A small cocktail party without Demoman....... seriously, I'm posing like a video per year and most of my stuff is about Demo. Hence the poll for the most underrepresented mercs.
A huge thank you to EltorroRus for his amazing TF2 rigs (especially Pyro OMG this is what I always dreamed about since Pyro Paints), and a shoutout to PenolAkushari for following in Winded's footsteps and slowly turning Gmod into an actual animation software thanks to the Stop Motion Helper.
Bits of dialogue were made thanks to uberduck.ai: uberduck.ai/

Honestly, medic smelling a drink he’s offered and realizing it’s piss only to still try it feels in character
When you consider that doctors used to taste a patient's urine just to see how sweet it was. Mainly in the means of identifying potential kidney issues or diabetes. That's just remarkably on brand for the medic.

I've never heard someone mix sentence mixing and ai-generated voice like that. Does wonders for both tone and clarity.
Both have strengths and weaknesses, just like 2D and 3D. :3

Kostamonen does it. He uses AI for Words that the Characters haven't Canonically Said.
It breathes new life into gmod videos.

I guess he bought one of those tiny desk engineers
It has a glass material, which means pony integrated 3d into grease pencil which when done carefully like here provides great results

I love it when Gmod animators give Pyro expressive eyes. Just makes him even more lovable.
those subtitles are a work of art. the splicing is as smooth as warm butter. the story at 0:43 is a masterpiece.
I love how all of the characters talk in different ways.
Pyro just uses subtitles for their voice lines
Sniper uses AI
Medic uses sentence mixing
and you voice yourself
Honestly the main reason for this was that Medic's AI sounded terrible and out of touch for me (he yelled too much). Sniper's was surprisingly good (especially since he has 2 different tones).
@@ThatGrayCartoonPony Well, snipers quiet tone is already quite gritty so I can see why he would work great compared to Medic's constant yelling
So that's why I find Robin Atkin Downes calm voice for Medic weird,most of the voicelines for Medic are him just yelling so it's weird for me not to hear him yelling as well.
Like,there are a few voice commands where he doesn't yell or speak in a somewhat loud or neutral tone.
And by his voice I mean him using his medic voice calmly like when he dubbed the TF2 comics

The concept of being trapped in a gmod animation or the tasty bushshine
The detail on that fluid animation though, how he accidentally drops a bit of sugar on the table, how the sugar then gets pushed up by the force of the ethanol coming up, and how the concoction takes up more space after adding ethanol, it’s magnificent
To anyone else wondering what that spooky music that was playing as sniper had a mental breakdown, its called "The Girl from Corsica".
Love the Rubber Toon style animation in gmod still blows my mind on how you managed to pull it off. Love seeing more of your work
you are an unbelievably talented animator, i keep rewatching every single line of dialogue because there's so much character and expression in them

Salt would be WAY too much, since urine already is a pretty salty substance.
Also, you will DEFINITELY want to have water with this stuff, since it will probably make you super dehydrated.
It took me a few rewatches to notice the reflection of the screen in the bottle and glasses at the end

That part where Medic is analyzing the piss was such eye candy because his movements looked so toony and natural at the same time! It was like I watched a part of a 3D animated movie. You have incredible animation skills and it inspires me to try it out too!

If you drink a lot lot lot of water you can piss clean and clear. When you save it for later, it won't smell like piss, maybe not even taste like piss, but it'll be piss

I've never seen an animation that is so impressive yet terrifying. The Sniper fucking SCARES me, and I got a genuine fright from that rock-head Demoman. XD
Instructions:
Step 1:
Piss in a jar.
Step 2:
Add Some Sugar.
Step 3:
Add Pure Ethanol
Step 4:
Shake It up to let the sugar dissolve in the juice.
(Only a few shakes will be enough as it dissolves very well)
Step 5: Add some ice cubes and lime juice if you want to.
And Voila! You BushShine Is ready to be served!

The animation and voices are amazing, you can tell its still AI but at the same time you can barely hear it with great sentence mixing. I really love the work and effort that was put into this animation and the faces, along with the movements, are all so funny and fluid its beautiful. Amazing job, bravo good sir.

Sniper's sad animation at 0:48 is actually pretty good, because he's acting instead of just spazzing around.
Everything else, eesh... it's like an even poorer man's Cans Without Labels or knockoff Hazbin Hotel style. It's better to have 1 steak than to shove 30 twinkies into your mouth, and cramming in a shitton of wacky flailing around doesn't make the animation good.

1:24 There is no way that you just accomplished that level of smoothness in an animation. That is incredible.
I know it's amazing! The way they blend the 2d with the 3d is perfect. If you go frame by frame you can even see they animate in 1s instead of much easier and faster but not as "smooth" looking 2s or 4s. They really outdid themselves and it shows.

1:05 There's something so subtly horrifying to me about the way medic interrupts snipers vent. It's funny until you're reminded THIS is the demented reality sniper and the others live inside, full of constant incoherent silliness that he too can't resist outside of small bursts of awareness before getting swept away by the whims of the ridiculous plot. whether it is forced upon them by the nature of this world, or what they've become to distract themselves from the insanity of their situation may forever be a mystery.

@@lexsamreeth8724 i think its more about the artist being lazy and negectful with the love of his characters and leaving them behind to be forgotten, than just forcing them to put on a pantimime of unfunny jokes until they just get tired of the same stuff...
And sure, the 9 classes have kinda been doing the same stereotypical jokes for the past 14 years now with only more intensity, but that doesnt mean they cant be repurposed into other forms, mediums and contexts to make them more funny. Long story short: VALVE GET OF YOUR FRIGGIN ASS!!

I love how despite sniper being in a still pose at 0:39 he is still animated. In most gmod animations that sniper would've been completely still. I love how far the animation side of the gmod community has got, to the point an inspiring animator can look at this and get some insight to improve on their own animation skills.
i mean, that movement has a purpose, so no if any other animation would need to convey him reading the subtitles, they would necessarily have to animate that too.

Everyone in TF2 has their own unique brand of insane. Pyro however simply hallucinates, or is delusional, whatever he is, there's only really one layer of insanity to him. It's more fun if he's the sane one regardless of canon
