumors is insane. I agree that this generation will last for a decade (2020-2030). DICE needs to put out a Mirrors Edge remake for the 9th Gen. systems.
I can totally see a Mirror's Edge Remake for this generation. Entirely frostbite, smoother control scheme like Catalyst and Ray Traced reflections. I don't think the work involved would be too demanding or nearly as much as to make an entirely new game. I think the Nvidia Leak also suggested a Mirror's Edge RTX. So it makes sense for that to actually happen, so far the leak has been spot on too.
Dice should sell some sort of proprietary rights to another developer to continue the ME games! i tell you now, i dont care about those multiplayer shooters, and im not following Dice anymore at all 😅 fact.
I wrote a new comment on your other vid! Let's keep the talks going guys so developers might read them and think oh mirrors edge DOES still have a fan base and consider it reason to make me3
Two great and amazing games, bringing back so many memories I hope DICE Breaks free from the battlefield developing simulator every year and gives us a final ME.
Remakes are very dangerous grounds. Remember the first Resident Evil's remake, and remember the remake of the third. The first game was begging to be remade, it was so limited back then, and not fully realized. The remake ended up being a completely different product! Lots and lots of new stuff, and every area had been changed. While one might think the first Mirror's Edge is also limited and unrealized, one would have to create a completely different product. Graphics are so fresh even today, that a simple graphical overhaul would be pointless. What do you think? Would you buy a game where reflections are nicer and controls are more forgiving? I, for one, wouldn't. I would buy a game that features reworked levels, a new OST by Solar Fields (gosh that would be amazing), new movements and gameplay mechanics.
I think an expansion of the story with larger levels and smoother gameplay would definitely need to be considered for a possible Remake. But yes, there is always a risk in changing it up to the point where it feels entirely different. I could see them completely getting rid of gun-combat in a Remake, but honestly would prefer if they kept it as close to the vision as possible. It's all about getting the right people who are equally passionate about the project. By the way I enjoyed all the Resident Evil Remakes, but do wish they would remake the first one in the style of RE2 and RE3.
Tbh I’m not quite sure what to make of the interview. I’m hoping she just said that to make people who bought BF2048 happy, cause I really can’t see them purely focusing on one game, and it doesn’t really make a lot of sense business wise to do so either. There were also rumours that BF2048 had been essentially abandoned with only a skeleton crew working on it, so maybe she’s just doing damage control. Maybe I’m just living in delusion but I’m hoping that’s the case cause I would give anything for another Mirror’s Edge, or at the very least a next gen upgrade for catalyst 😅
I think they are on damage control and probably scrambling to save 2042 however they could. But I doubt that game will ever make a recovery. It's the first Battlefield game I didn't buy and I know many did the same. The article title is also a bit pessimistic and I think doesn't correctly convey what Dice was trying to say here. Their goal right now is to reclaim/repair their reputation and it's crucial for them in order to survive. My recommendation to Dice is the make Bad Company 3, bring back a fun campaign and focused on team objective multiplayer that they very well did before. After the success of that and perhaps a Star Wars Battlefront 3, then I can see another Mirror's Edge happening. But it will take a long time. Don't lose Faith😉
To me Catalyst lacked lot of the charm of the original game. What I really wish is that they would release an remastered, upgraded (60fps, 4K) version of the first game on new gen of consoles. And if it would be successful maybe consider direct sequel to that.
I just think it would be such a waste to throw away all that work in creating the world of Catalyst by rebooting the series again. Although, I can see perhaps the original game's story, along with even it's city taking place within the lore of Catalyst at some point. But yes, I do agree that Catalyst has much less character than the original. The theme song Still Alive is recognizable and remembered even today, I don't see anyone sharing Warning Call at all.
I thought Catalyst had plenty of charm. Running around on skyscraper rooftops in a futuristic world gave it such a surreal feeling. The only thing it really lacked was NPCs, and they mostly all looked exactly the same with different clothes. It felt very sparse but the level design was fantastic.
Let me know what you think if you ever come around to playing it. The first one is very inspiring and came out during an era of great creativity. Catalyst has faults but shows some great potential too.
