Why I hate shopping with my parents... My ISFP mom reads EVERY SINGLE review of EVERY AVAILABLE product and then checks EVERY LAST website for the best deal and then maybe, just maybe, if there's a deadline or imminent need, she makes a purchase. It's exhausting. Meanwhile, 2 hours ago, my ENTJ dad has asked several of his coworkers what they used, ended up discovering some new and improved alternative (that he doesn't really need) and purchased it in bulk after finding some kind of rare deal and talking the salesperson down even further.
I'm an ENTJ, and I'm pretty darn sure, especially now, that Ni is a savior for me. Today I took apart my sink's pipes, and when I put them back together it started leaking. I was extremely flustered and annoyed at this point. I then turned to how to videos on RUclips, and for every single one I would skip to the section in the video that looked like the guy was addressing the part of the sink where mine was leaking. I repeated this like five times, until I finally figured out what the problem was. The fifth guy happened to mention it. I went deep enough with one method, and I got my result I needed. If I'm understanding right, this video would predict that an INTP, for example, would try to scan around a lot of different methods -- he might look at how sinks are built, a few how to videos, a few articles on different kinds of pipes, etc. Ne and Se circle around problems gathering data, whereas Ni and Si drive straight at them, collecting data in one area very thoroughly.
Jordan Apodaca I can't speak for INTPs, but as an ENFP I can comment on Ne: For troubleshooting, I tend to do all of the following: look at how to videos, wiki how picture guides, and search how to forums. If I know someone with knowledge in the area I'll also ask them, but I won't put 100% stock in any of these, even the trusted expert's opinion. The answer lies in the sum of all of my research. Even when I'm trying to solve a problem on my own, I'll come up with two or three different hypotheticals and follow them to their logical conclusions to see if they are possible and which is most likely given the circumstances. I call this canvasing or shopping an idea (to see how much I buy it). I do this for everything, not just problem solving. For me, every projection exists as a function of weighted hypotheticals.

Edit: would diving deep into ideas for the sake of knowing, and preffering depth for the sake of knowing more out of a realisation that it just makes life easier, because Im not sure as I fit with: preffering depth over bredth for the Oi but also bouncing from one thing to another and not being scared of chaos and just allowing life to kinda push me along while I relax idk im confused... help
Yeah then you have someone like me who is demon double activated Se-F who overgathers a lot and all over the place (kind of like Ne) but it’s all to serve my savior Ni. And it’s so funny too because my savior Ni is like a given. Doesn’t feel all that special, because OF COURSE it’s there. It’s been there the whole time. It’s almost like something I don’t really see or pay attention to yet all the other functions serve that and Te for me (my two saviors)
Read his comment again. He said that Ni and Te are his two saviors. He says that Se is a demon, but it is double activated, referring to his animals/energies.
I look for information on 1 topic in various places, but stick to that 1 topic & info that solely gives me insight on just that 1 topic. All other information is irrelevant to me. I'm confused whether I'm organise or gather, because I go to various sources, but stick to only topic based info, & all other information I ignore.
I'm kinda thinking it like doing a research project. Your teacher provided you with 10 websites. Someone (like me) is only going on 1 website to answer all my questions. Maybe onto a second one if the hours I spent on the first didn't answer the last questions. Someone else is going to through all the websites blast through the first half really fast. But struggle with the second half that require someone to go more in-depth into a website. Ni and si is going to stick to 1 or 2 websites because why the fuck should I go somewhere else to answer my questions if I can very well answer it all in one place. While se and ne are looking everywhere and anywhere to best answer their questions. Because why the fuck should I stick to one place if it could very well be the wrong answer to my questions.
So, if I for example like a movie, and I watch it over and over and over again (more than 30 times). And I do it in three different languages, but still the same movie. Does this make me Ni? Or if I for example like a certain story trope. And I look for that same trope in different TV series, movies, books, etc. Does this make me Ne or Ni? Or even more - Se or Si? Cuz I tend to do it a lot, I get stuck on a figure skater and forgetting everything watch videos of his programs over and over again. Or once I got hung up on Neil Degrasse Tyson and for days all I did was watch different videos with him, interviews, lectures. And now this... Seriously, I just want to know my type(and also other types and functions, so I can write authentic characters)
Hey I have question. I have always thought of myself as an Ne dom. But recently, I had to do some research for my universities. I was a bit anxious since I have never done something like that before, and I did not really look for much universities. I picked a few that really caught my eye, but did not care about any others. However, I did do a shit ton of research about each university that I picked from like 50 websites/forums. What puts me off is the fact that I refused to research about more universities, as I was afraid to have too much on my plate. Could this have been my demon Si making that decision? Or am I not an Ne dom?
It seems like your main introverted observer function is higher than your main extroverted observer function. You zoned in on a select few universities first (Oi), and then did research on them (Oe). Not only that, but you mentioned being afraid of being overwhelmed about research on too many universities, which seems like Oe inferior. Fear of thoughts (intuition), not fear of the research (sensory), which you already did a lot of. So it seems like you're a single observer with M-Si dom and F-Ne inf.

