  • This video is a guide to the ins and outs of undergraduate research. I talk about why research is so important in undergrad, how to get into research, and how involved research is. I answer any questions undergraduates might have about doing research under a professor in STEM. Research is super important and fulfilling so I hope this video helps you all get into any research lab that you want.
Although I am a chemistry major this totally applies to bio and physics research as well.

My biggest fear is messing up or holding the lab back since i dont have any experience. Is it really that common for freshmen to join?

Don’t worry about it! Everyone messes up at first! There have been plenty of times where I’ve accidentally wasted stuff like $100+ solutions. It’s to be expected in lab even starting out! The best thing about mistakes is usually when you make them you learn exactly what went wrong and you don’t do it again.

    Hiiii, I like ur videos.
At school, I don't like chemistry 😨,equations , chemical structure, derivations, reactions made me😵😵,😖.... At present, I'm undergraduate chemistry student 😅. I'm become craziest fan of chemistry. ( I never thought I'm, Like this... ) I'm so glad to choose my major as chemistry. Really , I like this very much.. And I want to know more............... about it. 😄
I didn't like lab😬 hour.because of my faculties.. I hope will have good faculties in master degree 🙏.

Is it popular for professors to pay students who research with them? or you just do it for getting experience?

I don't know if this is true everywhere but generally what I found is you can do research during the semester for credit and get paid if you do research during summer/winter break.