@@IndustrialGamer the concept of free running I do like. But there is a zombie- game that has it to. In early Assassins Creed games it was also included in third-person. If I play it someday, you hear it. Have a nice weekend Cameron. I have 2 nightshifts to go and than 7 days of. Been playing Sniper Elite 5 this week and love it. It has great Stealth in it. Great bullet-kill-cam. Hope there will be another one in the future and ofcourse a Mafia 4, GTA 6 ...
I know Catalyst wasn't very successful compared to the first game but I still thought it was a lot of fun, I really hope that some day some how EA and DICE give the series another chance
Technically Mirror's Edge 2, i do hope in the sequel for the reboot Jackknife is a good guy, he was so cool and interesting character. I didn't like how they turned him into villain and he died in such anti-climatic way. However with this woke bs nowadays and how they messed up the studio and BF2042, i'm worried for the game.
Hopefully they improve on the combat like adding dead island analog fighting controls but make it like fight night champion where u just flick the stick add in def jam fight for NY type of grappling, submissions, wall attacks And adding in additional animations for directional kicks And adding back in weapons and the ability to disarm said weapons Add more scenes where you the player can be grabbed and tossed like in that one fight scene when u come thru the door and the big dude grabs you and tosses u off the building Add the ability to activate slow mo when you use combat shift when dodging an enemy at the last moment give it that max Payne bayonetta feel Add a cyberpunk like huge open world with lots of interactivity by interactivity I mean sims 4 like needs gotta eat or u die gotta sleep or u die and fable series type jobs and fallout 4 type survival mode incase we didn’t wanna be a runner only Add the ability to join or form your own runner faction Add the ability for us to make our own runner They could do so much with the mirrors edge franchise Edit: I’m probably one of the few ppl who will ever admit this but I actually prefer mirrors edge style of walking, running, climbing obstacles over dying light in dying light it feels to cartoonish but in mirrors edge faith felt right I will never understand why no other gaming company ever adopted the walking, running, and climbing style and animations in 1st person the way it was done in mirrors edge Like starfield and fallout for instance to this day will not add a body to their 1st person camera for me it sucks the immersive-ness right out of it Imagine being able to move like faith but in your favorite game Edit 2: if your a developer for the mirrors edge IP please go and watch the movie ultra violet Give faith that feel… not the vampire enemies but the type of world, weapons and gadgets violet had accces to for instance the unlimited reloading weapons - players would be forced to disarm Or that gravity belt device that lets violet fall from great heights but gets saved by it last minute but leave in the way that faith falls lol we love the way faith falls to her doom but add this as like a last minute save yourself mechanic Give faith/created character a Akira type/destiny 2 breytech dream 9 (hover bike) like motorcycle Maybe faith can be a bounty Hunter runner now instead of just a runner Edit 3: mirrors edge 1/2 are the best 1st person games I have ever played in my life and I’m 40 played and beat both of’em and ain’t played nothing near mirrors edge the control u had over faith was crazy especially in mirrors edge 2 Mirrors edge 3 needs to be a mix of both 1 and 2 and add more feature Again imagine if u could be faith in something like GTA disarming ppl then running up ah whole skyscraper lol or scaling castles in Skyrim to jump to that dragon in the air or having faiths navigation in Fallout 4 If only other games would just adopt it Edit 4: improve the AI combat make it harder make the enemies hunt faith down and they can fight just like Celeste did us or the new cops in me2 Edit: guess who just stole Mirrors edge movement and innovated upon it Dying light 1/2 the new perfect dark and call of duty modern warfare with it's omni movement!
UHG! OMG! Battlefield is never going to be number 1 over Call Of Duty. It's just not going to happen. NEVER! What a waste of a good opportunity to create other good important games. Mirrors Edge 3 mainly.
I kinda doubt it will ever come. But If it does I hope they stray a lot from what happened with catalyst. They can’t reboot again obviously. But they need the story to actually go somewhere. Get actual voice actors and flesh out side characters. I honestly wouldn’t be hyped for it regardless of any changes. Because catalyst was just so bad
I think that Mirror's Edge should be put to rest, I would like to see a spiritual successor at least, because if there's going to be another MEdge game it's probably going to be more or less panned as MEC despite of how much unique it might be, people will always going to compare those games and criticise any small thing that changes, that's why I still 'till this day think that MEC was so heavily undeappreciated, and it's deffinetely going to be made by other devs because original MEdge and Catalyst devs long ago leaved DICE and work at many other studios around the world. Talking about MEC, I was so much impressed by this game, that I'll never trust public opinion that's going to critizing any game. Despite of me loving the first game and waiting for Catalyst, I postponed this game on one year until summer of 2017 because at that time I was more interested in other games and didn't paid attention to it after it's failure, and it's turned out to be my favourite game of all time 'till these days, I was just deeply shocked 'cuz of how much this game surpassed my expectation (despite of being quite unpolished and noticably rushed) which were pretty low after how much this game was criticised. For a few years I felt myself like a crazy person that loves the game that hated by almost everyone else (well, at least in russian internet it's still almost universally heavily hated around gamers until these very days, but that's a completely different story).
