Just for anyone else’s interest it wouldn’t work for me if I just dragged the file I had to cut and paste the bin drive and then also cut and paste the text drive into the katana boss flash drive . That was the only difference the rest of the video was spot on with what do to for my system .
Thank you for the guide. Now, how can one confirm the Amp has the new firmware version? When I go to windows device manager, still shows drive v1.0.1. And on Tone Control Studio we can only see the version of the Tone Studio software, not the amp.

If I have an Overdrive patch going I get plenty of noise and know that I can engage the NS to handle noise, but when engaged and I turn my volume down the basically cuts out. So I can hook up an external NS through efx loop to take the internal NS out of equation or is there some other method to be to lower volume without losing volume. Thanks
Hello, Tone studio was working normally on my laptop (windows 10), but when open the app “Katana Driver settings” window pops up since last month. And It’s just wasting my time. I couldn’t find any solution for this annoying window. Could you help me please?

How do I cancel the update for my MkII 100w Katana? I copy-pasted the whole folder instead off the individual files, and need to restart. The website says to not turn the power off.
I start the Katana with CH1 and Panel buttons pressed. It appears in my Explorer. But if I try to open the Katana folder, or if I try to click and drag, it doesn't work. I get a message from Windows that it doesn't recognize the device. It's so fckng annoying...
More concerned with looking cool than actually delivering information. If one of our engineers gave a presentation like this they would be out the door. The overall impression is one of "I can't really be bothered with this". I work as an automation engineer in the nuclear sector and this is just poor support.
Plugged the cable in....nothing. Just as I expected. I hate BOSS products with a passion. I'm off to buy a £200 Tube amp.....and throw this crap in the bin.
Whatever you do, DO NOT UPDATE THE FIRMWARE RIGHT NOW. The latest firmware, which I unfortunately installed had "volume optimizations" which amongst other things had the effect of significantly lowered the volume you have to increase volume at least 2x sometimes more to get the equivalent of what you had before, and sound quality is down. There are a lot of people very upset about this going back many weeks and creative while promising to do so have yet to release a fix, and it is NOT possible to roll back the update to the previous version!
thanks for the info! i just want to use a katana for recording so that my sound is from the amplifier, it does not work with the outdated version, maybe they will help me install it in the store, do you think it's not worth it?
The latest firmware is well over a year old. Where are all of these upset people? I've not seen them and I'm on multiple Katana forums. The only ones I've seen upset were the ones that didn't follow the procedure correctly. If what you claim is true, can you provide evidence of this?
@@axmann3579 Not lying, however, it did work using the repair device option, had to do it twice though before the sound returned to normal. Now using the 'initial release' firmware.
@@FiliusFidelis I stayed on the initial release for a few years as it suited my purpose but wanted to hear some of the new features. I'd encourage you to try it again now that you have a way to back out.

the window that pops up is where you drag the files you downloaded into.
mine keeps showing up as a sound device and not a usb drive so i cant update it
