Dylan O'Brien is really good at showing his characters growth and I agree that it's something a lot of movies (and even shows sometimes) forget to show

Saw it, it's well worth your time! I wanted more. I know it's too early but I'm hoping for a sequel. On another note; this would be be an awesome video game if done right!
At no time watching this film did my mind wander onto other things. This film kept me enthralled until the end. The film director deserves praise for turning it into a masterpiece. And perfect casting in Dylan O' Brien who is among the best actors of his generation. His eyes can convey so much. Basically if he's in the film -any film - I will watch it.
He went through so much just to go see his girlfriend and she breaks it to him that she doesn't want to be with him. Just because, while leading him on for years over the radio, she starting banging some other dude who died. She was poorly written and that part broke my heart.
I never would have watched this movie without your review. Now that I have, I'm glad I did. The family loved it. I don't think there will be, but I hope there's sequels in the future. It was funny, heart-felt, and acted well. Thanks!
Years ago I watched some Teen Wolf episodes just bc I loved Dylan's portrayal of Stiles - his acting was what made the character so likable. Back then I thought "he's gonna be huge, he just needs some breakthrough role". When "The Maze Runner" happened I thought the same would happen to him as Jennifer Lawrence, he'd be getting some challenging roles in brilliant movies. Now... seems like I'm still waiting. Like Jeremy said, Dylan is a charismatic and instantly likable actor, the range of roles he could potentially play is enormous. I love comedies, action, light scifi and YA dystopian movies, but it's time he finally got some more challenging character to portray.
The monsters kinda remind me of that one scene in the King Kong movie with Jack Black, where they all fall down a gorge and where there are giant worms, roaches, etc.
I like how everything ties in. The use of cherkovs gun is soooo satisfying. They jse it like 4 times which makes every single dialogue and banter important
Dylan O'Brien has been one of my favorite actors since I saw him in the Teen Wolf tv show. He is like the only thing that kept my watching that show. Styles reminded me of a young Jim Carrey but alittle more tame.
The jab at the Monster Hunter movie hurt me as a MH veteran, because I, and everybody else, know it's true. Which actually just makes me more likely to give this a shot!
I am not a veteran the only one played was a 3ds one and planning to play the rest. I really think this movie is going to be fun and plot does not to be bad, i mean i am mostly there to see monster fights and cool swords, i know the director and mila jovovich kinda ruined the resident evil franchise but it was fun and i hope this one is
@@Jorge117-g8n To each their own values, but personally for a franchise I hold dearly I'd at least have liked to say it got a good movie. Unfortunately that doesn't seem to be this timeline.
As a veteran player as well, this looks like a disappointment from a fans perspective. Because we can see how much potential the franchise had to make a really great movie, if only they paid a little more attention. But I'm willing to watch it when it comes out, and just laugh at everything they did wrong.
Its not like Monster Hunter has a strong story in the first place. The strongest aspect is its world and thats what the Monster Hunter movie looks to be doing. Placing people from our world into the world of Monster Hunter and they will have to hunt Monsters. People generally need a character or event to bring them into a universe. You dont want a flop like Warhammer happening.
@@ComicCrossing Of course, but there are many other ways to acheive that narrative. Lord of the Rings does this, where the audience can see through Frodo's perspective because he is also new to this side of the world. You can do that without having to bring freaking military people to shoot monsters with rocket launchers. To me, that ruins the fantasy flavor of Monster Hunter, by adding in cheap movie references. That aint good storytelling, that just laziness, cause they don't want to take the time getting into Worldbuilding with depth.
I really like all of these actors. Dylan O’Brien is pretty awesome, and so is Jessica Henwick! If Tom Holland wasn’t Peter Parker, Dylan O’Brien would unironically be my first choice
I finally saw this and thought it felt like a throwback to an 80's kids movie, it actually earned the PG-13 rating with the balance of light hearted humor and very emotional and tense moments. Plus the wacky monster designs and the use of practical effects in places was really nice to see for a film made today, sure they still used CGI but where they could have a monster be practical they had it be practical. I could've totally seen some of them as stop motion, or Jim Henson puppets or even maybe Stan Winston animatronics if this were made back then.
He made such an easy protagonist to get behind and was the powerhouse behind the whole trilogy! Not gonna lie, that trilogy is actually a bit of a guilty pleasure of mine 😎
This was the first movie in a while that didn't have wokery activism as its core message or even forced into it as a subplot or scene. Genuine character growth and a positive message, damn I've missed movies like that.