That's a very interesting perspective. I would certainly love if Mirror's Edge can coexist with any spiritual successor, but I do think this style of gameplay needs to be explored deeper. As someone here pointed out, I think a new developer like Respawn could do wonders with the series. Or even if EA was willing to sell it off to a new publisher/developer similar to how Square Enix did with Deus Ex and Tomb Raider. Guess we'll have to wait and see. I think you make a very important point about reviews. When I started working and could afford my own games, I stopped listening to reviews and just bought anything I wanted to play. I always try to enter every game with a fresh open mind and a positive attitude. I think reviewers are often stressed from having to play a large game in a short timeframe and push out a large article that many will read. If someone was forcing me to play games and rush through them to hit a deadline, of course that would manipulate the scores to be negative. Other times, some professional reviewers aren't really gamers at heart and don't play much of anything in their spare time. Thinking for yourself is always the way to go.
To be completely honest I think it’s all about marketing. They don’t want to release something about an Asian American in the Northwest US/Vancouver area because they don’t think it’ll create enough draw. I think that’s really shortsighted, and I hope I’m wrong about what I’m saying, but that’s what it seems like to me.
yea op trippin faith being asian never scared anyone away from the game. mirrors edge has been around since 2006, it wasnt an issue then and wont be an issue now….. this jus seems like a huge reach
"there is no time for anything else and this is what we want to do, we want to be the first -person shooter powerhouse that dice deserves to be and that's what were going for" by dice gm - sure seems like a NO to me said in a nice way. then u admitted there isn't any high demand for it besides the fans and the games sold well in throughout the years but still average. "there's so much lore and backstory to pull from" bruh its only two games u saying it as if these games were made in the 70's or something this series hasn't been out that long with a 6 years gap between 1 & 2 the story is ok but still weak and the in-game artsyle in ME1 didn't match up with cutscene artstyle and tbh THE entire SERIES LACKS AN DIRECTION
I'm really, really not exited. They going to make it like the second one. I mean that bad. All of you can be 💯% sure about. We don't have good gaming days ahead of us.

If you didnt so much like ME:C. play it on pc with retextures, takedown and skill mods. It changes it and makes it so fun to replay as a new game+.
I really want a new Mirror's Edge. Hopefully when we do get it, it's detailed and expands what Catalyst did.
We all know it will. Don’t worry imagine on PlayStation 5!!

Poético.
@@cl4rru Obrigado.
it's time for a new Mirror's Edge game
We all wanted an expansion of the first game, but instead they completely abandoned the foundation they built and that everybody loved. Catalyst isn't a bad game but it's just not what the fanbase originally wanted. Hopefully Dice makes ME3 a good mix of the first two games.
Couldn’t have said it better myself a mix of both
I completely agree, didn't really care much for Catalyst but the original was a goddamn masterpiece.
Blasphemy!
tbh the STORROR game will be p good to fill the gap. I do agree that ME2 is underrated and ME1 is overrated tho.
Is it about Faith
I literally played ME1 after Catalyst and I loved ME1 way more. But you can feel whatever you want to feel bud.
Thanks for your love for the Mirror's Edge franchise and the update.
I like Catalyst better ngl. More Lore, Errands are fun, More customization
the original game was a side / passion project afaik and the people who made it allegedly didn't like the way EA operated and moved on to other projects or studios before the sequel (or "reboot" as it was sometimes referred to at the time) was even in production.
not sure when or how this happened exactly but it would explain why the second game was so different and possibly why DICE hasn't had any plans for a third instalment since, or maybe ever. again, just what i heard so don't quote me on it
Im hoping for mirrors edge 3 every day.