ProfessorBorax Im also supposedly ENTP but I’m wondering if I am an organizer who thinks he does research. My entire day is spent watching videos on different subjects but the more I think about it the more I realize that a lot of the videos have the same information in them. Confusing...
Everyone has a bit of organizing and a bit of gathering. If one have Ne it is followed by Si. And similarly, if one has Ni it is followed by Se somewhere in the stack. It's just that one tends to be more dominant depending on it's place on the function stack
you know I see a problem what you are saying here an sunder stress savor gather person under stress will probably go to organize function when their savor ne or se is not helping them any longer and if this happens a lot according to op they will mistype .
So what about when you keep going back to Pinterest and saving new information to same 15-ish boards? I mean, I'm gathering new, new, new always expanding. But it has common themes/purposes.
I think this is gathering more than organizing. I'm ENTP and I do the same thing. We have a few areas of interest and we collect everything we can about it.
I'm heavy on gather, i'm realy trying to practice my Organize, i used to want to just learn about loads of different things on the surface level, studying software this has lead to me knowing loads of different programming languages, but being unable to write programs in them past beginner level. I've started actualy sitting down and reading a book on Java and i'm going to read it to the end and then try and do something with it indepth before i go on to another one.

Im an organise. So fucking obvious.
Edit: Also I think "obsession" also works as another (maybe more relatable) word for Oi
Not gonna lie, I’m having trouble understanding the graphics in this one 😣
+Milkshakes That's because they are using Quantum Mechanics to explain the dynamics of cognitive functions... :)
Dominant observers get on my nerves - both gatherer and organizing. Dominant deciders FTW
This is from two years ago... but I dont care
-OxFiTeOx (because idk what I am lol)
@@pierogipower3075 enfp guess
I gather books and never read. I need help, I am an ENFP and I think I'm destined to fail in the academic field due to my lack of scheduling and being in touch with reality. What can I do to improve my s?
Cool... So my fixated research problem is not Se or Ne.... My obsession specifically looks for specific information in circles... And finds new ways to arrange it over and over obsessively till end goal is planned out properly... All of this just occurred to me when Dave said "FOR THE SAME THING" 😅
Well I’ve watched all the objective personality videos a while ago (every single video lol)… now I’m watching them all over again…. Anyway I’m a INTJ :) lol, I do Ni hard on stuff…when I like it
yay I still have no clue whether Im saviour organise or saviour gather...
because im not sure what I like more or what I do 'subconsciously' nor do I know what I prefer doing consciously... this is a pain Like all I know is that Im double decider Fi and Te
I think Im N dom but for all I know I could be an ESFP dude... or and ISTJ...
Edit: would diving deep into ideas for the sake of knowing, and preffering depth for the sake of knowing more out of a realisation that it just makes life easier, because Im not sure as I fit with: preffering depth over bredth for the Oi but also bouncing from one thing to another and not being scared of chaos and just allowing life to kinda push me along while I relax
idk im confused...
He specifically said that your fourth function is not a savior. Go back and try again.
Read his comment again. He said that Ni and Te are his two saviors. He says that Se is a demon, but it is double activated, referring to his animals/energies.
Yes, exactly :)
I gather infos about the same shit , i am gathering infos about mbti like 7 months ago and i cant stop .. i think maybe there is more things that i have to know about it and still dont .. and you know what ? Its true i found new infos from your channel, i stay searching from the same place but there is a time that i feel its done i should see other places ... example : i repeat this video 3 times to fully understand the infos, and cz i think: maybe there is infos i skipped and its important or i didnt hear ..
Me watching this 4 minutes of video for last 10 minutes just to know whether I'm an INTP or not.
Ok, i'm an Ni user. Don't know if an INxJ or ENxJ. The problem is: any of them might have problems i don't want to deal with..
I might do this but ive always been extraverted so am i a an ni or ne
I look for new information in new sources after having excavated previous sources. As an ENTP I should be Ne, but it looks like you are suggesting I am Si o.O
Could somebody please explain?
I agree with Diego, probably organize. That’s too little information to go off of though.
I think he is a gatherer, Jerry xD
fucking hell im autistic this makes it 10x more confusing because special interests
You did not talk about Ne Si
Hes not talking about Se and Ni either. Don't get confused by the pictures. In reality, hes talking about Oe vs Oi.
got it! Thanks..
Relatable but is it just a bias?
This is great channel but this guy talks not just fast but sometimes you can't even hear letter or whole word that he wanted to pronance. It annoy me so much! Because I can really learn from him, he isn't like rest of the shallow mbti channels, but how exactly can I do that if when I don't hear what he is saying!????!!
It's depth vs breadth
No Dave, perception functions do not organize. Inductive reasoning (heuristics) is judging.
Eeer, hes not saying "Organize" is the same as inductive reasoning. Hes already been over this in his "Ti vs Te" video. Further, inductive reasoning is impossible anyway.