I think that a Good thing in a way, I wont lie the moment I saw the trailer, my expectation was low, but after giving the movie a chance and watched it was really really good.

But it was also $20.00 to watch. Probably why, me as the father, didn't override their, No vote. I'll give it chance now.
This is a damn good moving road movie, my only complain was it didn’t show much giant bugs/monsters that it hinted & mentioned throughout the movie. Both Dylan O Brian on the lead & that dog as his surprise companion was a treat to watch. Btw, that PRESIDENT KILLED BY GIANT MOTH paper clipping was a great Godzilla homage 😁
I kinda accepted that the dog had lost someone. When the survivalist guy said “we all have stories like that “ as in having lost a loved one, I thought of the dog.
Super grateful for the recommendation, Jahns. This was the monsterpocalypse fallout zombieland movie I knew I needed. And it was perfect for this year.
I feel you about the Monster Hunter movie Jeremy, felt like they were giving fans the finger when I saw the trailer. It's like having the U.S. Army show up in Game of Thrones and take over as the main characters.
Except there is in game precedence for it; in MGS Peace Walker, there is a mission that sees Big Boss transported to the world of Monster Hunter were he has to fight giant creatures. So yes, according to the games it can happen.

YES!! Or Johnny Storm for the MCU so he can pal around with his favorite character, Spider-Man!
0:42 most underrated line of this channel xD
I'd be down to see a sequel of this film. Dylan has always been a good actor.
Loving the more frequent reviews! Getting your take on "b-sides" like this is a fun way to be exposed to stuff I wouldn't have checked out otherwise! Wouldn't want you to burn yourself out at this pace all year, but a very fun October treat!
I feel like this movie was definitely alluding towards a sequel, and I want that. I didn't want the movie to end, very enjoyable
Favorite monster movie: Tremors, no question.
Tremors 4 was better
@@fox12ful let’s agree to disagree.
Tremors 1 was the real deal👍
tremors: return of the tremors was better
@@fox12ful It went downhill after four
I am gonna watch this tonight Thank God Dylan is back after Maze Runner 3
Same
I always wanted Dylan to play spider-man and I believe he would play the character well. Probably the best spider-man to never play spider-man.
Dylan O'Brien is really good at showing his characters growth and I agree that it's something a lot of movies (and even shows sometimes) forget to show
If only the filmmakers behind Jurassic World: Dominion had watched this.
Love Dylan O'brien, was one of the people I was hoping to play spider-man in the mcu a few years back
one of the things i love most in this movie, is that in the end he says "if i survived in the surface, anyone can" and that is true, that is why is so inspiring, he shown us that you can become better than you are right now
So it’s zombieland but monsters? I’ll take it
I’m a 36 year old man and I cried 10 times watching this flick. Joy, sadness, laughter, and intense-ness. Great to watch with your lady. It’s a great movie.
Best supporting actor Oscar goes to... Boy
Who's the good boy... Yes, you are
He went through so much just to go see his girlfriend and she breaks it to him that she doesn't want to be with him. Just because, while leading him on for years over the radio, she starting banging some other dude who died. She was poorly written and that part broke my heart.
Hella predicable 😂 you knew she wasn’t waiting …girls waiting …HA! In this day n age HA!
I never would have watched this movie without your review. Now that I have, I'm glad I did. The family loved it. I don't think there will be, but I hope there's sequels in the future. It was funny, heart-felt, and acted well. Thanks!
Thanks for also mentioning the family friendly aspect of this movie 👍🏾
When “The Education of Fredrick Fitzell” comes out, it’ll be the point where he rises and gets more roles. Watch the trailer for it
Hey Jeremy, have you ever watched the late 90s horror film called “The Faculty “ ? It will be awesome if you reviewed it!
watched it last night, and man, those FX do not hold up
He’s referenced it in other reviews
Yes,he did.
@@shawnpepin7890 true. But it’s still entertaining though
When I watched it in the 90s I thought it was a comedy lol
Jeremy's looking like John Wick by the Day.
The monsters kinda remind me of that one scene in the King Kong movie with Jack Black, where they all fall down a gorge and where there are giant worms, roaches, etc.