The fame is about movement and parkour, not about fighting.
It’s ah mix of both
I still play catalyst and really loved it and will keep going back to it :)
Same here!
I hope it's a sequel and not a prequel
I still waiting for Mirror's edge
I hope for the next game Johannes art direct the game again.
valorant isnt even a game ,its an unfun competitive, repetitive shithole with the same formula, but it keeps the mainstream audience entertained somehow
for people who enjoy real games we still have amazing indie developers and game companies who care for great games.
Ah so we got a Mirror's Edge reboot, and then afterwards a Mirror's Edge respawn
been a huge fan of the series. I'm happy to know its at least on the backburner.
#StillAlive #BringBackMirrorsEdge
i would really love a ME3 with the classic mechanics of the original. MEC just didn't feel nearly as fun to play. but still enjoyed it for what it was.
I thought it was more fun to play, just the main narrative wasn't as par with the original.
Very helpful and informative video my guy! Completely agree with everything you said! Fingers crossed for a complete Mirrors Edge trilogy! Appreciate it!
Honestly when the first mirrors edge came out I was 9, I got it on my Xbox 360 because I thought faith looked cool on the front, and since I’ve been obsessed, I played catalyst on release and now I’m 20, if I end up having to be 30 before we see faiths future, although I’ll be upset, I’ll be happy to at least someday see that faith is ok, she’s a character that will always have an impact for me, her bravery is a massive part of her
Translate my message, i'm Brazilian🇧🇷❤️
Exato, como eu queria um ME3... de qualquer maneira, foi uma ótima franquia.
Best game i have ever played..
I think they should remaster either the original or Catalyst with Unreal Engine 5, fix the bugs and make it more visually appealing
I hope we get to see more settings like the last mission on catalyst and more trees
I was literaly playing Mirror's Edge yesterday, got some of my fastest times on trials. So hoping that some good news gets around eventually
I like to casually jump in and out of the game too. It's basically zen to me at this point lol
@@IndustrialGamer Absolutely. Nothing is more gratifying than learning on your own to smoothly traverse areas you before though you understood perfectly
Mirror's Edge Freefall Update
Mirror's edge online would be sick and open new doors. Sad they won't take the risk.
I wouldn't like that really. Feels weird for mirror's edge
@@Luna-ee6tb I think it would be awesome. Imagine having competitive races to get from point A to point B but you can choose your own route. It would have so much potential.
@@cun7usagreed
Catalyst had that function for time trials
I still expect 1 ME game in every generation to be honest. 10 years of graphical leap is something EA can use. With a huge improvement on graphics, everyone would want to check the new game + it would take more positive critics (because also it's not coming every year like AC or CoD)
EA never learns, story based games has never been their strongest suits, theyre mostly focused on how many fifa and wwe they can pump out in a year
Yet, when we moved from PS3 to PS4, the game looked far worse.
I like that poster back there. It looks mirror’s edge.
Little clicky baity title there mate.
there's a meme for it... not the Dice we want, but the Dice we deserve.
does make sense why it would be on the back burner as the last installment sales numbers didn't blow them away.
Well, I think the current Dice is neither the studio we want or deserve haha.
@@IndustrialGamer Well that's the thing about dice. Sometimes it rolls 1 or 2
The fact that we're already getting PS5 Pro and Xbox Series X^2 rumors is insane.
Im down for a Mirror's Edge reboot for PS5 & Series X
Dice should sell some sort of proprietary rights to another developer to continue the ME games! i tell you now, i dont care about those multiplayer shooters, and im not following Dice anymore at all 😅 fact.
I wrote a new comment on your other vid! Let's keep the talks going guys so developers might read them and think oh mirrors edge DOES still have a fan base and consider it reason to make me3
Thank you very much! Yes, we must keep the energy to encourage a new Mirror's Edge!
Two great and amazing games, bringing back so many memories
I hope DICE Breaks free from the battlefield developing simulator every year and gives us a final ME.
Always liked your mirrors edge coverage. Glad to hear you think they will make another one. I really hope so!
Thanks for still being here. Although I feel it will be awhile, I'm confident that-that fateful day will come!
The original looks so fresh even today, a remaster would be pointless and a waste of money, no one would buy it.
