a lot of VR games on Steam are pretty well made if yk where to look. Stumbled upon the demo for Compound around a month ago and instantly bought it; looks even better in the headset 👀
I'll just say this bro, you move the needle. This game is officially on the map because of you. Picked it up myself solely based on this video and never would have looked at it otherwise. Clearly, I'm not the only one. Pretty cool dude. Keep it up!
Habie saying "eat your heart out H3VR" after flipping the gun closed is very humorous to me, considering not only that you **can** do that in H3VR...Anton, the lead dev, helped with this game's guns (or at least the starting pistol)
The gunplay in H3VR is so granular and complex you can do some amazing shit. Big learning curve, and I see why Habie had trouble. A couple of the break actions are difficult to close, too. H3VR is first and foremost a simulator. I have trouble playing other shooters after so much time in H3.
The guy who made Compound deserves a huge spotlight for all his hard work. This is what all devs should strive for. This is one of the best games to just pick up and play. A must have. He just keeps growing it, while putting other studios to shame. Makes you wonder what the hell anyone else has been up to.
Playing Compound on Old Schooler Mode(Orange Syringe from the Vending Machine) is definitely how you want to play the game. And even though there's no seat mode, you can easily adjust your PSVR2's Floor level as a work around. My only real gripe with this game is that it's a rogue lite. You die once and you have to start all the way back from the beginning, within 15 stages. I wish there was a mode that would grant you something like 3 lives and 'then' it's game over after you lose them all.
I'm surprised Habie missed the H3VR poster in the shooting range. It's a fun detail, because apparently Anton actually helped the dev with the starting pistol
When I tried the demo of this a few weeks back I was so surprised at how clear it looked. There was absolutely no blur at all, and in that sense it was the cleanest VR game I've ever seen despite the low detail artstyle
@@washingmachine539 If I didn't have the low storage Quest 2 I would have bought it by now. There's a few games I just haven't got because I don't have space lol. Hopefully the Quest 3 isn't shit so I can upgrade to have a decent amount of storage next time
I’m constantly blown away by how much the subscriber count has raised so quickly since I first discovered Habie with 30,000 subs Then I remember i literally bought a VR headset because of him so he obviously is doing something right
I found this game a few weeks ago and immediately fell in love with the art style and roguelike gameplay, and I'm so glad that my favourite vr RUclipsr made a video about it!
I’m surprised at how much habie understated how GOOD the guns feel in this game. Every gun has superb sound design, from firing the gun, reloading the magazine, to hearing it’s discarded casings bounce on the ground after each shot. Personal favorites are the clack of the grenade pistol closing, the *ping* of the energy smg, and the revolver’s discarded casings bouncing on the ground in unison. Compound is absolutely worth the price of admission and I couldn’t recommend it enough.
some of the takes he makes in general seem to give off dumb normie vibes imo, stuff like the artstyle comments. He's made them in other videos too and as much as I like the guy it's a little maddening lol
I hope Habie knows he singlehandedly has such a tight hold around the VR market, he can literally control what games do well and what don't. After every video, the game shown in it will receive a massive increase in purchases and players.
I bought this game because of this video, and it is by far one of the greatest games I've ever played. addicting as a flash game, polished as a game from the 80s, and has enough content to keep you coming back even after you beat it. It's fantastic and I love it, and it's thanks to you that I had the initiative to try it.
the funny thing is that I actually recognized the hotline miami song you played 0.3 seconds of Edit: it is from Hotline miami 2 'divide' and I'm pretty sure it's from 2:00-2:01 when the melody pitches up
played this a few years ago, Such a friggin good game, and only more rewarding the harder the difficulty you set. The dev is great and listens to feedback also.
I'm glad you checked this game out. It was one of the first few VR games I had played a few years back when I first got a vr headset, although back then, only the demo existed.
I just love that the artstyle is so consistent and faithful throughout the gameplay, if only the enemy animations weren't so smooth, it kinda breaks the illusion of a 3D 90s era game for me but oc that's just personal preferences

This is perfect. VR games in the simple lo res 80's 90's style is exactly what I want. Playing old Atari game, Nintendo games, even PC games in VR would be so much fun.
I stumbled upon this game by chance and picked it up for the lulz, now it is one of my favorite VR shooters I own. Still trying beat the game with the damage enhancement mutation on (everything dies in 1 shot, but so do you) I recommend running on the hardest difficulty while doing this challenge because it makes the difference with the tougher enemies and forces. 10/10 great solo experience to pick up.

Hey Habie a game from 98 was actually just put in VR recently. Falcon 4.0 with the Falcon BMS mod. It's got the best dynamic campaign ever put into a game
The Under Presents' multiplayer and campaign have to be my favourite experiences with VR, and yes I've played Alyx and Boneworks. The campaign has story telling no other VR game can compare to and the multiplayers main draw for me is trying to communicate with other people by only clicking your fingers and pointing at things. An absolute blast would highly recommend.

Been loving Compound so far! Picked it up a few weeks ago and love the witty humor, procedural levels, and different “biomes”! Definitely captured that retro gaming and 80s/90s sci fi feeling 👍
Compound tip for anyone reading, for some reason the shotgun pistols aren't linked to other ones with ammo useage unlike the other two pistols, so you can use them independantly which turns them into a very effective weapons choice
I bought Quest 2 about two weeks ago, and I'm glad I've accidentally stumbled upon this video while waiting for my purchase to arrive. Compound is one of my favorite VR games.
To respond to the title of the video, there have been many games from the 90's that have been put into VR like Quake 1,2 and 3, Half Life and it's expansions, Return to Castle Wolfenstein and so on and I absolutely love to play those in VR. I've played Compound too and it's great.

To respond to the title of the video, there have been many games from the 90's that have been put into VR like Quake 1,2 and 3, Half Life and it's expansions, Return to Castle Wolfenstein and so on and I absolutely love to play those in VR. I've played Compound too and it's great.
Ah yes, the time before farts took over the smooth brains
im subbing due to your smooth calm demeanor. I would love to see you get way over 1m subs and eventually become as popular as say jack or mark for sure.
Bro I love this game so much. Every time I boot up my Quest I’m like…
“One round of Compound” and it may turn into several 😂
I've never played a game that encourages finding good music to go along with it more than this one
Damn you freaked me out. I was about to play Skyrim and i decided to watch your video before lanching the game. And at 4:10 i though i messed up and the game launched on itself xDD
Anyway really great video, i wanna test this game too now
Compound is like when a someone in a cartoon gets trapped in a video game
Downloaded the demo because of this video and ngl i never wanted to replay a demo over and over again this badly
