- It seems that Debbie the cat only pays a visit to people if they are about to die and does so with alarming accuracy. This later sparks House's Curiosity in Kutner's superstitious beliefs and does whatever he can to spook him out.

Season 5 Episode 18 "Here Kitty"
Nursing-home worker Morgan (Judy Greer) fakes illness to get House's attention after the home's pet cat, Debbie, sleeps next to her. It seems that Debbie only pays a visit to people if they are about to die and does so with alarming accuracy. While House dismisses Morgan as a nut job, he is intrigued by her theory on the kiss-of-death cat, and sets out to disprove it. When Morgan falls seriously ill, he and the team are forced to get to the bottom of both mysteries. Meanwhile, Taub struggles with his finances and reconnects with an old high school friend at the clinic whose business successes present Taub with an entrepreneurial opportunity he had not previously considered.

The cat was actually drawn to the warmth of electric blankets that was being used on those in the nursing home. I remember this episode. It had to do with warmth.
Some diseases can actually be smelled before symptoms show up. Check out the story of "the woman who can smell Parkinson's". The NPR has a good article on the news named "Her Incredible Sense Of Smell Is Helping Scientists Find New Ways To Diagnose Disease".
If a human can have a nose sensitive enough to detect olfactory biomarkers for certain diseases, animals with a heightened sense of smell like dogs and cats definitely can!

3:03 Considering we know how on edge Kutner already must've been, considering he was dead 2 episodes later, this line by House taunting him about his parents being killed is really ominous. Actually felt bad when watching it. No wonder House felt guilty after Kutner's death.
I don’t think House felt guilt over what he said; he’s not the type of person to regret his words or actions. I do think he felt shame however. Shame about not noticing that Kutner was in a state that would cause him to do what he did, and House didn’t notice. House has a huge ego, but despite that I think he does actually care deeply for the people in his life, so the loss of someone in his life just hit him really hard and amplified that sense of shame. IMO.
Or you know, Kalpen Modi was given an Associate Director position in the White House under Barack Obama and thus his character had to be written out of the show immediately.

House capitalised over Kutner's genuine concern to spit blood on him 😂 he knew out of those three, only Kutner would quickly jump over to check on him when he played sick. Kutner was a great character and House was actually fond of him. They could have had a distinct relationship towards the end, the writers could have explored their personal relationship more and their shared emotions of sadness and loss in their lives. He could have been a friend to House until later.

I’ve always thought house’s personal favorite doctor in this part of the show was kutner. Curious, lighthearted, rational, funny, and no regard for personal safety in the pursuit of knowledge. That’s probably why it hurt house so much when he died.