@Romanian patriot It certainly has its own atmosphere, though the original had this different type of feeling that's difficult to explain fully
I thought Catalyst had plenty of charm. Running around on skyscraper rooftops in a futuristic world gave it such a surreal feeling. The only thing it really lacked was NPCs, and they mostly all looked exactly the same with different clothes. It felt very sparse but the level design was fantastic.
I honestly never played these games. I own Catalist. But never came to it.
Mirrors edge is unlike any other game. I NEED a new game 😭
IS THIS REAL?
they are focusing on battlefield and couldnt make that one good as well
Technically Mirror's Edge 2, i do hope in the sequel for the reboot Jackknife is a good guy, he was so cool and interesting character. I didn't like how they turned him into villain and he died in such anti-climatic way. However with this woke bs nowadays and how they messed up the studio and BF2042, i'm worried for the game.
Hopefully they improve on the combat like adding dead island analog fighting controls but make it like fight night champion where u just flick the stick add in def jam fight for NY type of grappling, submissions, wall attacks
And adding in additional animations for directional kicks
And adding back in weapons and the ability to disarm said weapons
Add more scenes where you the player can be grabbed and tossed like in that one fight scene when u come thru the door and the big dude grabs you and tosses u off the building
Add the ability to activate slow mo when you use combat shift when dodging an enemy at the last moment give it that max Payne bayonetta feel
Add a cyberpunk like huge open world with lots of interactivity by interactivity I mean sims 4 like needs gotta eat or u die gotta sleep or u die and fable series type jobs and fallout 4 type survival mode incase we didn’t wanna be a runner only
Add the ability to join or form your own runner faction
Add the ability for us to make our own runner
They could do so much with the mirrors edge franchise
Edit: I’m probably one of the few ppl who will ever admit this but I actually prefer mirrors edge style of walking, running, climbing obstacles over dying light in dying light it feels to cartoonish but in mirrors edge faith felt right
I will never understand why no other gaming company ever adopted the walking, running, and climbing style and animations in 1st person the way it was done in mirrors edge
Like starfield and fallout for instance to this day will not add a body to their 1st person camera for me it sucks the immersive-ness right out of it
Imagine being able to move like faith but in your favorite game
Edit 2: if your a developer for the mirrors edge IP please go and watch the movie ultra violet
Give faith that feel… not the vampire enemies but the type of world, weapons and gadgets violet had accces to for instance the unlimited reloading weapons - players would be forced to disarm
Or that gravity belt device that lets violet fall from great heights but gets saved by it last minute but leave in the way that faith falls lol we love the way faith falls to her doom but add this as like a last minute save yourself mechanic
Give faith/created character a Akira type/destiny 2 breytech dream 9 (hover bike) like motorcycle
Maybe faith can be a bounty Hunter runner now instead of just a runner
Edit 3: mirrors edge 1/2 are the best 1st person games I have ever played in my life and I’m 40 played and beat both of’em and ain’t played nothing near mirrors edge the control u had over faith was crazy especially in mirrors edge 2
Mirrors edge 3 needs to be a mix of both 1 and 2 and add more feature
Again imagine if u could be faith in something like GTA disarming ppl then running up ah whole skyscraper lol or scaling castles in Skyrim to jump to that dragon in the air or having faiths navigation in Fallout 4
If only other games would just adopt it
Edit 4: improve the AI combat make it harder make the enemies hunt faith down and they can fight just like Celeste did us or the new cops in me2
Edit: guess who just stole Mirrors edge movement and innovated upon it
Dying light 1/2 the new perfect dark and call of duty modern warfare with it's omni movement!
boy send that to EA

UHG!

Thinking for yourself is always the way to go.
its so funny how mirrors edge did better then battlefield 2042 and it sold less units it should say something
Battlefield is ass tho. They're wasting their time with that nonsense
To be completely honest I think it’s all about marketing. They don’t want to release something about an Asian American in the Northwest US/Vancouver area because they don’t think it’ll create enough draw. I think that’s really shortsighted, and I hope I’m wrong about what I’m saying, but that’s what it seems like to me.
so making black main characters is fine, but not asian?
yea op trippin faith being asian never scared anyone away from the game. mirrors edge has been around since 2006, it wasnt an issue then and wont be an issue now….. this jus seems like a huge reach
@@soulja0 tbh i started liking asian women more because of Faith.