I watched Love and Monsters and King Kong 1933 only hours apart. Lots of Monsters today.
I just watched it and thoroughly enjoyed it and it's definately one of the best movies I've seen in recent times, I really like it
Yep it is indeed one of the best movies.
I swear Jeremy’s content is ageless. I’ll always watch his vids man, they’re the best.
If it’s got Dylan in the movie I’ll watch it he’s really good actor
I like how everything ties in. The use of cherkovs gun is soooo satisfying. They jse it like 4 times which makes every single dialogue and banter important
Day 2 of requesting Jeremy reviews Haunting of Hill House this October XD
One of the best Horror mystery series ever. 100% recommends watching it. Watch both
*Haunting of hill house
*Haunting of bly manor
👍
Dylan O'Brien has been one of my favorite actors since I saw him in the Teen Wolf tv show. He is like the only thing that kept my watching that show. Styles reminded me of a young Jim Carrey but alittle more tame.
When you're so early that you can't just check the comments to know if this movie was good or not..
That's what the review's for.
I had a heart attack and genuinely thought you were reviewing one of the worst episodes of Tennant era Doctor Who when I saw the title.
Still better then current Era of Doctor Who
@@justinbrummett Ohhh yes.
Love and Monsters: _A dog in a dystopian world_
John Wick: _A dog is the cause of a dystopian world_
correction ~ A puppy ~ huge difference between dog & puppy
@@SpadeApeiron haha yes but both are too lovable tho
9/10 One of the underrated movies of the year.
Agree!!
Dylan. O. Brian.
I laugh, I cry, he moves me.
Thanks for mentioning where you saw it Jeremy!
Really appreciate it man!
I read the title and thought of that god awful Doctor Who episode
With Peter Kay. Man it sucked.
I did the exact same thing.
kinda disappointed this isn't about that
that girl becomes a piece of concrete
Peter Kay deserves a better episode
Thanks for another passionate review. One of the few movie review channels I trust.
I have said it then and i will say it now , dylan o'Brien deserves an oscar.
Jeremy, you're such a likeable guy. So glad I subscribed years ago. Wishing you all the best man!
When will you do a review of Godfrey Reggio's haunting masterpiece: Koyaanisqatsi? It is also available on Amazon Prime Video.
I love Dylan in The Maze Runner, and I'm so glad that people who don't know him that well still praise his acting!
This movie is a gem and has endless potential to be many movies even a series to be honest
Yeah those Maze Runner sequels weren’t his fault. He sold the first.
He made such an easy protagonist to get behind and was the powerhouse behind the whole trilogy! Not gonna lie, that trilogy is actually a bit of a guilty pleasure of mine 😎
Been waiting for this review since we finished the film! So happy you like it :)
This was the first movie in a while that didn't have wokery activism as its core message or even forced into it as a subplot or scene. Genuine character growth and a positive message, damn I've missed movies like that.
I bought and watched this right after I saw this review, thank you, Jeremy, I loved this film and would've missed it without you.
"He's a nerd, he's clutz." So basically hes our guy Stiles that we love from Teen Wolf ? 🤣🤣
No joke we just watched this video in my English class and my teacher was praising you!
This movie was honestly surprisingly good, trailers didn't do it justice at all.
I think that a Good thing in a way, I wont lie the moment I saw the trailer, my expectation was low, but after giving the movie a chance and watched it was really really good.
@@lilypadrocks872 Yes and no, it might also mean that the trailer wasn't enough to convince a lot of people to actually go see it😅
My family has movie 🎥 night 🌙 every Saturday night. And when 🤔 we came across the trailer for this movie, my family voted, No on watching it. I guess we should of took the chance. But it was also $20.00 to watch. Probably why, me as the father, didn't override their, No vote. I'll give it chance now.
@@PhillyDjHook Have fun!
The dog and the dress plot never got resolved, i wonder if they are saving that for part 2.
So yes, according to the games it can happen.
same with the last air bender movie
When I saw the trailer I wasnt expecting much but it was actually pretty good. Jeremys review is pretty spot on too!
dylan obrien looks like the love child of paul walker and john mayer
You know too much.
This was easily one of my favorite newer movies. Went into it knowing nothing and it absolutely smashed expectations!
Sounds like Will Smith and his dog in "I Am Legend" :-) - hope this one didn't have the same type of ending for that relationship :-(.
